Agreed EA did an amazing job with Dead Space. They raised the bar in the survival-horror genre. I'm pretty sure Capcom took notes but I don't have a clue what the next RE game will offer. I would like to see a true sequel to RE4.

I would like the next RE game to have Leon (my personal favorite character along with Jill) as the protagonist. RE4 is excellent it revolutionised the series but it still had scary moments. I enjoyed RE5 but its more action than survival-horror. No matter if it's the T-Virus Las Plagas or Uruboros us gamers face I want Capcom to bring back that scare factor.

darksiders could be the best game of 2010 and there are a lot of good ones coming out this year like red dead redemption, lost planet 2, crackdown 2 and hopefully rage and dead space 2 will be out this year also. 2010 will be like 2007 when it comes to the quality of games we will see.

@QuietstormRB, dead space was amazing! it proved to me that you could have a great 3rd person horror game with good controls and still be scary. i like some of the resident evil games like remake and re4 but the controls were tank like. maybe capcom will learn from dead space and make a great RE game with good controls.

their is no open world exploration. the levels are just really big.

depends on how you define "open world."

There isnt open world in the same sense as GTA like one big area with no breaks..however there is in the same sense as in Zelda Ocarina of Time.

As in there are several large levels connected by a few giant centrel levels and you are able to move between them freely.

Call that what you like...the way i see it it falls under the catagory of open world.

And really..no matter what you call it its very different than Gow,dmc and the like.

how about a couple more things!

4: throwing objects: picking up cars and hurling them at your enemies. or you can just swing them around.

5: non linear progression. your not forced to do the every level in a preset order.

its obviously different than gow to anyone who knows the games. dont get me wrong..its in the same genre so youll see some similarities.

but its like saying call of duty and gears of war are the same cause they both feature shooting with shotguns and sniper rifles.

First lets point out some obvious differences from GOW.

1.Open world exploration.

2.Mount system: the horse can be called and dismissed on the fly in most open areas, you can use many of yoru weapons while on it.

3. Deep Range Combat: you can fire your range weapons at your locked target but you can also enter a free aim mode (like a shooter) by clicking the right stick andf aim at key points of your enemies.

Besides GOW borrowed ideas from previous games. its how the industry works.

Darksiders is NOT a GoW/DMC clone; the only element it borrows from said series is the combat and THAT'S it. There is an exploration aspect and puzzle-filled dungeons from games like Metroid and Zelda; combine these two features and you have a unique action/adventure title.
