i remember i was scared of the ambiant foot steps sounds when i first enterd the red forest but after a while i got used to them , so one day i heard the foot steps and i was like ' eh just ambiant sounds ....' and then a bloodsucker jumped on me ! ... i had to replace my chair due to the horrible smell of pee.

I used to hunt Bloodsuckers and other game in that forest.. With a knife, lots of med-kits and easier difficulties. It worked quite neatly, at that. Doesn't mean it was all shits and giggles.

from what i've been hearing red forest seems like a good place to test out your skills....or get your ass kicked. this game is a real pain in the ass compared to SoC and CoP

i remember the creapiest place of my life

ahhh when i first entered there no itwas the secon time because i diedin 3 minutes the first time so as i was saying the Second time i entered i knew that there are LOTS ofmonstrers there and you have to "respond" to an SOS signal i searched the guys one of them had a shotgun i took it i was going by the road when a bunch of psuedodogs attacked me i ran and i noticed that i didnt took any ammo so i only had 8 shotgun bullets against 10-15 psuedodogs

The Red Forest is Hell, only that Greenpeace came in and planted some trees. Thank God for the fast-travel services, I hated to even do the dash from the southern entrance to the traveler's camp.

I'm pretty sure that Call of Pripyat will have fast travel too, but in a way being forced to travel on foot by yourself all the time made you appreciate how creepy and dangerous the zone actually is. Anomalies around every corner and unseen mutants waiting to tear your heart out at every opportunity does not make for a safe journey.

Oh, same. I hated those fucking pseudo dogs. I couldn't tell which was the real one because it was so dark and there were so many bushes. also, make sure that you get to the teleport when you are absolutely sure that a pack of snorks isn't coming for the group that you lead to that weird spot that has the giant mutant.

Well, after you reach the psi-anomaly hotspot with the group of loners, a pack of snorks will come and attack you no matter what. Just keep either a Winchester 1300 or a SPAS-12 shotty in hand(use buckshot) and you'll do a quick job of finishing them. I found out that an upgraded, buckshot-loaded SPAS-12 chops and dices anything from rats to boars, and finishes off most "undead" mutants with one headshot.

the red forst IS hell. It is BEYOND HELL. To walk in and out of there in 1 piece is a MIRACLE. However I went in there several times during my several gameplay sessions and collected all the artifacts and shot many many monster and worst of all got lost many many times in the night. All that wasted medkit and anti-rad. =( .... =).... =D

imagine playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R on a good pc,but no propper graphics card,so it is even darker,and being chased through red forest with..i think they are called bloodsuckers and snorks,maybe? the jumping gas mask bastards and the ones with tentacles for mouths.

but yeah,i had no night vision at the time either,i had just gotten some new armour and needed to get it installed.

going through red forest at night without night vision... that the most creepiest part of a game i have EVER played and i have played a lot of scary games :O and the thing i most hatet was that there where footstep sounds of bloodsuckers althought there werent any bloodscukers arround. those damn guys from GSC sure know how to scare a lone Stalker xD

I remember the red forrest, it was a scary place, very scary and large. So many snorks and bloodsuckers around, jumping on me and coming out of no where. I could here them but not see them, and dont forget those scary chernobyl dogs. The ones that generate a bunch of illusions of themselves and you have to kill the real one. It was dusk when I was there. And even though it was scary as hell, the whole zone is absolutely beutiful. I gotta start a new game.
