I am a current active duty marine ...and honestly its kind of sad how the US marines first got their ass kicked and pushed out of Fallujah the first time by civilians...took them a couple of months to regroup and stradegize a plan to take the city back...all they did is get more people and got bigger weapons but even then they struggled to retain the city... if you think the US did something good in Iraq...please stop being ignorant and get an education

They pulled out because they were kicking ass and the Iraqi government saw footage of dead Iraqi bodies and they became outraged. So they told the US ambassador to Iraq if the Marines don't pull out they will step down. They also promised to police and control Fallujah but that didn't work so we came in a second time.

Airborne units are s/times the first ones there. Depends on the operation. I meant no disrespect at all. I think most Americans don't know the Army was in Fallujah at all. Marines and Army units often worked together. I was not there, so wat i read were anecdotes. 1 Marine approached a 1st ID tanker pointing out targets. It worked well. Godsped

The Soldiers need to be urgently educated in international law and when to refuse orders in order not to be abused for bad politics. The US could be a very valuable part of true peacekeeping troops . At the moment Pakistan supplies 12 000 soldiers, Bangladesh 11500, and the US 82 soldiers! EIGHTY TWO! That's ridiculous....

I am a current active duty marine ...and honestly its kind of sad how the US marines first got their ass kicked and pushed out of Fallujah the first time by civilians...took them a couple of months to regroup and stradegize a plan to take the city back...all they did is get more people and got bigger weapons but even then they struggled to retain the city... if you think the US did something good in Iraq...please stop being ignorant and get an education

@frankweezy2g If you are a Marine then maybe you should get your facts straight. They didn't pull out of Fallujah the first time because they were getting their asses kicked. They pulled out because they were kicking ass and the Iraqi government saw footage of dead Iraqi bodies and they became outraged. So they told the US ambassador to Iraq if the Marines don't pull out they will step down. They also promised to police and control Fallujah but that didn't work so we came in a second time.
