Fact is the bmw could have been resposable for killing or seriously injuring both riders... i would have chased him too! but your probably very wise for holding back. Car drivers are taught to be careful around vunerable road users like bikes...
@advancedbiker I'm supposed to position myself in the centre of the road when taking a module 2 test but what about when im going around a left or right turn?
if i was to turn right on a bend do i position myself the the lefter side of the lane so oncoming traffic can see me quicker?
One more thing:
do you know anywebsite that will show me road positions for module 2 test because i know mod2 and advanced are different and you can fail mod2 if u use advanced techniques.

@A19Denmore Thanks - When I think about it, I know why it happened......The main road ran along side a railway line, to our left and the road look straight for a considerabledistance UNTIL......Half way along the straight there was the tunnel and a chevron board pointing us right. I think the BMW car driver thought, I'll have these motorcyclists on the straight and then OH SH*t - Road goes right !
I know that road well know locally as the... "Hidyke" road heading to Colsterworth, really dangerous overtake that was, good job another bike or car was not coming around the bend!
BMW thought the road went on straight - watch it again - you'll see how your eye takes you down that lane way befrore you guys bank right under bridge. When you guys turned in, having committed to the overtake already, he 5hit himself and realised he was supposed to be going right too. I'd say that moment was as scary for him as anyone... Very foolish - but it happens... You boys were riding well to have been able to deal with it anyway.... Not the crime of the century - just fool hardy!
They are cunts in BMWs and Audis just because they drive nice cars so they think they own the road. When you see a nice car, always assume that there's a nutter behind the wheel. I had a BMW overtaking me right over a hidden dip last Sunday!

I remember heading out to yellowstone while sturgis was going on. Fuckin harley riders constantly getting in the way, driving less than even 70! Then, when you go to pass them, they "accelerate" up to what they think is super fast, and look at you like you're crazy when you overtake them at +130mph!!! Idiots!! I'm in a 4000lb + car, you... well... don't give me dirty looks on your tiny little squasher!!

BMW driver was inconsiderate to say the least. I'm sure with a bit of planning if it was absolutely necessary they could have overtaken on a more appropriate section of road. Begs the question had something been coming towards them as they approached the bridge what would their natural reaction have been, it would have been to pull into their nearside and impact upon the lead riders lines.
I watch your clips for tips on riding an positioning often,they are good tutorials, but I watched this a coule of times and still can't make up my mind, you camera angle is only showing me the view to the left, not the view to the right and the road straightens up under the bridge and through. It's possible he got his view before he committed to the overtake? He seemed to be aware of you coming up behind him and seems to yield slightly to allow an overtake, so he is aware of the traffic.
@TimClynes - The view to the right is a very high railway embankment and the bridge was the only way through it. I still think the BMW driver thought the road went straight and committed to the overtake, but in fact the road went hairpin right. Will try and Google the location
The bmw driver couldn't have picked a worse place to overtake. Anyone who thinks otherwise and drives themselves really ought to take public transport instead.
umm.....where's the near miss??? a car overtook you around a corner, big deal. there wasn't anyone coming, you were going slow, and i'm sure he realized that. it was an inside-turn overtake anyway, so it was the quickest way for him to do it, so technically he did it at the right time and place.
actually i have a driver's license and motorcycle license. i know what he did was wrong, but everyone's making a huge deal about it when there's not much to it. there was no "near miss", he took a risk and passed him around a corner. i've seen a lot worse than that

Really can't see how close the car came to you two from the angle of the camera, gotta love the keyboard warriors saying it wasn't a near miss. I wouldn't call that a near miss but it was dangerous and could have seriously injured the biker. It was a tight right turn under a bridge. The BMW driver overtook them on a blind corner, if a car was coming the other way the BMW driver would have swerved into the biker.
It's not always the case.. but the more expensive the car, the more retarded the driver is a reasonable trend to use when superficially judging people.

I used to think it was just me till Bike magazine did a poll a few years back and BMW drivers came top of bikers pet hates. My favourite BMW lunacy is quite a common one - on motorways and A roads where they overtake you just before their exit then career back over to the left to get off. Car could not have seen around through the bridge. Had another car been coming he would have been cleaned up and taken the first biker with him as he slides from the collision. umm.....where's the near miss??? a car overtook you around a corner, big deal. there wasn't anyone coming, you were going slow, and i'm sure he realized that. it was an inside-turn overtake anyway, so it was the quickest way for him to do it, so technically he did it at the right time and place.

Really can't see how close the car came to you two from the angle of the camera, gotta love the keyboard warriors saying it wasn't a near miss. Judging by how narrow that road was, that BMW had to do some really creative stuff to get around you on that curve. I wouldn't call that a near miss but it was dangerous and could have seriously injured the biker. It was a tight right turn under a bridge. The BMW driver overtook them on a blind corner, if a car was coming the other way the BMW driver would have swerved into the biker.

I used to think it was just me till Bike magazine did a poll a few years back and BMW drivers came top of bikers pet hates. My favourite BMW lunacy is quite a common one - on motorways and A roads where they overtake you just before their exit then career back over to the left to get off.
