Buddhism is more of an ancient psychology with insight into the human condition, its more logical than many of the other ideologies imo. The views are not enforced on anyone and the whole idea is to experience for yourself and realize rather than blindly put "faith" in something that is written down in some book. To be liberated a person needs to be free of all beliefs, you might think an atheist is just that but in truth atheism is his/her belief just as any religion is a belief of another.
Thankfully scientific research has made their argument invalid. Stem cells can be taken from skin cells, I believe that happened back in 2009 or 8, so they should check their facts theres no "babies" dieing anymore, its back to the abortion clinics for them.
You know? It seems like what he said came true. The militant atheist have become just regular atheist, and have moved on to other things. Not all of us, but if you look at the bigger atheist now, it seems they have either moved on or talk more about politics and philosophy.
@Voshk I think it's because most Atheists when first becoming aware of their views on religion feel very passionately about it and go through a phase where they feel the need to be very aggressive about it. It's kind of like they are releasing all of the anger they feel when realizing how truly evil religion is. Then once that rage is adequately vented they move on to other issues. I personally went through such a phase and since have revised my approach to religion I try to be much kinder now.
Just as poignant now as it was then. I respect TJ for taking on this endeavor of opening eyes one pair at a time in his own unique style. He's right that religious people are mostly just ordinary good people, but they're superstitious and gullible to the false beliefs that have plagued mankind for centuries.
Good point TJ! People can be good without religion! I am very caring and nice and I'm an atheist. I also want to help others but because I care not because I'm religious. & I also agree that religion is created to make people docile & obedient. I went throught the same thing & it took me LEAVING church for good (and like you said leave the spell that it literally puts over you) to realize that I had been controlled. & don't get me started on the gay thing & them getting thrown out for being gay.
