  • he was a top bloke ... sorry for your loss

  • One of my favourite road racers of all time...if anyone was to beat Joey Dunlops record of wins around the TT it was this man...R.I.P. DJ

  • On road races wins the bravest,on a track the fastest.

  • FREE SPIRIT IN THE SKY GO GO GO

  • This is the game we play as riders, we know there is an inherent risk in what we do, the IoM TT is a race for the best of the best, but they still ride with the knowledge that one day, your number comes up, I think i can speak on behalf of all riders when I say we hope it happens in a nice soft place, but we all know that depends on the circumstances at the time. Anyway, RIP DJ, an incredible man, an incredible rider.

  • rossi may be a track rider, don`t think he would cut it on the roads

  • why would you dislike this..some respect for christ sake

  • I agree that Rossi would not race the TT but for sensible reasons. These riders have amazing skill but they have died. Surely given the choice these riders would prefer to be with their family rather in a coffin. The TT is amazing but why take this massive risk? Watching footage of these guys takes your breath away but it also takes theirs when it goes wrong. RIP

  • absolute wizard dj rip

  • Big man with a big heart!! RIP DJ. Keep it Real.

  • u r in the sky now u r in best place in the world stay near the god

  • Rossi gives all his respec to the racers of the IOMTT....and he says that he could never see himself doing what they do....Rossi is a true gentleman.

  • It takes skill on a track and on the road's but the biggest difference between Rossi,Biaggi or Dj,Britton isnt the size of the balls but its in Personality and Character, tdays stars in Motogp are Media controlled, Rossi tries but it isnt spontanic its planned and with aproval....... on the road scene there is a different atmosphere unique....Motogp Is Racing at the Higest level, Roadracing is a way of life...... my own modest opinion, Rip Dj n my fav Britton!

  • i don't think you can compare track riders and tt road racers as you have to be exceptional to do either its just the tt is a passion kinda race a kind of race you have to love in your heart or you cant otherwise understand it.

R.I.P DJ you where my racing hero and still are.

  • TT and Hill Climb, the sports of the modern day gladiators. Courage only a few men possess, R.I.P David Jefferies master of the TT and Also R.I.P Lionel Regal master of open wheel hill climb .... nobody will ever match their records, the real motorsport fans will always homage you as heroes.

  • lets face it, if you was Rossi with millions in the bank and everyone saying your the GOAT would you risk it all for the TT............... Yeah I bloody would

  • 1/2 b 4 rossi would come off. thats funny

  • Big David.

    Fantastic Road Racer!

    Sadly missed...

  • top bloke

  • My late partner was the sector marshall who was first on the scene at the big man's fatal crash; ghastly though it was, DJ wouldn't have known anything about it so didn't suffer, and at least he died doing something he loved.

  • Respond to this video... great tribute video. job well done as for this rossi crap about tt. its a complete waste of time comparing 2 riders from different events. im fan of both and love watching DJ past ride vids. lets say duggy lampkin vs rossi on a ostacle course but rossi its same comparison

  • that last bit was meant to say.... but rossi has to use his motogp bike on the course :)

  • R.I.P.

  • R.I.P

  • Respect & Honour , RIP DJ .

    @ Portugal @

  • good racer, rubbish tribute

  • I wish Evanescence would have been on that bike rather Jeffers.

  • great tribute to a fantastic road racer

  • A fitting tribute To an awesome TT racer :)

  • you gotta have balls to race any bike up to speeds of 200mph you gave rossi practice i bet he could lap the tt fairly fast.....Dj your a legend R.i.p

  • The original "Extreme Sport"....

  • r.i.p awsome rider would of gone on to winn many more tts

  • rossi even if he wanted to do it would not be allowed by his sponsors etc as he is a money making machine

  • Great Big Dave, I'll nevere forget you...

  • i belive they found the gear box off his gixxer on some ones shed roof the bike totaly disintergrated RIP BIG MAN only 9 days to go and im on the mannan

  • After being at the TT races and watched the riders go round the circuit, my conclusion is: GP and WSB etc is like watching the Magic Roundabout in comparison. The guys who ride the TT and the NW200 etc have BALLs of STEEL!!!!

Its Super scary stuff! I applaud them!

  • I think ..Rossi ,DJ ,Dunlop brothers,Mike, Ago, and many other are champion....and the other people are only human.. i'm human normal slower ....but the champion all champion can teach at the human can is possible to go fast ....but is not for all.

In memories of all gladiators of TT

  • D.J a true hero, now in heaven! R.I.P

  • Who ever wins on this track is a legend forever.

  • Rossi is the best rider on the earth...TT is only for who have nothing to lose.

  • RIP Big Man

  • Top rider and top bloke. If that oil wasn't on track he'd still be king of the TT

  • Respect

  • Ever N. 1 !!!!

  • he would still be cleaning up...

  • tt is really dificult cuz their tract is road...... you cannot deny their skills... they are best.. every run is between life and death.. but if rossi race their he also acquired a road racing skill..... if you got skill you still have it no matter what happens.....

  • rossi could

  • Rossi has track skill. Not Balls. I would give him 1/2 a lap at TT before he came off!

  • @inmanfamily - rossi can, i think.. he has a talented skill to the race..

  • @inmanfamily haha retard

  • @inmanfamily 1/4 of a lap before he shat himself bigstyle!

  • @inmanfamily shut the fuck up to idiot rossi skills >>>>>>>>>>>> every tt rider ever !

  • @inmanfamily it's stupid to compare both disciplines or riders, jeffries would have been good on the track though.

  • TWAT

  • @odonnellracing No need for that comment, Chief

  • He might, but it would take him many many years to get anywhere near Jefferies.

  • I'm always sad when i think of DJ's passing. RIP . NO one could boss a GSXR thou like you. period !

  • @likegravy

yeah the Gixxer thou is a monster. I can just about handle the production version lol.

  • Not everybody get away forever`Hope the man is riding hard and fast in God's country~Live hard~Play hard~Do what makes you happy~Cous you only get one chance~God Bless~And here's to The 'Better' Man~!

  • Is jefferies jump at olivers mount named after david?

  • Can't believe you had to ask that

  • sorry, but im only 15 and have only been to scarborugh once and havent heard of david jefferies, But i have looked at your videos and i near starkys bridge in donnington 2009 motogp

  • This year will be my 10th time at olivers mount! You need to get there! Better than MOTO GP!

  • a true legend gone but never forgot.xx

  • Great compilation.

RIDE FREE IN THE SKY DJ!

  • Nice montage, great music to accompany, very moving and inspirational!

DJ rode hard and was a consumate rider,....

Even tho he rides different colours, I admire the man for his achievements, his passion, his dedication,. and ultimately his sacrifice to the sport and passion.

Others may not understand,... but those that ride do,... and that's all that counts.

    R.I.P

  • R.I.P ride in paradise DJ and all that have lost there life on two wheels.

  • agree with you jochend87. when i got my first bike the honda cbr f4 600 i crushed it 3 months after at 140 km some how i survived, but i still wont give up on it

  • I miss watching him race so much. He was unreal fast. So sad he's gone... Great tribute, thanks.

  • No doubt, the guys on the TT are on a different level, think about how much GP dudes wipe and slide. No margin for error, those cobblestone walls don't give much. RIP DJ you rode to the edge. Only those that push the limits understand the need. When you are in the zone, nothing can go wrong. It was only a moment.

  • fuck it atleast he died doing what he loved...when i take my gixxer 1k out...everyones like becareful..you know what i say fuck it i die i died doing what i love......

  • You are absolutely right........ride fast ....ride hard or stay home.

  • brings me close to tears. God speed to all who died during racing!!! Be it DJ, Dunlop or Stefan Bellof in a car. You will never be forgotten!!

  • R.I.P DJ

  • I agree - Rossi is the master of road race circuits, but the IoM is another level altogether, requiring skill and nerves of steel, few can run this at the speeds of the top men. Mike Hailwood, Joey Dunlap, and DJ the masters forever.

  • @ossaracer what about fogarty!!!

  • Does he still hold the record?

  • No it is held now by John Mcguinness

  • within temptation - our last farewell was the better song for this video mate:P

it fit soooo good...sad that you changed it

  • true dude...most top level track riders could'nt cope with road racin...its a different world...thats what makes it so much fun to watch...imagine Rossi or Stoner tryin to master the mountain...ha ha...

  • @vonmetford thats just like saying imagine the tt lads in a motogp race they would get lapped

  • DJ was a true legend and think to ride at the tt u av to be a different bread of rider than u do to race on a track . Rossi has nothing on DJ .

  • What was the name of the other song?

  • Great tribute to an all time great still sadly missed DJ RIP

  • R.I.P DJ

  • HEADLIGHTS TO THE SKY...

  • DJ, my all time hero on two wheels. Makes me wonder how many TT wins he would have racked up by now. One thing is for sure, there will never be another DJ. A total one off. Missed here in N.Ireland.

  • great tribute!!!

  • See ya' big man! RESPECT!

  • yeah another great rider lost his life at the TT, RIP them all who were not lucky enough to reach the end, big names and unknown's too

  • I remember watching him ten years ago when I was just 15 years old. Wow! He was fucking awesome! DJ! PS....his dad seems like a cool guy too, makes total sense why DJ had such a great roadracing life! Conitnue to do what you love. Everyone dies, but not everyone lives!

  • these men have balls of steel.... respect to all tt racers...

    David will always be rem.

  • what a legend guy R.I.P

  • one of the best at it!

    God Speed

  • a big racer!

    Rest in Peace

  • You have change music on the video not? So yes, I would like to have the name of ancient thank you:)

  • D.J. always missed when i venture to the island.ive some fond memories of him that i will always remember.

    R.I.P.,big man. miss you.

  • may he R.I.P. much respect forever!!!

    cheers to David Jefferies

  • DJ was probably and possibly the best rider to grace the TT and he still died. The TT is both beautiful and deadly, one lack of concentration or a minor change of conditions on the track and you are in big trouble. RIP DJ.

  • He was good yes your right but the best rider to have graced the TT? no mate. What about Mcguinness, or Dunlop or Phill Mcallen?

Mcguinness is prob 5-6 stone lighter than Jeffries and he manages to wrestle a bastard of a fireblade putting out 200bhp round the track, much more powerful machines than the days of Jeffries R.I.P

  • maybe much more powerful than jefferies gsx-r...but easier to handle;)

david WAS the best....9 victories in 3 years....one laprecord after the other...mcguinnes couldn't beat him...now that he is gone...John is the best...right. but when big dave was alive...mcguinnes was second;)

  • Respect for ever!!!

  • The bravest men in the world! Most dangerous motorsport discipline.

  • R.I.P!

  • Respect for this guy!

  • blackpakichink what a nob you obviously have never had the balls 2 ride a bike especially like ppl who race. if youve got nothing good 2 say then keep your opinions 2 yourself cuz no one else wants to hear it! RIP DJ

  • I'll never forget the moment I heard DJ had been killed, it was like being hit with a sledgehammer.

RIP mate, the TT just aint the same without you.

  • LEGEND........

  • R.I.P

  • im from the isel of man i i really like him he was awsome and i wish he didnt die R.I.P dj you own

  • i wish i still seen him riding.....motorsport will never be the same

  • R.I.P

  • He was killed in 2003 whilst riding a Suzuki GSX-R1000. He crashed at Crosby at approximately 160mph (257 km/h)

  • Do not mean any disrespect to the Great Rossi!

    How unlucky was Cameron Donald!!

  • dj..........was he ever photographed without a smile on his face?......i dont think so.

superb rider way ahead on his day, cheers uk!

  • TT is true racing. nobody can race like them. I pull my head for every single one of them. no matter if successful or not

  • "No matter if successful or not" I do not know you my friend, but what a wonderful statement and sentiment. I left road bikes late seventies and only potter off road now but still follow IOM and Moto GP. You have soul.

    Best regards.

  • DJ WHAT A LEGEND RIP BIG MAN

  • Good vid man. R.I.P. David

  • tt riders are all heroes

  • cheers to a man who knew how to hustle a bike around the town. Tragic...

  • questi si che hanno pelo!

  • peggio della f1 a montecarlo...

  • tears u up watching this. this guy was an amazing rider. burn rubber not your soul DJ Rest in Piece Brother.

  • queste SONO GARE SUICIDE!!!!!!!

    Long Live the TT!

  • MASSIMO RISPETTO !!!!

  • Hold i szacunek najlepszemu z najlepszych....RESPECT 4 a great racer...R.I.P (great video)

  • A fuckin' legend right here!

  • I'm shocked! Didn't know this pilot was dead, because I'm not in bikes anymore. But I have the 2000 TT race on dvd that he won being the fastes by far.

    I'm very sorry.

  • R.I.P. MY IDLO!!

  • Did it get more cool than Jefferies flat out on the iOM.

A big boy and have to love Mcghuinness- Mt ROSSI COULD NOT DO THIS

  • mcguinness is great but rossi wudnt have stones 2do wat david an john do even finnegan wud tear d stones of rossi witout breakn sweat

  • i think this kind of racing is for a different breed. rossi is damn good and deserves alot of respect .....but i think this racing is more dangerous and does require more stones. i would say TT racers probably wouldn't necessarily excel in moto gp iether.

  • but could you imagine if rossi had a big pair of cahoolies and began racing the TT?! that would certainly be something.

  • Maybe Rossi couldn't do this, but would you say the same of Sheene or Roberts?

TT is a matter of both stones & experience, Agostini used to say that it took 3 years to get used to TT, and he won it 9 times

IMO Rossi has no less stones than Ago, the point is that TT was part of WC up to 70s and then riders was used to that kind of racing

Today TT is a race for specialists, heavy stoned riders of course, it's a quite different situation

  • R.I.P Buddy, Awesome Rider!

    Rest In Peace D.J!

  • Nice Tribute to a true HERO... R.I.P DJ

  • hes my idol still cant believe hes gone

  • possibly the greatest rider, he didnt deserve to die.

    always missed, always loved

    RIP DJ

  • Enjoy my friends.

Joey Dunlop is amazing- do it get more cool than mc guinness

  • R.I.P DJ (LEGEND)

  • Amazing rider !! without a doubt!

    R.I.P D.J !!

  • BIG respect; he was such a cool composed rider, in my opinion the best rider ever to ride the TT and great song choice, is it evanescence? if so whats song; and again touching, moving video.

  • Big respect, great song choice.

  • wonderfull GSX-R :O

  • I was waching the TT the year he died. I was only a mile or two away from where he died. RIP D.J.

  • UN MITO!!!!

  • legend

  • RIP

    el mas grande

  • Aw i actually remember meeting him and talking to him twice shortly before he died. It's a terrible lose.

    RIP DJ :[

  • THE BEST!! RIP DJ

  • D.J. THE BEST RIDER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He will always be my biking hero. Keep riding Dave wherever you are

  • RIP

  • R.I.P

  • one of the best

  • I work in a hospital and have seen many slow, painful deaths, and I saw my dad die the same way in a hospice. I would rather die doing somthing I enjoy doing. I ride a bike similar to those of tour de france riders, and have overtaken cars at around 45mph, often into and out of blind bends, with no gloves or helmet. If I died doing this it`d be a better death than a long, slow one in my death bed. "either come home with your shield or on it"

  • "often into and out of blind bends, with no gloves or helmet"

    ur joking? fucking dumbarse

  • Big DJ, him and duffus were unstoppable on the yellow v&m machines!! 2003! Unreal.

His death hit hector neil (tas team principal) very hard. From what I can remember Adrian Archibald (teammate) won a race at the same tt after his death and dedicated it to him.

    DJ, sadly missed.

  • song

    Evanescene - Imaginary

    Album: Fallen (2003)

  • Awesome video man!! Miss yah DJ!! I bought my 98 R1 cause of him and still love it!!

  • My TT Hero...Big Dave...Sadly Missed Never Forgotten.

    S.

  • What was the song the music label took off and does anyone know what it was and where i can get it?

  • Szacunek ...

  • TT is just not the same without DJ, it just feels like somethings missing....

2003?? cant believe it, but wow, what a guy.

    DJ- the best.

  • A true hero! Now in heaven...

  • God bless big man.
