i get this horrible clicking noise down by the whammy bar when i stretch the strings. i can feel it too. i think it may have something to do with my floyed rose. either way its stopping my harmonic and i dont knw why. any idea cuz im clueless. i would greatly appriciate the help.

@Stain12118 I would guess it's a spring first. take the back plate off and look at it when your pushing it down. If thats not it then the floud might be coming off of the two bolts just a hair. if need be take all the string off and push it down and pull it all the way back and see if you can tell whats going on. or the string might be slipping in the nut check that first! the other stuff. if none of that is it message me back and well see what is going on

so, the trick is to lower the bar, touch and move the desired string, then as if it was a natural harmonic touch slightly in 7, 5,4,3,etc fret while raising bar?

@captainsheb The reason why you need a Floyd is because not only does it have a forward motion to loosten the strings but it has a backwards motion to tighten the strings.

The standard tremelo like on a strat only has the Forward motion.

@wyoskater Usually the worst that can happen is that your guitar will go a bit out of tune. Locking tremolos are pretty robust. Eddie Van Halen uses his Floyd almost to a ridiculous level and I've never heard anything about him breaking the bridge. Also, usually the more expensive the guitar the lower the risk.

With natural harmonics you should take your finger off the string as soon as you pick the string, this allows it to ring out. It should work like that anywhere in the 12th fret region=p

no, any tremolo can be pulled back with the right setup. floyd rose is just made to be pulled back very far and dumped.

floyd rose. yes you can do the same thing you just wont get as high a pitch. another way is turn your guitarover and un screw the two screws about two full turns. retune your guitar and your bridge should come up off the guitar a bit. now you can pull it back.
