  • Happy New Year and Happy Christmas. Thank you for sharing Beauty.

  • Qo Nor tarin ev Zatikn el shnorhavor! ;-)

  • Beautiful and moving sacred chant. Thanks for posting.

  • You must not be familiar with real Orthodox history. The Chalcedonians redefined the Christology of the original Orthodox Church and hence aligned themselves with the Western church that became the Catholic Church. The Russian Church didn't even exist until nearly 500 years later. St. Severus is far from being an Arian, stop believing in false propaganda and bad history from the Greeks. Armenians, Syrians, Copts, Ethiopians, Indians, united for true Orthodox beliefs.

  • Armenians are no monophysites, they are miaphysites. Do your research. The Byzantine Chalcedonians killed thousands of Armenians. Again, read up on history.

  • This is a beautiful arrangement and so touching! Thank you for sharing!

  • Greetings from Serbia to all beloved Armenian brothers and sisters!!!

We hope that our Churches, although separated now, will be reunited soon, in God's will..

Can someone post English translation of this song(pray)?

  • Lord have mercy (Der Voghormia)

    Jesus Christ have mercy

Most Holy Trinity give this world peace.

(The Lords prayer is recited in the end)

  • I didn't understand...Are you Orthodox?

  • In general - yes.

  • Thanks

  • Vivat Armenia ! ! !

  • I wish you a happy Christmas

  • I love watching your posts, I always learn very much from them. Thank You Beauty.....61

  • I'm part Armenian and I've been learing a lot about Armenia. This video was very informative. I also loved the pictures, what a beautiful place it must be. Great Job! :]

  • wow :) our beautiful Orthodox church, music and traditions! I love Christmas....

  • hey,no ishemg,armenians aren't orthodox,they have their own religy-hay arakelakan

  • it's called Armenian Apostolic Church

  • mysterman jan, I'm pretty sure we're Orthodox, I have been believing for some years now, our Orthodox church is accepted by the russians, greeks etc. Araqelakan = Apostolic is what the protestants and catholics and Orthodox call themselves, it goes for all Christians. The Apostolic church is a branch of its own, has nothing to do with us :-) Armenians are most certainly Orthodox...

  • actually, the world celebrated christmas on January 7th because they used the Julian calendar like the Eastern Orthodox churches. Later, the Catholics changed to Gregorian calendar and made it the 25th of December.

  • The Roman Catholics don't know their own history. The rest of the Orthodox world (mostly Roman Empire) in the 4th century celebrated Chrismas on Dec. 25 (Julian Calendar), exactly 9 months after the Anunciation- Mar. 25. This was before Dioclecian made Dec 25 a pagan feast to take place of Christmas. The pagan feast came after Christians had already been celebrating Dec 25 (Julian) as Christmas!

  • But the date Mar 25 was an innocent miscalculation by our Roman (Orthodox) brothers. The Anunciation should coincide with the Great Friday which occured on an April 6. So then Armenians started to commemorate the Nativity on Jan 6 (Julian). Mar 25 was not a Friday and it was not after the Passover. Our Armenian brothers got it right! But dates don't matter as much, we will never know the real date, we only commemorate, and thats what is spiritual over worldly. It is the work of The Holy Spirit.

  • So, to elaborate more, Dec 25 (Julian) is Jan 7 (Gregorian), and Jan 6 (Julian) is Jan 19 (Gregorian). All other Orthodox exept for Armanians and Greorgians celebrated the Nativity on Dec (Julian), or Jan 7 (Gregorian). The Armenian and Georgian Church celebrates the Nativity on Jan 6 (Julian), same as Jan 19 (Gregorian). But now in modern times, the Etchmiadzin and Cilician Armenian Church changed the calendar, so only the Jerusalem Armenians celebrate it on the traditional day- Jan 6 (Julian).

  • very nice

  • We r Orthodox;-)

  • Thnaks;-) According to Bible 3 wise men met up on 6 January and that day was elebrated by all Christians worldwide until Roma changed it on 25 September...but these r minor differences and most Armenians celebrate it twice anyway...on 6 and 25...;-)

  • In ur country-yes, in mine-on 6;-)

  • yes, it is cool, I do celebrate it twice, on 25 December and 6 January, double fun! lol

  • Very nice video

  • Having fun with movie maker eh? :) lool keep the videos comingg ;) they're great

  • I don't think the video says 6 January is related to pagans. It says 25 of December was " appointed" by Roman Church to override their main pagan festive which was on 25 December...

  • no 6th has no relevance to paganism, however 25th does as the sun god mithras was celebrated on 25th and we must remeber that mithras the god was founded by the phrygians, one of our ancient fathers along with Hayasa from the Hittites

  • 1:07. i was just reading russian sources, same thing there. i am not criticizing. i am just trying to understand. i come with peace! :)

  • oh ok

  • yes, I know;-) 1:07 says 6 January was celebrated among all Christians but as Roman Church wanted to override pagan festive they changed it on 25 December...6 January had to do with Christians, not pagans;-)

  • Who changed it? the byzantines or the wannabe romans in the west? lol

cause from what i remember the orthodox came first brought by greeks hehe :P

  • I read long ago what the food on Armenain Christmas meant, some religious things but I hope someone with more exact knowledge will answer...thanks for good qsts;-)

  • i guess it is because of the pre-Christmas fast.

  • By the way are you sure celebration on 6th of January is related to pagans. as far as i know it is because of the difference between the New or Julian Calendar, the Old or Gregorian Calendar.

  • sorry. old julian and new gregorian.

  • So you celebrate in January as Georgians and Greeks. ok. by the way why fish and rice, is this just traditional or has a religious meaning?

  • its very nice =D

  • out did your self again great video, armenians also worshiped the sun god during the pagan years, but i guess gregory taught us well lol!

  • Sure, we did worship pagan Gods, but the main festive was not on 25 December, so we din't have to change the day...I guess...one of Orthodox things mean not changing to other teaching withing Christianity...but in general we don't differ much, similarities are much more;-)
