Everyone in Arcade Fire is a multi-instrumentalist, meaning they all play 2 or more instruments proficiently, what instruments does Lady Gaga play? None, she doesn't even make her own beats....

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry both write their own lyrics and they both write their own back up stuff. Lady GaGa playes piano and Katy Perry plays guitar. Born This Way was written by lady GaGa as she said that when she won for the fame monster and Katy Perry wrote Not Like The Movies. They are good artists and have great quality stuff. I have to say every single one of the artists up for that award should have won, they all are great.

Lady Gaga has wrote all of her songs and someone else only co-wrote 2 of hers, she has spent half her money she has made on her own performances and videos beause the label wont give her enough, she also says exactly say what she wants in her all videos and if she doesn't get it her way she always finds a way too :) Im a big fan lol, as you can tell

I'm a huge Arcade Fire fan, but you are totally clueless about Lady Gaga. Do some research before spouting off. Also, while AF is more talented as an ensemble, Gaga is pound for pound more talented than anyone in AF.

@aeest400 I'd give Gaga more credit for her talent, but she is just so utterly ridiculous, it's a turnoff to me. I do think Arcade Fire's music is more meaningful than anything Gaga comes up with, and I love that they came out with the win, especially considering all the big name stars.

@jjenkies I'm stoked Arcade Fire won--I waited in line for 8 hours for their secret show that Friday (and got the last pair of tickets). However, I think Gaga has tons of talent (watch some of her performances, like with Yoko Ono). Gaga strives to make meaningful music as she understands it. She doesn't rise to the level of Arcade Fire, but there is a moral impetus and desire for honesty in many of her songs. Also, she's a very hard worker.

Totally agree with this. Congrats to Arcade Fire and very well deserved, far more than the other 4 nominees. Would have liked to see Titus Andronicus win with the Monitor because that was without a doubt worthy of the album of the year, but mainstream popularity will almost always win out (except in this rare case).

I got to agree with this video... Arcade Fire has way more depth when it comes down to the music they create. Both in musical theory and lyrics. If you hear any of the other nominees, you don't really have to think too hard about what the music means... self explanatory. Arcade Fire actually creates poetry within their music, making it worthy.
