If you follow my OO Programming in Java videos I will show you how to create classes, inherit them, use abstract classes as well as interfaces and most basic OO features. I don't really teach low level beginning programming skills that you would get in a basic "How to Program" class but I am planning to start this in Jan. As for starting Java Programmer, it depends where you are and what type of job you get. Junior programmers usually make more then average IT jobs. It depends on the job.
