Ya, it is a LONG paddle out there when your surfing the cliffs around 5 - 12 whatever feet. I'm sure the channel your surfing next too is lie... 15 feet... maybe 20 feet deep? The bad part about the cliffs is the water is RARELY clear, which sharks like to hide in. There was a report/rumor featured on surfline around 2005 or so where a surfer claimed a shark took a chunk outta his board...
@dreamerinahammock Really? i've been surfing here for over 10 years year round and have seen none! But, some fishermen told me OUTSIDE the kelp beds are some big fish sometimes....
@MajesticAndRestless I can assure you regardless of how long you've been without seeing any that they're there. I've seen a dorsal fin and know of others who have as well. Regardless, the chances of a bite are slim to none and the beauty of that spot makes it well worth the paddle out. I'd be a lot more wary of the actual cliffs and dangers navigating them than the sharks.

Yea have fun getting out too with out dinging up y'rrr board id rather take the goat trail at blacks were its always 3 ft bigger too.
