  • Scary clowns, scary clowns everywhere!

  • i totaly want to play this in band class, im trombone ^_^

  • Our marching band played this!

  • phendformyself

    YOU TOO?!!!!

  • I want to see a marching band try to play this...

  • To all those critical of this interpretation: Dr. Foster's LEGACY has earned the "100" the artistic license to express this piece with the appropriate regard for THIS ensemble. Do your research to put perspective on the matter.

  • Some here criticize the tempo, as deviating from the metronome markings. Yet I remember being told that "circus tempo" is the fastest any march is ever played. I had heard this as a young student from my music teacher, who had played with John Phillip Sousa's last band (1927-1932). I also remember discussing it once with my wife's grandfather, who was the bandmaster at the Old Howard, a famous Boston burlesque theatre, and also led the band when the circus came to Boston Garden.

  • I never thought this piece could be played this bad. It so easy to play, and even so, you guys saw the chance to ruin it! Horrible!!!

  • Disgracefull performance by a "conductor" who apparently is blind or stupid enough to think he knows more than the composer, look at the metronome mark. Just one continuos noise...

  • TENOR SAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Long live to the GREAT CIRCUS

  • I like to fuck while listening to this song.

  • FAMU rocks

  • Sousaphones suck. Use real tubas please.

  • @beaglemanzzz it's a marching band.........

  • @jddand769

Does it look like they're marching right now?

  • @beaglemanzzz ... They're STILL a marching band.

  • @LordKajimaru

I'm in a marching band and we have both concert tubas and contras, so why shouldn't they have concert instruments?

  • @beaglemanzzz THey are in a small sectional form of their band (which has 450+ members usually) so they can't have 50 tubas and sousaphones for both settings, especially sincethey rarely if ever have sitting concerts with no movement or dancing. And I would assume this some sort of concert for parents and/or incoming freshman who want to how the band sounds, so it isn't truly a 'concert', it's more of a preview.

  • @andyk10013

Oh. I did not know that.

  • This is TOO FAST. it's almost painful to hear..

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 It's a Screamer it's supposed to be played FAST

  • the school district that i work at uses this as a fight song starting at 1:03 till the end

  • Imagine this in a sex scene

  • Its really fast.... I love it.

  • does anyone other than me think the tempo is too fast? I don't think it would be physically possible to play it any faster.

  • raveeeee

  • Great!

  • EPIC

  • This sure rings true...bring on the Circus... where are the clowns!!!!!LOLOLOLOLOL

  • YEA TROMBONE!

  • @JeFFxBoJaNGleZz omg YES! TROMBONESS:D

  • our symphonic band played this last year... and we weren't as great as these guys >.>

  • damn... our school is going to play this?! so fast TT-TT

  • Oh my gosh!!! that was ahh-mazing:)

  • gives the eastman wind ensemble a run for their money ..the piccolo player is awesome.

  • @larryglass61..."gives the Eastman Wind Ensemble a run for their money??" You are quite mistaken...I've searched online to find good recordings of this song, and the Eastman Wind Ensemble has THE best performance of this march, no questions asked. Even if this video had better sound quality, it would still fail in comparison...The overall clarity and sound quality is unparalleled...however, let me know if you think you find a better recording of it...I doubt it..

  • @larryglass61 lol and thats not even there symphonic band it is their pep band lol

  • they are the best HBCU band.....Anyone differ go jump in a fire please!

  • even though fam is the best band in my opinion they could have brought more life into this perticular peice but overall it was ok but this is one of the first that didnt like bring me to my feet but still they are awsome lol

  • Awesome performance by any standards! What are some of you guys, deaf? Jeez! Keep tearing it up FAMU!

  • very well but i find it on the limbiing scales with the piccolos and flutes somewhat of a mumble this song needs power in fact the whole band needs to give life to the song but i love the dynamics and cresendos of the band

  • not Thunder and Blazes...

    Entry of the Gladiators!

  • it goes both ways dallas wind symphony played it and on their program it said " Thunder and Blazes"

  • Thunder and Blazes is the copyrighted version, made in 1910 by Louis-Phillipe Laurendeau.

  • @NARFNra 1903: Thunder and Blazes March (Entry of the Gladiators) [Opus 68] :: Julius Ernst Wilhelm Fucik, (1872-1916); revised and fingered by Maurice Gould

  • It's both. Or if you wanna get European, it's "Grande Marche Chromatique" (spelling might be different...not sure about it)

  • Come on FAMU!! I have heard you do this one much better! Forgiveable since it IS sumemr orientation. Still my favorite HBC band!

  • its a cirqcus march its supposed to be fast at least 130-160

  • agreed, a tad to fast...but amazing they can play it so well at that speed

  • way too fast, and it sounds as though there were times when they needed to tongue the notes but they slurred it..it still sounds great

  • I thought it was pretty good, except, it seems too fast to me.

  • damn .. Allegro Vivace ? haha

  • Einzug der Gladiatoren

  • Ist das nicht Einzug der Gladiatoren?!

  • Ya!

  • not that bad guys..

  • poo!

  • There´s a difference between well played and loud and fastly played

  • You are being a bit stereotypical. Fast yes but not loud. Give credit were it is due even if you don't like the people playing the song. Besides being fast it was a great performance.

  • When I heard this, I felt like throwing nuclear bombs all over the planet. This music tastes like strawberries in chili sauce. The horror, the horror!

  • wow i havent played this since the 2003 rose parade with pasadena tournament of roses marching band

  • This song is composed by Julius Fucik. It's original title is "Entrance of the Gladiators" - and was not intended to be for circuses...

  • they are at 152 in the beginning and then in the Trio go to around 148, then A tempo. I have my Metronome in front of me and set it with the Band, and thats what I got. ANd man, this band cam't stay in one tempo for more than a few seconds. Bugs me.

  • I difference of 4 beats per minute, seriously get a life.

  • Krawuzi kapuzi

  • Listen my musical Cohorts! FAMU is known (famed) for their uncanny ability to play in & most importantly, remain in tune throughout a piece; BRAVO! Do you not hear the studio quality of almost every one of their performances? I dare u 2 listen to any of a variety of mediocre sounding bands that doesn't focus on sound like FAMU, & u will run from the intonation! LOL! I love FAMU's band for superb taste & display of musicianship & hope to visit 1 day to see if this remarkable sound is real! Hail S

  • Good playing. The speed can come down a little bit and when the flutes have the medlody in the middle, don't overpower them. One section is overpowering them everyone else.

  • the speed spoils it, and i prefere the orchestral version but its a good effort considering the speed at which it was taken.

  • my school is plaing march of thunder i get to play bells

  • wow bells...big fun!!!!!!!!! yay bells!

  • now dats hard wuts da speed ov ad tempo soundz like 120

  • nah cant be 120 bcuz that is marching tempo ..this definetly isnt marching tempo i'd say its around 142

  • 165

  • DAYUM!!! That was just...DAYUM!!!

Those pics!!! And 'bones!! And clarinets!!! And...DAYUM!!

  • wow go trombones!

  • I think the speed of 120 sounds better

  • BARITONES ALL DAY

  • I cant wait to see how this year turns out... Gonna' be my first yr in the band and I know its gonna be fiya' goin' offa' this clip. I've never heard them sound this crisp and clean...

  • damn if we sound like that in the summer with 1/4 of the band, imagine in the fall. southern is done!!!!

  • dawg yall betta give it to southern

    igtox 01 #3
