on the 26th of febuary 2012, smoke free 10 months wowii, keep at it , you need to wanna give up, more then you wanna smoke, stay strong and live long ;)
@GoldenRaptorStudios I agree the e-cig is a great device, but sometimes people forget that nicotine itself is a deadly poison! The amount of nicotine present in 1 cig would be lethal if injected as opposed to inhaled :o
Hello I am a 2 pac a day smoker and I really want to stop, but I feel like I can't. I have tried and tried but with no success and still trying. For me it is very hard to stop I have slowed down to only 1 ppac a day now but I really want to be smoke free-------I love to smoke in what ever I do just smoke I really need some help..........................................................
This is the WORST motivational video ever! You make me want to light up NOW--and I quit a while ago. If you are trying to quit, don't watch this one--I swear this guy is working for the tobacco companies!
I quit smoking about 18days ago and upon watching the first 60 secs of this video I wanted to blow my brains out. I'm not kidding. Start out with the positives for goodness sake. I swear to the Good Lord...I'm still depressed...LORD!!! An awful video if you actually are trying to do anything but make someone light back up......
@Teddybear2923 Was that "super sense of smell" related to cigarettes only? Or was it about everything?
Because I HAVE to quit smoking, I'm trying to collect data of this subject, so Id really appreciate any reports about your personal experience on quitting this horrible vice.
@gamerdaddy to be honest I'm really not even sure it was from quitting smoking cause it was 3 years after quitting. But I had a more powerful sense of smell. Especially to cigarette smoke and it wasn't a pleasant one.
I have quit again, thankfully, I'm doing good. No powerful sense of smell and my sinuses are feeling a lot better and don't bother me nearly as much. Please, don't let what I wrote stop you from quitting.
@Teddybear2923 : Uh. That sense of smell is the sense you were born with. It's hardly "super" or extrasensory. You should remember that smoking is a drug addiction. When you smoke, your brain / mind becomes drugged. Logically that means your senses become drugged as well. When you quit your smell eventually goes back to the state it was before it was poisoned. Cigarette smoke is a very powerful, offenseive odor. It's no shock that you are more aware of it now that your senses are keener.
I had quit smoking for 3 years and my sense of smell had become ridiculously sensitive to cigarette smoke. Living in the city, it's hard to get away from second hand smoke. I tried air purifiers and all kinds of stuff but nothing helped. So, I started smoking again which eased it tremendously but not totally. I can now smell second hand smoke and actually enjoy it instead of feeling like I'm having the breath sucked out of me. Well, I decided to quit smoking again. It's my 2nd week.
Only way to gonna quit smoking is if you WANT to quit smoking. Ive smoked a pack a day for the past 15yrs. Never found anything more challenging, but I hated the fact that I couldnt stop. So I started my own WAR on cigarettes. Been smoke free for 2 weeks & damn proud. I used Nicorette & had several serious talks with myself about not going to the store & buying them that first week & just chewed the gum. Now im lower dose gum, and the talks to myself are shorter and easier. Soon reg Gum!!
I watched this video hoping for a lil more encouragement for the withdrawal period of quitting smoking but more than half the video was spent describing the horrors of quitting...some of which I didn't even notice until you so kindly pointed them out to me. Wacthing this video took me back a few rungs...
quit two months ago, smoke from age 13 to 35, i smoked 60 plus a day,
i had to quit cause i got gum disease which was partly from smoking
almost age 36 with false teeth, give it away, if you dont die you'll loose your teeth or lung, etc, truely its not that hard to quit, just stop, and put up with the withdrawals, it soon passes.
By day 2 my wheezing stopped. By day 3 my smell and taste was back. By day 5 my coughing stopped. I woke feelling rested. I felt like doing things again. By the end of week 1 I saved £91.25. by month 1 I saved £395.42 7 by the end of the first year saved a whopping £4, 745 which I used toward a new car.
It's NOT rocket science & it's easier than you think. Once you make it through the first few days you will look back and ask yourself "why did I wait so long to kick this shit out of my life."
I didn't decide to Quit ...my body did ....it said ur done... and that was it... I ve lost weight... like I needed to. .. and nothing tastes good ...so one day at a time strange the thought of a cig makes me sick.... What the Hell happened ....I was'nt even thinking about quiting????
The cost of cigarettes in Australia is very expensive now. Packets of 30 well over $15 and 40's over $20 and roll your owns over $30. My habit when I quit 6 yrs ago was costing me around $70 a week, now it would be more like $110 p/week. I know its hard to quit but it is easier to handle than lung cancer. Good luck everyone.
Smoking is negative to your health. With every puff you take, you fill your system with thousands of toxic chemicals. It is no wonder individuals would like to quit smoking, but it's quite hard. I came across an effective way to quit smoking, youtube wont let me post it here so I put the link in my profile.

After 24 years of smoking I'm a week smoke free and I feel good cant stand the crappy smokes no more but have to admit i get cravings its all just a mental state
If an obese person can lose 30 kilograms then a person who really WANTS TO STOP smoking will stop. It is simply mind over matter. It took me years to decide, but when I turned off that smoking trigger in my brain, I stopped!
@DPx111 its getting there. Im 15 and i smoke almost every other day because thats when nobody is home and it just hit me this morning i havent smoked since wednesday and i planned on a smoke that morning at the bus stop but couldnt and for some reason i was super pissed off at everybody for no reason and everything they did annoyed me
i read that your chance of 'contracting' diabetes (within the next 3-6months)will also increase through change in diet so dont eat too much sugar **CAUTION-u will also become constipated so dont worry, this is natural
smoking as a "catalyst", is tantamount to eating a double cheese from Mcdonalds- its out the other pipe in less than 10 min. so when u stop smokingy your system's behavior will alsochange
Allen Carr - EASYWAY. I genuinely recommend those of you who want to stop smoking - read it or attend the clinics (just google them) and you'll be happy non-smokers for the rest of your lives. I quit 5 months ago - never wanted to smoke (altho i do have nightmares abt smoking smtimes...). RIP Allen Carr.
I have smoked for the last 30 years. None stop for 30 years. I've tried the patches, the gum, chantix...you name it. When I did mange to last a day without a cigarrett I was MISERABLE! I wanted one more than anything ! Well, last night I read a book. "The Easyway To Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. It totally fu*&ing Blew me away!
Somewhere in the middle of the book It all make sense. By the end of the book I smoked my last one and threw the other away. I went to bed. This morning when I got up the "desire" was completely gone. I mean GONE! Nothing! I have not touched one and the most important thing is.....I don't want one. They give me nothing. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK! Anyone out there who has suffered through this crap! READ IT!
@insearchofgraves 1) hello. firstable thanks to all of you this is quite a good place to discuss that thing. Well, I actually READ the allen carr easyway... i quit smoking, but unfortunately it didnt last a long time... (to be honest, i was and am disappointing... i managed to not to smoke for 5 days only...)
@coloradooo99 try it again! It's been 2 1/2 weeks for me now. I still have no desire to smoke. Of course, out of habit, I think about them and wonder if I would enjoy smoking one but then I remember .....NO I WOULD NOT BECAUSE THEY SUCKED THE LIFE OUT OF ME FOR 30 YEARS AND THATS ALL I'M GIVING THEM!!!
@insearchofgraves ok.. so i quit just 4 days ago. i am fine. and waiting for the bad part to hit me... u seem to be doing fine after 2 and a half weeks. so maybe the bad part is yet to come for u too.. is it? r u taking nicotine in any form.? sorry.. dont want to be rude. i want to be prepared for what ever is coming my way..
@itisneena I still have not touched one and it's been almost 2 months. There was no bad part for me. All I could think about was the positive and what I would gain. Like in the book he says you are not loosing a friend....you're killing an enemy. There will be seconds of thinking hummmmm maybe I miss them and then I will remind myself that NO I DONT! It's not hard to quit.....it's hard to decide to quit.
After the first full day of quitting smoking the craving goes away completely, after 3 days of quitting it becomes very hard to swallow and little breathing problem. It's been 5 days since i quit and i feel like crap, who knows how long i have to suffer before i actually feel better.
@Scott97169 hi.. was just reading your comment. been 1 month since you wrote this. did you quit or fell off the wagon? its my 5th day. i dont have craving or trouble swallowing. but i have a little headache and i cant sleep good.. keep waking up. restless... i dont plan on giving up so i just try not to think about it. God help me cause i sure am trying to help my self very hard
@itisneena I havn't touched a single ciggerate since i quit and i will never touch one again. The negative symptons didn't last for to long and i feel really good right now. Just don't ever pick up another ciggerate, you won't regret it. Your health is very important and i can assure you that giving up ciggerates completely will be the best choice you've ever made, that's how i feel about it.
One tip I heard is that studies show that menthol cigs are harder to quit because they're nicer to smoke. It's easier to quit if you change over to non menthol cigs and then quit.
My 20 pack just went up to $9 per packet. A carton of 200 smokes is up around $100. It's mostly taxes. Back in my teens they were around $2 per packet.
my tips is that you should stop smoking while you are sick! if youve got a sore throat and when your cigarett doesnt taste anything then you should quit..
If you do a search for "freebase nicotine", you'll learn some amazing stuff. This nicotine delivery method is a more of a vaporous smoke, and less solid paticulates. The nicotine is absorbed faster and is more like a "hit" of a drug like crack, because you feel the effect (in this case, nicotine) almost instantly. While this may sound good, it is not. Freebase nicotine is much more addictive and the "freebase" effect is achieved through the use of added chemicals like ammonia to increase pH.
I am a smoker of Natural American Spirits and while claiming to be 100% additive free, one study done in the UK found this brand to have the highest freebase nicotine content of the 11 brands tested against a control cigarette containing 1% freebase nicotine. I did a google search for "natural american spirit ingredients". Most cigarettes are now marked FSC or "fire safe" which means slower burning, thicker paper, and more glue. Mmmmm, smoking glue. Makes me sick to think about. I quit.
i have 5 days of work over xmass, im gona use them to try and quit smoking! its gna be hard with all the beers ass thats my main weakness! i can smoke through 20 in about 4 hours on a night out :S
I have only been smoke free for three days now, but I did find something kind of unusual that kills the cravings: Pickled Garlic. When I crave a cig, I put a clove of pickled garlic in my mouth. I don't know why, but it has been working. Stinks though, but at least it isn't killing me.
to quit smoking a agree with u SCREWEDUPCLICK4LIFE1 its not that hard its not like u have the cigs right in front of u if u want to quit just stop buying dont think about it and u wont want to buy it or just become extremely lazy to the point where u dont want to get off ur ass and go down to the gas station and buy a pack
if u realy wanna quit stop buying the fucking packs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!drink a cold beer instead or go jogg or sumthing dont jus fuckin sit and think about ciggarets jus get that off your mind and u will be healthier person
This is my seventh day without cigs, and I am feeling great. It is a powerful feeling to have control over this rotten habit that has stunk up my life for the last fifty years. (grin)
I love how he coughs/gags at like 2:00 min in.. but either way good vid. I quit for the first time 48 hours ago... since I have manically cleaned my car and apartment. I have a feeling things are going to be really clean in my future.
I need to quit ! I started smoking 2 years back and now Im 18. I smoke a pack a day or maybe even more thn that. I've got asthma and I have a problem sleeping at night cos I wheeze a lot..hope I can quit now. I've lost my apetite. My skin looks pale now, Ive got dark circles etc.
Cigs are $4.03 for Pall Mall in TX. That's on sale though. Marlboros are close to $6 a pack. I quit for 4 years and after my dad died, I picked them back up...stupid me.
i smoke export a golds and they are 10-11 dollars. kills me. it's my first day of quitting smoking, wish me luck and good luck to the others who are quitting as well.
$4? wtf? The australian government is bumping them up to $20 a packet to encourage people to quit, ? YEAH MORE LIKE GET MORE TAX THE CUNTS. but anyway where do you live so i can come buy a year supply lol?
To chris jones:..you have no penis. quiting is a fucking excellent idea, best ever.!! your life gets a lot better FACT. now suck my balls you asshole.:)
i quit two years ago and ive never felt so bad in my life- depression-a constant chest infection and mucus-im disgusted with the health organisations who dont tell people the efects of stopping smoking-its a nightmare-dont believe the hype-stay alive and happy-keep smoking
those are all normal symptons from what I understand, but from what I understand also they aren't long lasting (a month or two tops for the depression, and a year or so for the mucus). Your lungs will be producing the mucus while you sleep as a way to clean out the tar, depending on how long you have smoked will depend on how long you will be developing mucus. It is better to quit in the long run... but I dunno, as I said, I'm 48 hours into quitting so time will tell.
this must of been very old! cuz now its close to 14 for a pack of Exports & just over 10 for Accords in Canada! But i totally agree with it[th ad]& am trying to quit right now.

I hope that super sense of smell doesn't come back. I can't handle it.

@Scott97169 thankx and good luck to you .. to me and all the people who are trying.

The best way to quit smoking is the poo cigarette trick... Maybe...

One tip I heard is that studies show that menthol cigs are harder to quit because they're nicer to smoke. It's easier to quit if you change over to non menthol cigs and then quit.
HeatherOfOz 2 years ago
My 20 pack just went up to $9 per packet. A carton of 200 smokes is up around $100. It's mostly taxes. Back in my teens they were around $2 per packet.
QUIT

i totaly agree with you suede417 i smoke and when im ill i hate the taste of a fag so give up when your ill im giving up 2day myself
zombiekiller441 2 years ago
my tips is that you should stop smoking while you are sick! if youve got a sore throat and when your cigarett doesnt taste anything then you should quit..

Freebase nicotine is much more addictive and the "freebase" effect is achieved through the use of added chemicals like ammonia to increase pH.
musemechanic 2 years ago
I am a smoker of Natural American Spirits and while claiming to be 100% additive free, one study done in the UK found this brand to have the highest freebase nicotine content of the 11 brands tested against a control cigarette containing 1% freebase nicotine. I did a google search for "natural american spirit ingredients". Most cigarettes are now marked FSC or "fire safe" which means slower burning, thicker paper, and more glue. Mmmmm, smoking glue. Makes me sick to think about. I quit.

Hey smoke weed its almost the same price.
sjktico 2 years ago
I do. I quit for two days but now I'm down to 3 cigs a day.
Part of the reason I wasnt to quit smoking is because it makes you stink, I think I'd rather smell of smoke than pickled garlic : P
tckfui 2 years ago
I have only been smoke free for three days now, but I did find something kind of unusual that kills the cravings: Pickled Garlic. When I crave a cig, I put a clove of pickled garlic in my mouth. I don't know why, but it has been working. Stinks though, but at least it isn't killing me.

i quit two years ago and ive never felt so bad in my life- depression-a constant chest infection and mucus-im disgusted with the health organisations who dont tell people the efects of stopping smoking-its a nightmare-dont believe the hype-stay alive and happy-keep smoking
chrisjoneschrisjones 2 years ago
do u work for a tobacco company u fucking retard ive lost a 3 members of my family to that drug i quit a month ago and have never looked back since
djslim077 2 years ago 2
those are all normal symptons from what I understand, but from what I understand also they aren't long lasting (a month or two tops for the depression, and a year or so for the mucus). Your lungs will be producing the mucus while you sleep as a way to clean out the tar, depending on how long you have smoked will depend on how long you will be developing mucus. It is better to quit in the long run... but I dunno, as I said, I'm 48 hours into quitting so time will tell.

well im nearing over two and a half years and still feel awful-still lots of mucus and flu like symptons
