orangutans are cool, but they are still wild savage animals. They operate on instinctual behaviour and would think nothing of tearing off peoples' limbs and beating the crap out of them with it if given the chance.
@LegendxWind about Orangs being wild and savage animals? Why don't you go out and live with them for a while and see if one doesn't do exactly that or worse. Go ask that Grizzly man guy who ended up making himself (and his girlfriend) bear poop trying to test that same theory. Animals are savages. It is the reason that them (and us for that matter) are the way we are.
Animals are not wild and savage. As you said, they live by instincts,as do we. Their instincts tell them when they need to defend themselves, their food, their offspring, and their territory. And don't insinuate that you have lived with Orangutans,I know you haven't,you know you haven't. Animals will attack if you go into their territory and expect to be accepted like one of them, like in the grizzly case. But orangutans have more "humanity" than most humans ever will
@LegendxWind actually, their instincts don't differentiate between killing and guilt. If a chimpanzee kills another chimpanzee, there is no sense of "justice" in their minds. They don't operate like we do, with a sense of fairness and justice in society. This is true. I think animals are the "root of all evil" give me a fucking break man I love animals but I just don't choose to idealize them like you do.
I didn't say they did,I said that they aren't the savage beasts that you made them out to be. Its like your just stereotyping and grouping them all together and labelling them as savages, which couldn't be more wrong. I'm not idealizing,I'm being honest. Apes, great apes like the Orangutan especially, express a wide range of emotional reactions to situations. For example:
@LegendxWind " they aren't the savage beasts" tell that to the woman who raised a chimp from a baby to have it eat her nose off her face, pluck out her eye balls, and eat off her fingers while she was still alive.
That chimpanzee was a wild animal. It does not matter how fondly you raise a wild animal, it still has its extincts. A chimp is not meant to be caged in someones house and be forced to wear clothing. It is meant to be out in the wild and I'm sorry but that woman it is moron for thinking otherwise. She probably has no idea of chimpanzee behaviour and brought it on herself by spoiling it and treating it as if it was human. She had it coming, sadly. It is always the humans fault.
An orangutan thats baby had been taken by poachers to be sold as a pet was reunited with it when the baby was rescued by conservationalists. The baby unfortunately died and the mother saw the lifeless body and put its face within its hands and wept. Not tears,as tears are from the human species with a few exceptions, but it sobbed because it understood. Given the emotional depth of that situation I chose not to pass animals to the side as being savage and inpredictable.
And for the record, people do live with orangutans in rehabilitation centers to try and preserve their species. They aren't savagely attack and turned into poop and you know why? Because they don't think like you do. People like you that think animals are the root of all evil and savages are the problem,

Actually Orangs have a much quieter and thoughtful nature than other apes.

I never heard of a orangutang attack a women and tear her face off.
I hear that bonobos (pygimy chimps) are gentle. The regular chimps are the mean ones, tho.
kdc43 2 years ago
Wow, they are just like humans then, with all the savage wars, muggings, rape of children and beheadings that humans do to each other.
kdc43 2 years ago
yeah, that's where we get that behaviour from. Except that we recognize it as wrong and they don't have the capacity to do so. That is the point.
