u can tell who r the emo's nd who r punk/rocks,sorry ppl every1 has mixed taste of f.f.a.f casually dreesed is the best, hours is emo but extremely gd!!t.d.t.t is dark emo nd memory has2 be 2nd best.lovin the new stuff they r bk!!!
I only liked one of their albums, which was easily the best they ever wrote: Hours. The only other song of theirs I liked that wasn't from hours was Waking up, and I now have a new one to add to that second list of like-able songs, that song being this one.
All of FFAF's CD's are good, but if you listen to Casually Dressed, this really isnt anything like it, its way too fast, this more of Memory and Humanity style with more screaming. Its still an amazing song and I hope the other 3 are even better. But it could've been more like Casually Dressed.
TDTTS was so awful, this isnt the best but its better than before! I saw them the day before they released that album, they were so good live but only when they played the Hours and Casually dressed stuff :/
this return to that style is a good idea.. but the song is average,
I see people here regard the retun of screaming as the solution,... lads, its not the screaming that made the good music, it was quality,
Both "Casssually dressed.." and "Hours" were exceptional. Tales dont tell themselves was somewhere between good and average.. but the last one really it had nothing.
i missin gareth ellis-davies, he was one of the best band members any band would have needed, leaving the band was the biggest thing that happened to funeral for a friend
no he didn't!! gav wasn't even in the band then! he only joined after memory and humanity was recorded. the vocals on damage inc are matts, he said they were difficult, but they wanted to do something unexpected
lol k, are you sure though? coz they don't sound like darrans normal vocals and i swear i remember reading matt saying how he had difficulty doing the vocals, for obvious reasons! lol, though i could be wrong! think i'm gonna dig out my old kerrangs! lol, it's bugging me
i just found it, lol, and it was ryan who did the vocals, i'm kinda disappointed, lol, i was hoping that matt had it in him to do it! ah well, fuckin awesome cover!
The only thing wrong with funeral for a friend is that they only have certain tricks up their sleeve. I mean, when it comes to writing a catchy rock anthem with a bit of screaming and some great guitar riffs, Funeral can stand up to any band out today. It's just that when they try to be a bit more inventive it's hit and miss most of the time.
Gavin's done them no harm then...These new songs on the greatest hits would've been the first he would've contributed to the writing. Nice blend of old and new...sounds god man.
i dont think that breakdown was them, more likely it was a bridge to the next song. But if it was them, then id be stoked!! Overall this song is not all that great, it hurries no where very quickly, however the return to their old style (mostly the screams) give me hope of whats to come.

Oops no i got confused there, but the vocals on damage inc are done by darran, it's definately not matt, he has a totally different screaming style

The "breakdown" wasn't FFAF, it was a "For the Glory Of..." by Testament, the band that the DJ mentioned before the song started
markh2305 2 years ago
It wasn't a breakdown it was testament
