  • 5 People chose Aurica

  • 5 people got game over

  • This is so beautiful~ :D

  • i believe this site conlang.wikia.com/wiki/Hymmnos may explain more about the Hymmnos language. :D

btw This song is the first song that moves my heart in Ar Tonelico

  • this language is german or latin or what?

    because isn't japanese

    i'm confused...

  • @AkoMikk the language is made up,just like elf language in lord of ring

  • shame sacrefice doesnt make other people happy irl. it sucks that only in game u can protect people with it >.> or give people happyness with it

  • Im loving this right now and i love the game definitely top 10 rpg for me!

  • Misha. There was never any choice when I went for your route. NEVER.

    <3

  • If GLADoS invented a language

  • 5 People should throw away their Justin Bieber CD and hear this instead

  • Who disliked this masterpiece!?

  • Never thought anyone who is knowledgeable as you to respond at my comment, thanks! It was kind of disappointing once I learned that fact, but it actually makes sense since hymmnoss is only used for communication between one of the three towers and the rayvateils. It’s not for human communications.

  • Beginning reminds me of Tsubasa.

Also this songs so beautiful D': I'm gonna cry

  • is hymmnos equivalent of Elvish in Tolkien novel in terms of completeness and practicality of language? I found that not all vocabularies exist in hymmnos even the most common ones like "hello", "learn", and "sister" Even the landmark structures like the towers don't exist the vocabulary list (i know there are names for each towers but still)

    ヒュムノスってトールキンのエルフ語並みの完成度を誇っているのでしょうか?日本語で検索してみたところどうも日常で使う単語がかけているんですよね。たとえば”こんにちは”とか”学ぶ”とか”姉妹”などです。物語で重要な”塔”という単語でさえ存在していませんでした。(塔の名前があるのは知っていますが)

  • @nnecron That's actually the problem with Hymmnos being used in a normal setting. The lack of ordinary words makes it impossible to express simple things like:

    I like this video.

You can express the intensity of how you like it since Hymmnos is based on feeling, but actually saying "video" would be impossible since there's no Hymmnos word for it ' u '

Based on the conlang, "tonelico" works for tower c:

  • @popopopbubblegum Actually, it's possible to get creative:

Ma yea ra rre wi manafeeze leaff. (Happy to this living picture-book).

  • @amitabho123 So it's like bootstrapping an ancient (liturgical) language into common usage then? Very, very nice.

  • @inawarminister It is meant, in lore, to be the perfection of all versions of Risshizentsukyomi; it wasn't a liturgical language, it was a purely working language. The Risshizentsukyomi chants were done by hundreds; the Revyateil songs are done by very few, but their songs are far superior. The Risshizentsukyomi treated it religiously, but Hymmnos is meant to be a solid version used to tower-interface with 'maximum efficiency'. In essence, the towers are giant amps; Hymmnos is the volume dial.

  • manly tears were shed

  • This song is singed by Akiko Shikata.

  • wow powerful and beautiful. ^.^

  • who made this song and who singing this song ???

  • @papakewl010 Akiko shikata is the singer.

  • wow its so beautiful Misha is such a good singer ^^

  • Holy crap, thank you so much for doing this! Having the phonetics side by side with the English translations is pure awesome!

  • where is this from?

  • @Kamuka7 this is from the game called: Ar Tonelico

personally i think this is the best Hymn of all Hymns of all 3 series

  • @sheepsaysbaah k, thx^^ i think ill try it^^

  • O.o Wow...that was beautiful! T_T

What a deep meaning...is this from the first game??

  • @TalesOfGod Yes this is from the first game, song to put Mir in deep sleep

  • Tragic yet beautiful.

  • This is my fav song i had it stuck in my head for a while and it was scary when i would try to sing it

  • Second only to Aurica's version of Purger. This is a beautiful yet sad song.

  • lovely ^.^

  • I dont know why but it allmost made me cry...

such a deep meaning and the translation to english was great

    P.S.

dam japanese people allways bring the best stuff >>

  • Wow o_O; However I missed this video over the years.. lol -_-

Thanks alot for the lyrics XD

Chronicle Key has to be one of my favorite songs from that game :">

  • Great song, I love Ar Tonelico's hymns.

  • This song is so powerful still my fav. This is the first time I read the translate notes

  • is this jappense cool it sound like ancient greece or somthing making it sound epic it feel like meeting a king

  • @suicideatacker This is a language called Hymnos not japanese. It is artificial language, and suppose to show emotion more than other languages. I think it is kinda of mixture between made up, Italian, Japanese, and English

  • @phillipkim1 actually, Japanese, Sandskrit, Latin, I think German too...I can't remember the others

  • @VictoryZetaMKII veto! There are nearly no german words used in hymmnos. I know it because i'm german. I discover many english and latin based words.

ZaMaBa showed us some exempals for english.

  • @Hentaifreak1 Bull, I have the offical art book that was released with AT 1, I've looked at other sites as well, it was DERIVED from these languages also. Go look at EXEC_HYMMNOS_Z and have a good day.

  • @Hentaifreak1 btw, you also said nearly, you're not proving anything other than the fact that you have time to waste

  • @VictoryZetaMKII why so seriouse? I say "nearly", thats correct. I've heard diffrend songs from the ar tonelico games. In over 20 songs i've seen no more than five words. About Exec_Z...exactly one word is german HALT...wow! As I sade "nearly"...nothing more to say. By the way almost everbody on you tube wast his time here, so what? I don't know why your so upset. Do you just have problem with german? Anyway let's just enjoy the music. :-)

  • @Hentaifreak1 lol no, I'm not upset, I'm irritated, because people like you come in and act like you know what you're talking about. Hymmnos is a conlang, it is it's own language derived from those languages, you're not going to see EXACT words from each language, but words with familiar ethnic origins. I don't have a problem with german, I have a problem with people that try to prove a point when they don't know what they're talking about lol.

  • @VictoryZetaMKII Okay, I got you point. Allso you have this book from the first game. I guess you lern japanese, right? This are two thinks I sadly don't have. But I'm curious, because I realy don't finde many words with german origins. Could you tell me some....exept for Ecex_Z witch I found out my self. I know some german words for numbers were used, but thats all I've find out. Most hymmnos are based on latin, japanese and sanskrit I guess, from what I've seen.

  • @Hentaifreak1 My book is in english. The point is, is just because there aren't many that you see, doesn't mean that it wasn't used as a base for the language. You also have to take into account certain pronunciations too

  • @VictoryZetaMKII Ah, okay. Exactly that is the problem. We can all say there are references of italien, english, japan a.s.o. but to find it out is not that easy at all. As I sayed befor i only find view words witch could be based on german. most sound or read like there from latin, italien, france, english and some japan....I don't know sanskrit so I can't tell. I realy like that fantasy language, and special the song Chronical_Key. From hearing it sometimes all so sounds turkish.

  • @Hentaifreak1 But...I have found out the information on the languages that Hymmnos is derived from already. the turkish sound most likely comes from sandskrit. Again, you have to hear the actual pronunciations of the words to fairly determine the origin of the word, even with that aside. Hymmnos is a conlang, a made up language.....consider that

  • @phillipkim1 I think that German may have made up some of it too, the word order reminds me of that. Or I recall reading it somewhere. Not sure.

  • It's Hymmnos, actually. It's from the RPG series, "Ar Tonelico." Hymmnos is a language created specifically for the series.

  • Holy shit, now that I understand what she was singing there I ... damn, I'm nearly crying.

  • this is my favorite song XD

  • This is probably the all-time favorite hymn from the first Project AT. I must concur. It's so...well damn, there aren't any words I have for it. I think most of you understand this.

  • This song always gives me the chills. It's my favourite song among all the Ar Tonelico's Hymns.

  • i play Ar tonelico... and play until the when Misha sing this song... i was like shocked....0.0

this song is nice... good thing they got the lyrics... i almost felt so sad for Misha

  • Reducing such a song as this and all the events that transpired from its creation to Mir's redemption to something as that sounds like something extremely retarded to me.

  • alright, I apologize. It was meant to be a joke, never thought everyone took it so seriously.

  • is this misha's version?

  • The only one who sings this song is Misha. So yeah, it's the Misha version.

  • wow, so that was the meaning of the lyrics sung to Mir.

  • yeah. And if you see her (Misha's) emotions in the Hymmnos, she has a good heart , well at least IMO. XD

I hope this is grammatically correct:

Misha, was yea ra hyma rre yorr selena anw hymmnos.

  • Personally, I like Akiko Shikata more because she has a wider range of song types. All of her other albums have from her hymn-like song quality (like this one) to her almost rock type music. I think Noriko Mitose's voice is a little high for me.

Although, Yuuko Ishibashi beats out both of them in terms of a beautiful voice, but that's just me.

  • The song is so beautiful, and Akiko Shikata's voice suits it perfectly. It's such a pure, dreamlike song.

  • On ar tonelico 2 they have a song sung in hymnos and when you listen to it there is a note saying "listen to how horrific the lyrics are." Ummmmm... how do I understand hymnos? lol.

  • no...they aren't, they are sung in Hymnos

  • You're both right, but at the same time not. Latin is one of the languages USED in Hymmnos, or that words are based upon. There are also words based on Sanskrit, German, English, French, etc.

  • But I am right.....the songs are sung in Hymnos, regardless of what languages were used to create it, the net result, is Hymnos

  • Yup yup~ And it's such a pretty language, too, even if it sounds better sung rather than spoken. XD

  • Agreed

  • wow...I always love it when she sings this song, but I never seen what it means... its sad, but the song is so lovly

  • Oh cool!! I love this song....

  • Such a deep song and lyrics almost made me cry T_T... BRAVO!!

  • very beautiful

  • please uploadthe english translated hymns more

  • Thanks,ZAMABA.

I love this video of your.

And not to mention that I was awaiting this video for so long.

    Again, ARIGATOU-GONZAIMASU!!! :)

  • Explanatory notes of lyrics in this movie.

    Upper : Hymmnos

Middle : Pronunciation by the alphabet

Lower : The meaning in English

    (note)

Hymmnos characters are same as alphabet and number(a-z, A-Z, 0-9)

  • Good video. Well, I only wanted to say that we have almost all the hymns translated in the forums of Ar Tonelico A Reyvateil's Melody (I´m aquagon in there). And also... a lot of thanks to you, ZaMaBa, because your videos helped me a lot with the translations.

  • Nice song =D sounds so angelic

I'm guessing this is Japanese, but the letters looks different.

What type of music is this?

  • Lyrics of this song is written in HYMMNOS. It's fictional language in the Ar Tonelico's world.

It was made based on English, Japanese, Sanskrit, German and etc.

There is the song which uses Hymmnos together with Japanese.(e.g. EXEC_PAJA, EXEC_LINCA, METHOD_IMPLANTA, Harmonics or etc.)

  • I guess that origin of the following Hymmnos's word are an English.

    yor : you

    pauwel : power

    na : not

nedle(maybe 'needle' is typo) : need

    eterne : eternal

    slepial : slumber or sleep

    lamenza : lament

  • too bad if it's fictional T_T, I would love to hear a lot of these in my lifetime.
