  • Should you add glaze before it drys or after?

  • @TheDaisyStyle After it's baked and cooled it the time to glaze it.

  • @GardenOfImagination Thank you! im getting my clay soon! Ive been watching ALL your tutorials.. You are the best sculptor EVER! :]

  • @cutesofty3009 she probably baked it for 5 minutes like a cane or so but idk

  • was just wondering how safe those gel products are? I tried to find substitutes and I read the labels and there were warning signs about the danger of exposure to it.

  • Ok I"m still having issues! My items aren't staying together if I layer. I made a choclate milke shake with light brown clay and the base I just did in white clay. The two are not staying together and I am affraid I am over cooking but it always feels plyable after I bake. Does it completely harden once cooked or is it as cooked as it is going to get?

  • @rhondajo1969 when they come out , when they've cooled down they will harden ?

  • Comment removed

  • @gardenofimagination how do you make your polymer clay smooth because I've done that cake shape but it was all full of lines? And at Michaels how do you get the perfect and squishy and soft polymer clay?Oh and where do you get the materials? Is it all from Michaels?

  • Your little girl was so into what you were doing I love this vedio.

Thank you for sharing a real life story.

  • @faithd8 14 teen???? WHAT?!?!

  • beautiful! u are awesome....l was wondering, did u bake the cake layers first? or after cutting it? thank u so much!!!!

  • @lumoon09 cut then bake

  • awsome

  • I love your videos, they are AWESOME! :D

Aww... your daughter sounds so cute. (=^_^=)

I wish I could have that strawberry shortcake... goodness! All this talk bout a cake makes want to eat a real one now lol.

  • you've some excellent ideas! Thanks so much!

  • @agcrazy211 No. Sorry.

  • I wanna EAT it!

  • aw you seem so pretty and so does Kathrine!

  • u sound so pretty

  • @faithd8 I could have done a better job on this cake and have often considered doing a better strawberry cake. It's also too large for my plate. But thank you.

  • Aww! your daughter's name is Catherine or Katherine or Kathryn? My name is Catherine too!

  • hey thanks so much! but i have a question...you said to bake the clay cakes before but then how do you cut them? doesnt the cclay get hard?

  • @CockerSpaniels12345 Yeah... I think I said the wrong thing here. It's easier to slice before it's baked. Toss it in the refrigerator for an hour to firm it up, then cut... then bake.

  • Can you post a picture at the end? I'd like to see the finished piece up close. Thanks. :)

  • Hi garden of imagination,I'm new to youtube and i was inspired by your tutorials...

  • @cacaisports1 Welcome and thank you! Be sure to check out many other talented people here on youtube as well. They are in so many other crafts and specialties. Have fun!

  • where do you get youre ideas to make things out of clay?

  • @sissy74356 From the Garden of Imagination...

  • how do you slice it if it is already baked? Im having issues :/

  • @CuBicHexJAxMami She said it wasn't baked but you have to bake it before you do that

  • Hi ..

Can you make a ''Video'' that shows us all of your clay craichions?

And a video that shows us how to make wooden dishes ?

  • @Super29Girls Check my other videos to view my dollhouse and various creations. I don't make wooden dishes, I buy them cheap at Hobby Lobby.

  • @Super29Girls But if you mean fake wood... I already have a video of that up. I make a clay wood grained bowl.

  • why dois your dather ceep talking

  • haha i love ur kid on the side... "strawberry cake slurpp"

  • 13 people didnt get a slice of the cake :)

  • Thank you so much. I am just learning, and this is very helpful. PS- I love the sound of sweetness in the background. I'm sorry some people can't appreciate the beautiful sound that miracles make in our lives!

  • what do do to keep little hunks of clay or fuzzies off of the clay u r working with?

  • i like it

  • kathrine is rally anyoying in this video

  • I love kids but you may want to record your videos when the baby is taking a nap. She is VERY distractingly annoying. I am a Grandma and LOVE when I get to take care of the babies but trying to watch a video with her disruptions really gets my goat!

  • @rhondajo1969 Thank you for saying that so sweetly. The only way I was able to get videos done with kids, was to have them around. So perhaps you could mute the video and just watch. But now she is in school all day, so future videos will sadly be lonlier... but quieter.

  • @GardenOfImagination

I love your kids talking. You're a mom doing what moms do (try and have a life while being a mom)

But I was a little confused by something on this vid. You said that your cake layers would be baked before you frost right? But then how would you slice it? Did I miss something?

  • @CryingRaven Thank you for understanding the whole mommy situation. I probably was a little confused. You can use the TLS frosting and frost the cake before you bake and then slice it when it's hard. You could frost, slice, and then bake the partial cake and the slice. Or you could bake the cake and use white caulking as frosting after it has cooled.

  • @GardenOfImagination

    Ok thanks :)

And for the record, I think one of the things that grabbed my attention, on the first vid that I watched of yours, was your kids talking in the background.

    <3 God bless, Tammi

  • @GardenOfImagination yea it would be lonlier

  • @rhondajo1969 one mean grandma!!!

  • I have to say, I am a Grandma and love kids babies and dogs too! However, you may want to record your instructional video when the baby is taking a nap. Her disruption is very annoying. You have some excellent ideas but again, she's way to annoying!

  • Your child is really cute~!! >u<

  • can i use glue that we use for glueing paper to do this

  • @minhtutran2001 No, glue just doesn't stay looking as good since it shrinks.

  • can i use glue to do this

  • Each time i see your videos, it's a real pleasure ! :-)

Thank you very much to share with us !

  • @isasart Thank you so much!

  • You get alot of your things at hobby lobby but where I live I don't have a hobby lobby so where else would you get that stuff?

  • @krkatelyn Some of it is at JoAnn Fabrics. Or you can get it from my supplier, The Dutch Lady. Her link is on my youtube channel.

  • @krkatelyn EBAY!!!

  • @krkatelyn also try Michael's too.

  • @sunnyysun33 yes they do i have both

  • Can you use something other then Liquid Nails? Like glue or liquid sculpy?

  • i'm not from america and i don't know what is gallery glass or liquid nails. Can you tell me with what thinks i can replace this 2 important elements.

  • @aStencil Gallery glass is a clear liquid that dries clear. It's in the craft stores. Liquid nails is used in hardware stores as a strong, clear caulking.

  • can u just use the jel itself

  • @littlemissswaggerful It's just food coloring gel, so it would never harden and make big mess. Sorry.

  • @shadowjosci the clay is 1.99

  • @sunnyysun33 no they dont i tried looking

  • I just love your videos... I like your little crafting table and especially the little one in the background! It just adds something for me. I've already learned a couple of tricks from you. Thanks for posting!

  • @39Bosski Thank you!

  • great video, it answered all the questions I've had on how to make it shiny and the natural cake crumbs, etc etc.. Thank YOU

  • @sulivel Excellent!

  • @shadowjosci I got some at our local Jo Ann Fabrics and they will have a sale of the scupey polymer clays on August 1st for like a dollar something I forgot but they sell them for like $2.75 here each bar. . . so find your local Jo Ann Fabrics and find out. I think they are online too, try ebay prices also.

  • XD who's singing

    Great vidd <'33

  • @krisvangendt I think Katherine was singing... my little daughter.

  • @sunnyysun33

yeah they do, and it is expensive :P

  • @shadowjosci usually about $1.50 per bar thing

  • @sunnyysun33 I'm not sure. We don't have a Michaels here.

  • @shadowjosci They cost around $3 a bar. Check for sales. And thank you.

  • the final product is not clear, i cant see.

  • you are so creative!

  • I know what Gallery Glass is. I just don't know what is in that large bottle. I don't have Hobby Lobby here and our Michaels only carries the small different Gallery Glass colors. I was just wondering what is in that bottle is it a glaze, a finish? What? Thx

  • @Ianavak I think it's a large bottle of gallery glass. I use Triple Thick as my glaze.

  • @Ianavak

I have the same prob. U liv in Cali too?

  • i would never think to use glue and food coloring .

i would just put another layer of red or pink in the center.

  • Can I assume when you say use Gallery Glass that you are talking about tha sealer not the crystal clear?

  • @Ianavak Gallery Glass is different than the Triple Thick glaze.

  • it be cool to make strawberry short cake

  • your home looks like a scientist lab

  • i would really like to see u make a strawberry short-cake

  • hi do u sell your modals on e bay cos i relly love your modals i love to make cley modals too

  • I always try to get a close up on my videos now.

  • @GardenOfImagination ooooh ok thank u for trying + replying

  • the filling is the same look as mine !

  • do u know wot to do if ur dad says ur too young to use liquid nails?

  • Ask him to help.

  • I have one question can you use silly puddy instead of clay? please reply. :)

  • No. Completely different material. Please don't put silly putty in the oven.

  • It would be cool if you could make Grapes and a subway footlong sandwich that would be so cool to see more the sandwich then the grapes. But Thanks hope u can create the request your great at what you do....!! I cant get enough of your videos.

  • I'll list it.

  • okay cool..

  • Hey when you make the strawberry cake i noticed u mentioned the frosting being to liquody i came up with idea u can roll out some polymers clay and then cover the 2 layers of cake with the rolled out clay like cake fondant.....

  • Good idea.

  • yea jus thought rolling out like fondant would be easier...lol so maybe u can do that instead of making the frosting.

  • hi i have a food request! can u make tacos! or like a subway sandwitch! (i spelled that wrong lol) cuz that would be great!

  • I'll list it, but it will be a long while.

  • I have an idea. just make how you make then..... i slice it then i use my heat gun or blow dry the cake! :O after the icing and glaze harden... or else i'lll get a blown away cake.... THAT'S A GREAT IDEA! A blown away clay.... LOL....

  • can you make these for 18" dolls or is that what its for and can you make a pomgranit (i no i spelled it wrong but who cares?!) or pinapple (i also spelled wrong)

  • Just use this way and make them larger. The pomegranit video is made, just not uploaded yet. And the pineapple idea is listed.

    thank you!

  • Can you make a martini or cocktail?

  • Yes, but my husband makes them better.

    lol.... I'll list them.

  • @GardenOfImagination

    As in from polymer clay?

  • I wouldn't use clay for a liquid. Watch my "drinks" tutorial for liquids.

  • thats great! ^_^

  • how can you slice your cake when we were so supposed to bake it?

  • Let it sit in the cold refrigerator for half an hour to semi harden it then slice it. Slice before cooking.

  • ohhh... that kid! :D

  • haha!out both directions!srry it was funny how you said it

  • Y^Y Lucky kid, i wish i had a parent who knows how to make cakes D: </3 Loooks good ! Great job!

  • you have alot of talent for this stuff

  • Thank you!

  • do you have 2 bake it and if not can we just use a glaze to seal it instead of baking? PLEASE REPLY!

  • It's best to bake and then seal with Triple Thick Glaze, but you can just seal it if it's very tiny.

  • ok thanks for the help

  • your cool at making comments.

  • wow that cake is soooooooooo yummy i just wanna buy it. i cant take its yummyness can you take it?

  • Hey, I got an idea! Can we make the circle with a juice top? i don't really drink soda, but i can buy one to use it for my cake. Any ways, I'm gonna buy some clay in ebay, all my supplies in ebay. Because i found Micheals haven't opened yet!

    ~Alice

  • Thats where i buy my tools to their great!

  • my mom won't let me use liquid nails!!!! what can i use????

  • Try to watch some of the other videos for ideas on substitutions.

  • I live in Pennsylvania, and The main art store I go to is Pat Catans. I haven't beem there in a while, and I don't know if they have those boxes of chalk you have... If they don't have it there, where would they have it?

  • pastel chalks are common and should be at all craft stores. I get mine from Hobby Lobby.

  • **Pat Catans does sell pastel chalks and can be found in the art department. They sell/stock a few different brands of chalks, but the basic colors work just fine.

  • Very artistic approach with out of the box thinking for a fun clay cake result-great job!

  • Hii! im going to micheal's today and i just wanted to know, im NOT gonna buy A polymer clay oven, can i just put it in my regular oven? for how much time? what temperature? I' m not gonna make strawberry cake im gonna make chocolate, im not looking any video how to makei t i wanna try it my self and i have a great idea, maybe i can make a video of it..... :]

  • Don't buy an oven. Yes, you can just use your kitchen oven. Clay is perfectly safe. The only part that is bad is if you BURN it... the smoke is toxic. Kind of like burning plastic. Check the clay you buy for times and temp. Generally 275 for 20 minutes will cook any miniature food.

  • TOXIC?! Omg! your scaring me! lol

  • Hello,

I want to say I think you are a true artist! You make wonderful things! They look so cute and real! Wery well done!

I also have a question for you: what else could you use in stead of "liquid nails" for the filling and the icing of the cake? I can't seem to find "liquid nails" over here in my country. (Not Amercia)

Thank you in advance and again congratulations with your work!

  • Check out some of my other "cake" videos. Another way to make icing is to mix translucent liquid sculpey with clay. I think there is even an "icing" tutorial.

  • Great job....................Bravo.
