@Falcovsleon the guy who wrote the cartoons script wrote the music for the battletoads games, he should have stuck with msic and not cartoons.

@MegaBanana101 No there's actually two people named David Wise and they aren't the same person. The David Wise who wrote the script for this ironically enough wrote some scripts for TMNT and a few other shows. The composer David Wise had nothing to do with this cartoon.

@djmocha7 in 1991 new cartoons were all over the place like you couldn't avoid and the only repeats were Looney Tunes shorts on Nick and old HB shows on then-new Cartoon Network. There probably wasn't a proper timeslot for it on any network TV channel.

It gets better: the so-called "video game" is actually a parallel universe that the Dark Queen rules, or at least until the Battletoads appear and wreck her plans, After Volkmire warps them into her world, she permanently transforms them into the 'Toads, though that becomes a mistake.

The full story was shown in comic form in an old Nintendo Power issue, and "Battlemaniacs" references Volkmire. And even if it's not canon at all, it's still better than this crud.

@Maetch01 No it's cannon. One of the staff at Rare even wrote it. And if you ask me it is kinda ingenious to tie the game's difficulty in with the story. I'd say DiC actually DID the research, they just didn't care and thought the toads would be more marketable if they were more like the franchise they were banking off of: the Ninja Turtles. That's why they're teenagers that shout "radical" slang. Apparently DiC thought that alone was what made the Ninja Turtles popular when it wasn't.

Seriously, DiC did absolutely NO research on the 'Toads (they never do) before making this.

You wanna know what the REAL canon story for the 'Toads is? They were adult game programmers/testers whose company were marketing the Battletoads as a virtual reality game. But the game's creator, a jerk named Silas Volkmire, hacked into the system and sabotaged it out of jealousy.

I like this for how cheesy and 80's cashcrop it is. That said, if I saw this on TV, I'd change the channel. It looks more disappointing than Wayside and how it has little to NOTHING to do with Louis Sachar's Wayside School books.
