  • best, and it is so modern and for fact this shit realy does go on in real life. And that it all took place and no real dialoge or speak about the evil.. it was all kind of subliminal. the ear shot, the girl getting tossed out window.. i feel like im in my job again in an art gallery.... not laughing.

  • @weseethroughu What in God's name are you talking about?

  • @KajiCarson I'm TALKING ABOUT FACT THAT WITCHCRAFT AND THIS KIND OF SHIT DOES GO ON AND ITS A TIMELESS SUBJECT AND IF PEOPLE SAW IT IT WOULD GO DOWN THAT WAY. MOST OF THE BS WAS LIKE THIS SILENT GAME. THE GIRL BEING TOSSED OUT THE WINDOW AND THEN THE SHOT WITH THE EAR OF DR... IN MOVIE. ITS NOT ABOUT CALDRENS AND BREWS ITS ABOUT PEOPLES MINDS AND INTENTIONS. IN NYC TO.

  • @weseethroughu Calm yourself down, you hysterical little child. The only reason witchcraft is a "TIMELESS SUBJECT" is because the world is filled with irrational mystics like yourself who'll gladly believe any bullshit.

  • LaDY GAGA, AT OLD AGE,.

  • @weseethroughu

or britney spears in another 3 years

  • "The visual of the characters was more important than acting abilities". Interesting.

  • <3 just saw this movie in bryant park....awesome!!!

  • This is one of my fav movies ever - it is chilling to watch poor RoseMarie try and start her life decorating the apartment, trying to get pregnant all the while surrounded by evil witches. The contrast between good/evil and bouncing back and forth during the film keeps me on edge. I notice in the film the colour yellow is prominent in the furnishings and her clothes which strikes me as symbolic of her personality and outlook at the beginning. Ruth Gordon was also great as the wacky neighbour.

  • Ruth Gordon. A-maaazing. Period!

  • Freedom to Roman Polanski!!!

  • @Pmitsou123 another jew who supports a pedo rapist how surprising...your talmud condones pedophilia and rape so it's not shocking that one jew- pedo - rapist praises another jew -pedo-rapist...anyways jewpedo he is free....

  • Fantastic movie. Wished they made them like that today.

And Polanski has certainly aged well.

  • My gosh! He secretly drugged a 13 year old girl, he raped the girl, he committed anal sodomy, etc.

All the mainsteam refers to these crimes as though these are crimes.

I thought they were against child rape, child sodomy, child drugging for sexual purposes, etc? Micheal Jackson, Catholic Church, etc.

Whatever group is paying for this great media spin, they sure have pull in the media!

  • What a beautiful voice Polanski has! *swoons*

  • @Gabiwynne What kind of girl crushes on Polanski? Hmmm?

  • Look, folks. In 1967, Polanski hadn't raped anyone. He then not only made the best film of his career, he made one of the very best post-war movies ever. And no one realized. Or perhaps it was sheer jealousy screwing Farrow, with her 22 years outshining every fucking movie actress up to that moment, out of her Oscar NOMINATION. We talking about perversion and corruption? There you have them.

O, and there's rape, and rape. And little Misses Lollipop and their ambitious mothers.

  • @dedeurs he never raped anyone, neither did kobe bryant neither did micheal jackson neither did tupac neither did the founder of wikileaks.. rape is almost impossible to prove because once you have consensual sex and she has your DNA all over her she can get on that stand and cry and lie for that million dollar settlement and you can beat your ass if theres one women in that jury you are fucked...happened to tupac.. happened to kobe lets not forget

  • Polanski looks like Danny Kaye

  • @getoutofmyway01 Danny Kaye was a blonde! ha ha

  • @getoutofmyway01 interestingly they are both Jewish and Eastern European so perhaps you picked up on a genetic thing. well spotted.

  • THANKS!! And thanks for the information. I didn't know that about them...! :)

  • You are welcome.... x

  • What Roman Polanski did is unforgivable and I will not protect it. But Rosemary's Baby is still one of my favorite movies ever and he is a great director.

  • @farawayreach just read what you just wrote... are you insane? every normal human is against pedophilia, child porn etc isn't that obvious? how can you be so racist? do you even know where Europe is? do you know its history? whoever reads your idiotic comments is gonna be disgusted, didn't it occur to you?

Polanski, if he's guilty, he should pay for what he did, that is not for you to decide. And if you have something against men... well, no wonder, have you checked the mirror today?

  • FREE Polański!!!

    Romek trzymamy kciuki

  • @farawayreach good thing you know what really happened

  • yes it IS is a DAMN good thing I and every other proper thinking, decent individual who values our children over your stupid movies knows EXACTLY what that filthy, disgusting PERVERTED cho-mo did that day...and you know what he did that day too...but you LIKE it...you LOVE it....you FAP to it....that's why you defend it, sicko!

  • You may not know this but Mia Farrow sings the lullaby in the opening of the film.

  • Finally -

This is the first time I've seen the acknowledgment that it's Tony Curtis' voice on the phone, when Rosemary finds out that Guy got the other actor's tie, and was thus able to make him go blind through witchcraft. I always recognized the voice and wondered why it was never publicized who it was.

My favorite scene is when Rosemary uses the Scrabble letters to figure out that "the name is an anagram", and her neighbor is a witch.

  • Thanks for posting

  • The best horror flicks play with your mind.

  • don't really give a shit what evans has to say about anything actually

  • I read in a book about scandals that evans had trouble with a movie called, "The Cotton Club"

  • And the music, why no one mentiones it? Important part of the atmosphere, if not crucial.

  • Like Halloween!

  • And...the music from polish jazz composer Krzysztof Komeda...and polish director Roman Polanski, who wrote and directed the film, was nominated for Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.

  • (Part 2 of 2) I agree with the consensus sentiment that Ruth Gordon played an important/vital role that further enhanced the entertainment value of this film; she had such a dynamic charisma whenever she was in the scene (very genuine). Creepy. The drama was laid out in just the right place, allowing the viewer to really hang onto the suspense, and (in the end) wonder what will ultimately happen to all of the characters (especially Rosemary and her baby). These interviews were very detailed.

  • struggling actor (played by cassevetes) and his unemployed wife (farrow) move into the dakota, the same building john lennon and rex reed lived in!!! not exactly a realistic setting.

  • In the world of the movie more than likely there was no John Lennon and Rex Reed, and if there was, they definitely did not live in that building. That is understood

  • Eeek I just read that back - Not being disrespectful, I didn't mean your computer mouse, I meant the chocolate mous(s)e in the film of course!! :)

  • I feel comments should be about the posting of these two very interesting videos, which I really enjoyed.. so quieten down and eat the mouse..

  • Again...... Peace. Over and out.

  • You prove my point friend -- it was never proven in court as the accused fled, LOL. Public figures do in fact give up some rights to privacy do say otherwise is disingenuous; however, he has a right to make movies (great movies), and we the viewers have a right to ponder the character of filmmakers and decide whether or not to support their work. My original comment 3 mos ago was responded to with varying opinions, I am not the only one somewhat perturbed by his behavior. Anyway, Peace.

  • I'm sorry that you feel that a person with concerns who sincerely asks others for help with them is being judgmental. One of my concerns is that by fleeing the country no judge or jury has ever made a determination as to Mr. Polanski's guilt or innocence, however if you read my response to Mr. Midwest I accepted that he may be right, at this point the girl/now woman in question has forgiven him. She was only 13 though, so as I said, I wish there had been more of a clearcut resolve to the case.

  • Ambiguous ending? I didn't find that at all when I saw it a few years ago. Everything she saw and figured out added up, and in the end the baby's eyes are fucked and everyone's yelling "hail Satan." So what's ambiguous about them being what they profess?

  • I fucking loved Ruth Gordon in this movie. "Why don't you and Guy come over and have suppah with us tonight, come on, whatdaya say?" She stole every scene she was in.

  • She was such a superb actor. So much energy!

  • I don't get some things..perhaps never will. Polanski fled the US charged with sexually abusing a 13 yr. old girl. He has many, apologists & clearly is a fabulous filmaker. But can anyone explain to me why he gets a pass. The mother of the girl should not have been "pimping" her out but does that make it OK for a man in his 40's to have taken advantage of the situation? Is it immoral only if one is caught? Why do the rich & famous not see a problem? I would really like to know.

  • The girl has forgiven him. Doesn't her opinion matter the most?

  • Yes, perhaps you are right MrMidwest, I don't claim to know my only claim is to confusion. I do wish that there had been a better "resolve" in the case. Selfishly I suppose. I would like to view his movies without feeling slightly "shady" for enjoying them. I don't like to feel that I am tacitly acknowledging the "legitimacy" of deviancy.

    Thank you for responding.

  • i dont think it matters, he still committed a crime. many girls are minipulated by their molesters so maybe her judgement wasnt the best. and your right her mother is to blame just as much as roman polanski.

  • I don't think he's had the opportunity manipulate her for a long time.

  • a moment is enough

  • Perhaps, but if we're going to speculate about what why she feels the way she feels, there's also the possibility that she's quite a strong person now who has given a lot of thought to what happened and has come to terms with it.

  • sounds like bullshit. i hate to be suzie downer but she could have committed suicide behind it.

  • What's bullshit? She could've, but she didn't.

It seems like people try to cast her as a victim for the rest of her life to serve whatever argument they want to present, regardless of whether she wants to be seen in that light or not.

  • You can't present a solid argument, so you ask the person you're talking to if they're a pedophile? People like you don't care about Geimer, you just want to attack Polanski to prove to everyone how very moral and upstanding you are. Go volunteer at a rape crisis center if you really want to do the world some good.

  • my feeling was "whats the point of arguing with a pedophile? it turns him on reguardless." i don't understand how any rational person would argue on the behalf of someone who confessed to druging and raping a 13 year old girl. is it immoral to criticize someone for raping a kid? if you're criticizing me for that then that says so much about you. im not being self righteous. im saying hes a sick coward who got away with something disgusting.

  • i heard recently that he drugged her and she was 13. he confessed. good thing his request to come back in the us was denied.

  • I love this film!

THANK you for uploading this 2-part retrospective, my Dear. :)

    -- Abbie

  • What about Gigli?

  • Gigli? Jennifer Lopez? OK. Maybe you ARE right!

  • No!

    Mia Farrow far outshines Lopez!

    Rosemary's Baby v Gigli?

    NO WAY!

  • agreed
