6.9 was outdated for 1987 but that is a strong-ass engine

Its ok this is my second Diesel my first was a 80 benz But I like this better..

I'd have to disagree with that. Other than increasing the displacement from 6.9-7.3 liters in 1988 and offering a factory turbo in 93&94 Ford didn't make any significant changes until the Powerstroke debuted in 1994. Even though they aren't hotrods, these old IDI's are still in service today and are great engines.

1987 was the best (and last) year of the 6.9. She's rough but that truck has potential. Nice that it's 4WD too!
