We got our motor out of a 3rd gen rx7 that was in the junk yard. The car was rear ended so it was totalled beyond repair. I don't really have a set cost on the conversion, there were over a thousand man hours on the build so it was very labor intensive. The car has 366rwhp at the moment on pump gas. It will be retuned soon to get more power. It made 366rwhp on 17lbs of boost. The motor is built to take 29lbs so we will be trying that out in the next couple months along with addition of race gas.

what kind of trans modifications did you do, i'm looking to swap in the 13b-re and i would like to retain the miata trans. my understanding is it's machining the input shaft to the trans and swapping the bell housing. but as far as torque issues how did you over come that?

In our conversion, we swapped everything over to 3rd gen rx7 parts. The tranny, rear diff, front and rear subframes, brakes etc were all swapped. This way we had no issues to over come. Next spring, this car will push over 500 rwhp so we wanted a tranny that can be replaced easily. It is more expensive up front but when the trans fails... its just a quick swap instead of custom making another... That's just how we did the swap.

Wow you guys did a lot of custom work, though that makes sense to do that with that kind of power. I'm planning on leaving me 13b-re at stock and supposedly the 6spd NB trans is good for 300hp.

your probably listening to rotary haters. the rotary engine is more simple than a V8, the only downsides of a rotary is the emissions and fuel consumption, but mazda improves the rotary engine every time!

@betekvs Converting to Propane would get it past most of that. Not sure why more people don't do it.
