This is an amazing view! Never thought that at full gallop like this, the pace is so smooth! You are barely jumping on his back... The camera looks pretty much steady...
@Oakleaf700 Some American tracks have grass tracks and some have dirt. Some even have both. It depends on the weather. (Sorry for possible typos. I'm on my Kindle Fire.)
@TheHorselover42 When a racehorse is breezed, they don't run them full speed around the track. They start off holding them back, and going on from there.
When the horse was going sideways, the rider wasn't let him run full speed like he wanted to. When he was finally able to just RUN, that's when he smoothed out and went straight :).
The dirt tracks look so odd...in England we have grass gallops-but they do take a lot of care, and cannot be used in frosty weather. typical thoroughbred behaviour, head up at the beginning.
You gotta be a little bit crazy to do stuff like that. Exciting video but I would have preferred to hear the horses' hooves pounding on the ground over that really awful music, but that's me.
Really cool video, it's awesome to see it from the riders point of view. I was happy to see it was woodbine because I'm Canadian, and the track looks fantastic. Thanks for posting this.
I'm trying to get a job in breezing, I've been riding for over 10 years but what should I know? How do I break into the industry? Is it easy to find jobs? How is the pay? (you don't have to give an exact figure) etc..
@maniaaa6 Look up where your local jockey club office is. Get a grooms license and get into the back barns. Find a trainer you like, or just start asking around for who needs a groom or a rider. Or, find out where your local race horse training farms are and get a job there. Usually they don't pay you at first, or not much, and they start you cleaning stalls, just do it, it builds muscle, you'll need it if you ever start riding the horses.
Where is this at and that is like my only DREAM in life with a horse career because I think it is absolutely amaIn and when you headed for the first turn how fast where you going and what is the horses name because he/she looks very familiar
That was great! I would have loved to show my students this during my jockey camp. Your horse was not any fun getting to the pole for you lol.. happens so much. I am going to share this with some of my students, thank you!

I love this. The camera's view really lets you see how much riding a horse is like flying across the ground.
