  • I agree w/angelagottarock Darrly & John & Co put on absolutely superb concerts. After they finish 'Maneater', if you aren't on your feet screaming - you've got a hole in your soul. I saw them about 7-8 years ago in Chicago, double-billed w/Michael McDonald. They had 2 sax players in duet! It still ranks as one of the best I've ever been at. And I've seen Clapton, Hendrix, and the Beatles in concert. I recognize G.E. Smith on lead guitar, but who's playing Bass. he was in Schafers SNL Band ??

  • @ChicagoNeilcon Its Tom T-Bone Wolk, was in SNL band and was with Hall & Oates for years, just died suddenly a couple of months ago. He's an awesome musician.

  • I was so happy to find footage of this concert!! I was actually at this concert, and it was the best damn concert that I've ever been to!! The tickets only cost $5.00, it was a donation to the save the statue of Liberty. What also made it great, was that it was general admission,so the earlier you arrived, the better spot you got. HBO was there filming this concert, it was awesome, I'll never ever forget it!!

  • OMGosh, look at how young they are! Of course, I'm not one to talk since I was only 7 at the time of this performance - lol!

  • I love this song.

  • Wow...they really jammed this one out live. I dig those melodic funky keyboard riffs during the solo at the end.

  • Proper live performance indeed. It would be interesting to hear and see how the other songs turned out.

  • There is a swedish commercial going now for a while with this song, and i can't get i out of my head. 5 star

  • Can u post some songs from this concert like: Method of Modern Love, You've lost That Lovin' Feeling (etc.)

    Thanks

  • Brings back memories of when I was a kid back in the 80's LOL.

  • The Liberty Concert "hates commie scum"!

  • CANT THEY GET THIS ON DVD MAN?

  • They do, I own the DVD

  • Comment removed

  • I could tell this gig was alot longer than the real live aid 85 video. I wish it was longer in that video. G.E.Smith is awesome.. He really rocks.

  • you know I only knew GE Smith from his SNL band days wow he is amazing !!!

  • Note to all bass players: THAT, is how a bass should sound!

  • @Soul74 T Bone i miis you

  • @semiologia131 RIP T-Bone

  • So glad the Moonalice legend is getting around. More people should know about that band!

  • yeah i know, man. well GE's a personal guitar hero of mine, been following him my whole life, and this is what started it all for me. my love for guitars and all can be traced back to this! over 20 years, amazing!

  • GE is brilliant. You should catch him with Moonalice when they are in your area. It's a great band. Check them out. They are on utube.

  • Yes they are! I just saw them in sellersville last week and GE sounds as amazing as ever!

  • GE Smith also does a great job on Adult Education,,,this is a great concert. Not out on DVD to my knowledge.

  • to be honest GE kicked ass all over this concert, period!

  • G E Smith at his ultimate best!!

  • VERY GOOD COMPOSITION

the best of DARYL HALL AND JOHN OATES

    this i love song

GREETING from PERÚ Esta bien chevere la canción especalmente cuando estas viajando manejando saludos

  • GE rockin out with an SG here! great solo on this one, this was WAY better than live Aid!

  • Daryl sings it much better these days....pretty average vocal on this version...and what the hell is he wearing here my god! Still, gotta love Hall and Oates!

  • i think that was because it was the end of a long tour and Daryl sings with such raw emotion... still sounded great to me...

  • From the Liberty Concert, NYC 4th July 1985.

    GREAT !!

I'm looking for a better copy than mine ...

I hope D&H will make a release of this concert on DVD

    MANY THANKS

    Daryl is so cute !!!

  • i hope so too because there was alot more songs performed than released cause i have it on audio and the entire show was incredible. it wouldn't hurt to have an official live release cause this was a special show for the restoration of the statue and they did a nice rendition of Sara Smile with band solos... and jammed out alot of songs including this great version of maneater

  • i will give you ANYTHING to have a copy of that!!!!
