Thanks man, that really, really helped. Have loved this song since it first came out, and even after 35 years of playing you can still learn something. See ya !!!!
props for trying to work a little "theory" into the tutorial. nice to see someone not only nail it spot on, but also explain why it is the way it is. even if its not just banging out two finger "guitar hero" barre chords. every variation of every chord has a distinct sound or voice and the original artist chose each variation for that reason. you have a good ear, and a true knowledge of guitar/music theory. (like you dont know that already, THANKS FOR GETTING IT RIGHT!!!!!
if the poster of this video doesnt mind, can you give me the number of times the notes were played? i Tried to listen, but i couldnt see your strumming hand so im not sure. Please tell me if this is right
A 1-2. 1-2-3-4 G 1-2 D 1-2-3-4 (Repeat)
D 1-2, 1-2-3-4 F 1-2 G 1-2-3-4
I have only played guitar for one month but i know i can tackle just this if i could get the correct times.
Hey man, you are by far one of the best at these lessons, i dont use tabs or nothin, been playin about 3 years and im 15, i only play by ear mostly but i just couldnt figure out the intro chords, plus i like how someone can just look at your fretboard and see what to play since its not blurry or nothin, makes it alot faster
WOW! Great guitar mentor! And you're not snooty about it either- like some of the better teachers on YT! My 17 year old son asked me to learn "Let it Ride" and I found you. Then I kept going and found this, too! Thank you!
well coming from a beginner im very happy you made the video the way you did. im surprised you have patience in explaining each chord so well but it helps so much, compared to the videos where they say the chord and just play it. thanks so much you make learning guitar easy and fun :)
The same reason why some people play video games on 'hard' mode and some people play on 'easy'. Whatever ends up making it fun for you is what you should do.
gotcha, like i see everyone play the barred chords, and i didnt know if i am playing it wrong, but just to clear it up, when i see songs where people are playing the barred chords, if there are other ways to play it that are easier for me, itll still sound right?
Another guitar player will notice, but most people will think it sounds right.
If you want to be a professional, then you have to learn bar chords. If you just want to play for fun (like most of us), then take your time. I'm still learning after 28 years.
so basically our own style, like thats all i play for, just for fun, a hobby lol im too busy with school and track to start a band or anything..but thank you very much my friend
Well playing G barred going to C is down one string instead of a whole new finger configeration, As well as sounding more BASS-y ... Open chords are played on all 6 strings and barres are usally just 3 or 4. Just some people find it easier to do barres. I like to learn at least 3 ways to play any song I learn. But yeah they sound pretty much the same, I mean theres only 7 notes (a-g) ... But there's 164 ways to make an E lol.
This is a great song to start learning barre chords. You explain everything so clearly and well. It's really building up my fingers and looks great. Thanks a ton.
cheers for this one steve,iv'e been trying to get it down for a while, and the barred c shape is where i've missed the the trip,i will give it a try and let you know the outcome, certainly got a sound way of tuto'ring.fairplay to you,and thanks for the effort that you have taken, best wishes,

Always willing to hear constructive criticism! I normally go faster, but some of these chord shapes are less common.
Thanks for watching.

i dont get why people play the difficult barred chords..like a find it much easier to play the a chord, on the 2 3 4 string on the 2nd fret
