The health and damage model for infantry and guns is also very far from realistic. In fact a list of everything that is not realistic wont fit in a youtube comment.
Pretty much the only realism in that game is the physics.
This game looks very professional. despite the lack of good graphics I think I would deffinitely still play this. Is there actually this much tactic in the game? and are all firefights usually this long range?

It's the first game of its kind. Completely unique. Players form up and coordinate assaults or defenses over a 100+ kilometer front. Weapon ballistics are accurately modeled to what they actually were. Vehicle armor thickness and penetration values of AP rounds, HE rounds ect. are all accurately modeled. No sandbox gaming. Objectives are laid out by an officer and carried out by the players.

The second set of requirements that you don't meet are going to be the new requirements.You can still play for sure, just not at max settings and the such.
You can try out the 15 day free trial to see how your computer handles it. No need to pay 15$ first. Just fill out the info they want and you're free for 15 days. BUT if you don't like the game or it's too lagy, then cancel your subsciption or else you will get billed 15$ at the end of the trial. Honestly though, it'll be worth every penny.

the game has changed a lot since it's 2001 realese. back in 01 the game had like Super mario 64 grafics, now it's more or less like 2007 type games. your gonna need a somewhat good comp to play this game. especially enough RAM, because there is a never ending landscape.
I agree. What I love about this game is that you dont have 12 year old kids goofing off, and trying to ruin the game for others because they think it's fun. The game is complex, and the players are dead serious so it makes it impossible for people to goof off and ruin it for everyone. God i use to hate playing Multi games and having some clown teen killing his own team members or lagging behind so to watch the rest of your team killed for laughs. Price, and complex keeps the idioits off it.
I always loved how you could tell how long a battle has been raging by looking around at the carnage. Dead bodies stay there for I think 6 hours? Vehicle hulks I thought stayed there for 6 hours as well.
Very cool to see the carnage a firefight leaves behind.
I think the hulks disappears after 30 minutes. But still that is more then most other games has. They don't even has hulks "because it would ruin the oh precious frame rates". ;-)

The fee goes to server maintainance and game development. This game is far from finished eight years after it release. Its evolve all the time and is getting better and better as times goes.

Not my video, but I do play. No there isn't friendly fire. The game is alot of fun and this video is a good one that shows how "hot" things can get. But it doesn't show just how bad it can get in battle. The red flashes and explosions in this video are frequent, but I've been in a cp or spawn building where there non stop and it seems like you can't move or find your way out of the building. It's not very graphic, but that is good for those without an expensive computer.
I couldn't tell you an exact number but there are thousands of players for both sides. Those players are scattered out across several towns. You'll find most players where the most fighting is going on or whereever they feel they are needed most. Some times it is slow with only a few players in a town. Other times you'll find hundreds of players fighting at once and dead bodies piling up. Joining a good squad will help you learn faster. I am on 53rd (Allied) but there are several good squads.
This game is totally awesome. Just frigging amazing.
If you let the graphics bother you then that would be a damn shame. I'm always too engulfed in what's going on around me than standing there staring at graphics.
Consoles can never handle this game, it does make your computer break a sweat rendering 6 kilometers in all directions. A conmsole only renders, what, 300-1000 ft on most games?

Yeah! The team behind World War II Online have done something no other game house has been able to do. It is a very small team, but they are dedicated and plays the game themself all the time.
No other game has the same awesome features like WWII Online. Biggest continous map with some 600 town & villages. visual sight of up to 8km and unlimited numbers of players on the same server.
Gives awesome big battles that goes on for hours and hours. :)
I am very impressed with this game after 5 days of trial. The first day was a total bummer but now that I got some kills I'm very enthused for my next paradrop. I finally said fuckit and dropped in the heat of it all. instead of way out and got a couple kills right away instead of waiting an hour to get zapped. This games not for everyone but if your looking for something that takes more than an hour to learn this game is badass. The community is nothing short of awesome- helpful
this game has all the right ideas, like the open world, para drops, naval fights, etc. but i just want them to impoove the graphics, make it free, and get more members, also put it on other systems
I'd love to see xbox players in here with infantry. Let's see how easy it is for them to pick off other infantry at 500 yards scopless with a thumbstick. I think they would more or less be target practice.

It is definitely the best it's ever been. I'd say if you liked the idea of the game in the past and depending on when that was, it has leaped ahead in size, scope, and I would say fun. Your account should still be there just needs to be reactivated again for a month to give it another go.
Any idea if there was any talk about upgrading some of the model animations, like the detail of characters and running/chrouching animations? They are looking very out of place with the times, the graphics in general are no big deal though, gameplay is more important.
Yes they will be switching to the Unity II engine, from what they said, around the next patch. This will add an absolute upgrade to the game. The graphics will be far superior, lighting, topography, models, animations, sounds and the code will be more organized making patches come out faster and more efficiently.

1. who is the general or commander. like, who decides what towns to attack? when to retreat? when do call call in the re-enforcements.
2. how is victory determined?
3. how does the overall strategic situation affect tactical play.

to play this game? you can play it with an OK computer. but like if your computer is from 1999 probably not lol. but you never know.
if you can play WOW and War and all those other MMO's you can probably play this game, only thing you need for this game really is a good amount of Ram and a good vid card.

the game has changed a lot since it's 2001 realese. back in 01 the game had like Super mario 64 grafics, now it's more or less like 2007 type games. your gonna need a somewhat good comp to play this game. especially enough RAM, because there is a never ending landscape.

I agree. What I love about this game is that you dont have 12 year old kids goofing off, and trying to ruin the game for others because they think it's fun. The game is complex, and the players are dead serious so it makes it impossible for people to goof off and ruin it for everyone. God i use to hate playing Multi games and having some clown teen killing his own team members or lagging behind so to watch the rest of your team killed for laughs. Price, and complex keeps the idioits off it.

I always loved how you could tell how long a battle has been raging by looking around at the carnage. Dead bodies stay there for I think 6 hours? Vehicle hulks I thought stayed there for 6 hours as well.
Very cool to see the carnage a firefight leaves behind.

I think the hulks disappears after 30 minutes. But still that is more then most other games has. They don't even has hulks "because it would ruin the oh precious frame rates". ;-)

Well, maybe its an hour or even two hours before a hulk disappear.
I think the dead bodies is removed at least after some 30 minutes. They disappear rather quickly.

The CD-key gives you 30 days of free play. After that is there a monthly fee for all.
The fee goes to server maintainance and game development. This game is far from finished eight years after it release. Its evolve all the time and is getting better and better as times goes.
So the monthly fee is really goes to a good cause. :)

Not my video, but I do play. No there isn't friendly fire. The game is alot of fun and this video is a good one that shows how "hot" things can get. But it doesn't show just how bad it can get in battle. The red flashes and explosions in this video are frequent, but I've been in a cp or spawn building where there non stop and it seems like you can't move or find your way out of the building. It's not very graphic, but that is good for those without an expensive computer.

I couldn't tell you an exact number but there are thousands of players for both sides. Those players are scattered out across several towns. You'll find most players where the most fighting is going on or whereever they feel they are needed most. Some times it is slow with only a few players in a town. Other times you'll find hundreds of players fighting at once and dead bodies piling up. Joining a good squad will help you learn faster. I am on 53rd (Allied) but there are several good squads.

If you let the graphics bother you then that would be a damn shame. I'm always too engulfed in what's going on around me than standing there staring at graphics.
Consoles can never handle this game, it does make your computer break a sweat rendering 6 kilometers in all directions. A conmsole only renders, what, 300-1000 ft on most games?

its a a fuckin shame not even PS3 can do something like that- destructible enviorments with 100s of players plus this kind of hit detection- its 2000 fucking 9 and they still can't make games worth a shit on console- 16 vs 16 fighting for some captured gay flag is so 2002. seriously WTF! Yeah! The team behind World War II Online have done something no other game house has been able to do. It is a very small team, but they are dedicated and plays the game themself all the time.
No other game has the same awesome features like WWII Online. Biggest continous map with some 600 town & villages. visual sight of up to 8km and unlimited numbers of players on the same server.
Gives awesome big battles that goes on for hours and hours. :)
Every battle can & often has impact on the map.

I am very impressed with this game after 5 days of trial. The first day was a total bummer but now that I got some kills I'm very enthused for my next paradrop. I finally said fuckit and dropped in the heat of it all. instead of way out and got a couple kills right away instead of waiting an hour to get zapped. This games not for everyone but if your looking for something that takes more than an hour to learn this game is badass. The community is nothing short of awesome- helpful

I'd love to see xbox players in here with infantry. Let's see how easy it is for them to pick off other infantry at 500 yards scopless with a thumbstick. I think they would more or less be target practice.
and most console players just aren't willing or ready to drive tanks with independent track clutch and brakes, mandatory manual transmission, no 3rd person view, and having to switch crew positions to drive, fire, and use the commander who often is the only crew member with a decent view.

It is definitely the best it's ever been. I'd say if you liked the idea of the game in the past and depending on when that was, it has leaped ahead in size, scope, and I would say fun. Your account should still be there just needs to be reactivated again for a month to give it another go.

Any idea if there was any talk about upgrading some of the model animations, like the detail of characters and running/chrouching animations? They are looking very out of place with the times, the graphics in general are no big deal though, gameplay is more important.

Yes they will be switching to the Unity II engine, from what they said, around the next patch. This will add an absolute upgrade to the game. The graphics will be far superior, lighting, topography, models, animations, sounds and the code will be more organized making patches come out faster and more efficiently.

Not sure of the exchange rate but I believe it's $19.99 USD for a key which gives 30 days playing. Then it's the standard $14.99 USD a month with cheaper rates for 3, 6, or 12 months purchased.
