I agree, I like the Japanese better, but I disagree on you the "more challenging" part. Most of the Japanese one can easily be won by either lying down or just leaping through. What they do is hire comedians to make the watching more enjoyable so they purposely stick out their arm unnecessarily to match the hole picture and struggle with it. Its the fact that they are enjoying themselves that makes it much more enjoyable to watch.
