Snakes are very powerful symbols of healing, in every era and lots of cultures! It's not necessary a negative thing :)

Interesting about the vision flashes. The "deflating" you mention regarding your body muscle may also be a reduction of overall inflammation. BTW, I love the topic of astral traveling. Wow.
