Frank, are you imitating Mario Lanza's phrasing and vocal quality? I can certainly here you so much of Mario's singing in Caruso. LOL! I still love it though.
@pbgem yes...what if this man was afforded all the same "amenities" as bocelli, whom the public follows like sheep because the music industry tells them to do so? we would be watching HIM on tv!!
I just listened to Jussi - sure he gets his high C and he has expression, and there are also some excellent russian singers (kalinka solo, kolokolschik etc.) - but the climate is an important fact or advantage for physical development including lungs and voice, I think - but nobody can choose where he will be born, and for music you need most of all the feeling. I do not condemn the northern singers, how could I?
He is American of Italian origins (Tenaglia) . I know what you mean , but actually the North may give great voices too : ever heard of Swedish tenor Jussi Bjorling ? I'm Italian myself .
microphone sucks when a classical singer has really good decible and an astounding ring like frank tenaglia. hell with that mic, they should use mic that can deal with loud and fine voice..
No doubt it's Gounod's. Also known as Bach/Gounod, 'cause it was made using the Prélude n. 1 from the "Well tempered klavier" of Bach (see) as an accompaignment for the main melody written by Gounod. It is incomparably most "high" and inspired than Schubert's.
What an awesome gift! With more legato phrasing, a consistently lifted soft palate, open throat and jaw relaxation, his top notes will feel and look more effortless. That does not mean that his voice and tone is not wonderful already. He has the perfect tenor potential!!!!
Garcon don't be a jerk, he opens into a lovely high tone. Technical critiques could be made as far as intonation, vibrato speed, pitch in a couple of spots, and an inappropriately timed breath, but this is a nice professional voice which will continue to improve with time and experience.
His diction could be clearer...

By using the mike so close to the mouth one actually gets a much less good sound than without mike or recording far enough from the mike.

Frank is from Philadelphia. If you think HE'S good, you should hear his brother John, a baritone!

Frank has a wonderful voice. True, the recording here isn't great, but in spite of that, his beautiful tenor still shines through. True talent!

This singer has a great voice, but the recording equipment sorta distorts his capability. I bet he sounds awesome in a theater or concert hall.

Well , Jussi was a very famous tenor , Tenaglia isn't as famous - but he does have those
good tenor qualities . I just went to his site and there is a quite incredible story about him as a child being healed by Padre Pio .

Amerikaner . He's American (listen how he says "Maria" ). He's a good tenor , I like it .
87redsilver 2 years ago
Yes, nationally, but from origin?
The name sounds italian, and he looks
pretty italian.
I think its a drop italian blood in him, if not a lot.
The north dosen`t give such voluminous voices.
However, he is brilliant.

Its Bach/Gunod.
mishima1974 3 years ago
It is definately Bach/ Gounots Ave Maria. hear the Praeludium 1 of Bachs "Wohltemperiertes Klavier" and than you can correct yourself.
Greetings
Singetommy 3 years ago
Why don't you check your information and make sure it's Schubert ? If I'm wrong I'll be humble enough to correct myself.

Evidemment que c'est celui de Gounod, celui de Schubert est bien différent.

This is not Ave Maria Gounod. This is Schubert. They are different pieces of music.

You are wrong. It's Ave Maria composed by Gounod.

You're completely right. I know the difference. I just posted a comment in the wrong video. This is Gounod. Thank you!
