  • I'm sure someone has said this already but you don't have enough body fat my friend. I on the other hand can float like a blow up toy. lol!

  • @thvisualstenographer As much as I'd like to think I was lean and mean sadly I'm not. But its nice to think I am. Thats what I should start telling people. I'm so ripped I can't float. hahaha

    Take care,

    Jay

  • No Jay, They did not tell me to get lost. In fact, they were great about it, and taught me some other tricks. I suspect, 35 yrs, and a few pounds added, I stand a better chance! Maybe if I keep a few tins of sealed pipe tobacco, that would add some bouyancy! NRN.

  • @DannoCrutch hahaha I can see it now, the ship is sinking and you're stuffing your pockets with tobacco tins. Someone asks you way and you say "For safety!" hahaha

  • Wasn't there a Monte Python skit about floating and testing to see if you're a witch? Hahaha. Now you know you're not a witch!

  • @piperevival hahaha Whats sad is crap like that really happened.

  • The reason why some people can't float is because they don't have enough body fat to float with. Pro athletes who have maybe less than 10 percent body fat will sink. So, start pigging out. Bon apetite. lol

  • @pcsmoker13 I hate to say it but I really doubt my body fat is any where near as low at 10%.

  • i'll take your word for it that you've tried everything. That being said haha, i could never float my whole life until one day i was told, or told myself, to thrust my hips towards the surface. And it is extremely counter-intuitive, since as soon as you do it your head starts going under water and you want to panic. But if you wait a second you start to float. But even still I am a very precarious floater. It is not comfortable at all, since if i breathe out i will sink. haha.

  • @soulmirrors Ya know whats really funny is if I lay one my stomach I'll float but about 3 feet under the surface. Which isn't all that handy. hahah

  • natural-born diver

  • @scubadudefrommaine hahaha I've always wanted to give scuba a try. Maybe it's my second calling? Some how I doubt it. hehe

  • If your ever headed out for a long voyage at see you need to get an extra ticket and take me along with you. I float better than a raft. If I try diving under water I cant stay down for more then a few seconds, if that. =-p

  • @givensdroid We'd make a great swim team. hahaha

  • I had the same think at School. Negative Buoyancy! Even with a polystyrene board in my hands I could barely stay afloat. Now I think I'd Bob like a Cork, thanks to my body fat!

  • @raindog951 It's nice to know I'm not the only one whos had this problem. That kick boards never worked for me either.

  • Hahah! That's a great interesting factoid about Jay! Have a safe, caffeine induce trip, brother. Oh yea, stay out of the deep end of the tub while you're there. lol Thanks for the great entry, man!

    Blessings,

    David

  • @burleyman40 maybe that's why I've never been a big bath taker? hahaha

  • I always knew you were a brick in the community hahahaha! Drive carefully Jay.

    L&R Colin.

  • @LightYerPipe I think it has a lot to do with the fact I'm full of it. hahahah

  • @dighsx I'm full of it too head full of totally useless information...I should go on these quiz shows where they win shit loads of money cos i always win at home hahahaha!!

    L&R Colin.

  • Well that us interesting! I have never meet anyone who couldn't float.

  • @nickandhispipe It's always been one of those things that people think I'm just doing to wrong, then try to show me how and then say "you can't float dude" hahahah

  • Hm, but you can swim? I don't think I've known anyone that can't float? interesting. thanks, gregg

  • @truckpipe I can swim enough to get back to the boat after they put me in the bag and toss me overboard. hehehe

  • I still think is the adamanitum...

  • @hjrosasq It's global warming

  • I'll bet the Sopranos could make you float, but you wouldn't enjoy it much. LOL

  • @ocpipeman I've got some inlaws that wouldn't mind me swimming with the fishes. hehehe

  • Have fun down state Jay.

  • @zenwoodworker I'll try. But it tends to be rather busy when I'm down that way. I'm not much for the city any more.

  • really? me too, not mch of a swimmer eithetr, but drive safe keep your pipelit, you arent underwater

  • @GTFiorano Nice to know I'm not alone

  • Ah! A kindred "negative bouyant" person! Yeah, I sink like a rock. It happens. Salt water, as you probably know, is a bit better. I took a Coast Guard "drownproofing" class years ago. It was in a pool. I would do the relax part, and just sink 10 feet down to the bottom of the pool.

That is when the instructor taught me that term. Check it out if you are not familiar with it.

  • @DannoCrutch So did the coast guard tell you to get lost? It does make swimming a bit more work as you can never fully just lay there and relax a bit.

  • this is way off topic but do you have a 2m radio or any type in the car?

  • @TheSeptemberone Yep I've got a Kenwood 710 in the car.

  • Very interesting. You still sink even if you inflate your lungs. Good entry Jay.

  • @dagnerperformance Yep even if I take a huge breath and hold it I sink right to the bottom.

  • Well this is the funniest one I've seen LOL.

  • @Matches860 It's sad but true. I sink like a stone.

    All the best,

    Jay
