@dakota1000000 Well, to be fair, there is a prologue for each game, it's just included in a separate (kanji) text file that few people ever seem to read. That sets up the information nicely, while keeping it aside so people who don't care as much can jump right into the action.

To all people confused about the Sanae thing:

The reason she came in as a cameo along with Yukari was mainly due to Yukari's winning dialogue against her in hisoutensoku: "How is it? Getting used to this place?"

The dialogue, as well as the sprite used, led some (including this guy) to believe that Yukari brought Sanae to Gensokyo.
