Hello, I have a president george and it works very well but even if I transmit with 2W it gets really hot, it's impossible to tutch the rear heatsink. Is it normal ? Do you know what could be the problem ? Thanks !

Hee check the SWR of the antenna, im sending whit 4 watts en no problem of what so ever.

@Glen7628 It blinks when you are in between channels using the 5 khz stepping feature.

@Glen7628 pressing "select" enables the radio to work between channels AND it even knows where the alpha channels are so automaticaly does this aswell. The only thing i dont like about them is that the Dual Watch function only watches ch19 AM instead of being programable for any channel in any mode :)

cb radio is dead and buried, even ther amatuer bands aren't as busy as they used to be just a sign of the times that and modern technology such as mobile phones and the internet have hammered the final nails in the coffin i guess?

I believe I had a dx contact with you last week possibly, I was located late afternoon in Southampton Container dock, had a breaker on the skip from Aberdeen !! he was coming in 3/5lb radio 5 no problem, sounded just like you, which i commented to this breaker, and he claimed he was you !!

Hey Scotscan, did you DX into Southampton about a week ago on the skip, 6/8. 5 .10, around 15.40pm, I spoke to someone, and sure sounded like you, said he was in Aberdeen, I was down in the container port at Southampton.

I gave a radio report of 3-5lb, radio 5.

Long ago I had several nice radios like the president hr 2510 and 2600.. Also one called the Emperor TS 5010. Is there any place left that sells them similar to this?. Would not mind getting back into the hobby.. I got out of the trash talk on 10- 11 meters when I got my ham license and went to 2 meters etc.. got bored then just left all together. Is this President George a new type?

Very good radio.The only quible i had with it was that it could not tune in 1kh or 100hz but hey! its a cb not an amateur rig. I later sold it and bought a lincoln.

Those switch mode psu's are cheap for what they deliver but not many people like them, does anyone know why.?

Cheap switch-mode power supplies tend to cause a lot of RFI (radio frequency interference) problems.

..and it's not just the cheap ones. Some of the professional HAM switch mode psu's cause terrible noise all across the HF band. They should be banned from sale!!!!
