@anapplefanboy That's not a problem for me. If you feel like passing along a little credit or a link to the original, that would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy!
@will3792 Primarily because it's helpful for people to know how much time they have to talk/get coffee/use the restroom/etc. before service starts. At least that's how I see it. Hopefully that's helpful info.
@will3792 Ideally, you're absolutely correct, but people's watches aren't synched to the church clock, and sometimes it's necessary to start a few minutes late, and this is a great way to communicate that fact.
If only we could afford to issue atomic watches to everyone! :)
Simple but very nice :). I'm also trying to make a countdown for our youth ministry but i have one question: every countdown i see counts down with frames (so from 30 to 0 or 25 to 0), but why not with hundredths of seconds? wouldn't that be nicer?
@o0Hawkeye0o You're totally right. At the time, I just used the timecode effect to create the countdown. I wouldn't do that again if I was making another one.

Hi, i like this video very much, would you please explained a little more each step you have done, i´m a beginner on this and i really wanna learn how to do this. thanks a lot and its a nice job
hi, i think is great this video, but, please, i´m a beginner in this, so can you explaine a little more what you have done on each step. congratulations and thanks
Actually there is an easier way. What I did was create a new black solid and added the effect "Timecode" under Text effects. Then I copied and flipped the layer and applied a gradient to get the reflection. Hopefully that helps.
Can I use this in a video? (:

@melonhead616 i believe something invented in the 1700s might serve as a better substitute.
what is that invention? The Watch!

Yeah, I found VideoCopilot's preset not long ago. Seems to be much faster for reflections.
Thanks for the kind words.

So you just created a text block, and edited the text every second?
Wish there was an easier way. :/

Nice! Didnt know about the timecode... But there is a faster solution for reflections... And you could even make it real 3d in after effects..
But that may be overkill for a countdown though...
Thanx for the tip, and nice job!

@Oteki08
no. you put a text affect on a solid layer.
