I've lived in York all my life and it is a beautiful place to live. And you never get tired of the scenery!

Been there like 8 times now over the last 4 years. Was there to visit my, then fiancee, and we married in Texas a couple weeks ago and we're trying to get my spousal visa. Can't wait to live in York. I love it and The Shambles, the buskers, the River Ouse, Clifford's Tower, the ghost walks, and oh my tastebuds.....Caeser's (the best pizza I've ever put into my fat American face lol)

We honeymooned in York and always try to have at least 1 weekend a year there.

Beautiful City,wonderful buildings,great shops for the wife,loads or real ale in every pub and no chavs in shellsuits.

My daughter and I spent four days in York a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. We took train trips to Leeds and Scarborough while were there, too.  It is an amazing place. We stayed at a B&B on Queen Anne's Road and walked the short distance to town. I would love to go back. Less than 2 hours from London on a high speed train!

York is the most beautiful city in England, full of friendly local people and wonderful shops and attractions. I live in Cambridgeshire and every month on jy day off I hop on a train and have the day in York. Everytime

york is a beautiful city, and very welcoming =) the weather, the atmosphere, and the people are all very very nice! its a small city, however its so abundant of warmth and hospitality, and you can feel the what's the real England like by visiting it.

Because university is about living and moving on so i can't stay here, but i would love to go to York uni.

I have really enjoyed reading all these comments. I love York. I was born there, and although we moved away when I was four, we returned every yaer to visit relatives, right down to the time when my auntie died in 1994. If you are born in York I think you always have this deep love for the city. I am 54 now and I know I will always love the city where I was born.

Man, I love this city. I had the honor of being a part of a visiting choir in residence for a week at York Minster a couple of summers ago; singing Evensong in that space was an unforgettable experience.
