As I play minecraft, these sounds always get me very hard, especially when I'm building a house at night. Once I heard no. 10 at 3am in the morning, (in minecraft time too) I screamed like a pussy and woke up my neighbours.

lol i never get scared by any of these sounds. And you cant actually call them cave sounds. I would call them structure sounds instead because they occour when a big structure is created in mineacraft. I heard them in my new cathedral that i am working on

@meDJSIRIUS according to the wiki they have a chance of occuring when your character is within 20 blocks of a 3x3x3 or larger zone that is lower than light level 8 or so. The darker or bigger the zone, the more frequent the sounds.

@Sophoboss As far as I know, it means you're near a cave. You shouldn't be afraid of them (other than the fact that they sound creepy :P) because it doesn't mean anything bad's going to happen.

Also, try digging near your castle. You might find a cave as these sounds play when you're in/near a cavern.

@Gamereyes76 Yes, they do indicate near caves or dungeons, strongholds or ravines, wich have a light level below 8.

They can occur even in a box at the sky wich has no light in it.

Cave noises are nothing to be afraid of, though they are really facken creepy.

@BeatlesCQ Herobrine doesn't exist. These sounds are randomly played from a 1x1x1 space or larger with a light level of 0 to 5 (Max being 15). Such as underground caves that you are near. If you hear these sounds above ground then there is a cave system directly below you. Or there is an area in your house that is not properly lit.
