lecrae is a good christian rapper. I credit that. But have you seen how low his pants sag? Bad influence on hip hop culture. What I find amusing about this video is that all of the comments are from people who listen to both secular artist, because both are worldy and still living in this world so. On the other hand, to say one is better than the other makes no sense because they both have a different message to express.
When Christian music is good, it becomes popular with even secular people. P.O.D's music is in Commercials, TV, Movies, and MTV. But then there was this whole controversy where youth pastors were telling their kids not to listen to P.O.D. cuz it was worldly. Not even close.
Luke 16:8 sums up my thoughts on Christian music vs. Secular music. I have a good ear for music and I can hear the lack of attention to detail in most Christian music and lyrics.
As far as raw talent and production values goes, the only Christian artist I can think of that exceeds his secular counterparts is Israel Houghton. Most other Christian artists are just "okay" when put in the same room as a similar secular artist. I'm rooting for the Christians, being one myself, but we're not representing. Rapping about Jesus doesn't make you a good rapper. Confused? Think Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin, I'm big fans but they're not the best by a longshot.
Till about 2001 studios thought all people wanted to hear about were violence, money and bitches. Then Eminem came along and rapped about his emotions, and outsold everybody. Today the most popular rappers are on top because of their talent, and what I'd call their "honesty". They don't care what people think about them, so it frees them to be themselves on a track, for better or worse. Christian rappers lack this freedom, ironically.

Actually Em is one of the best to ever touch the Mic. That will never change. Lecrae is good, but I'm not going to say he's better just because he's glorifying God. When it comes to skill Em is better. I know that wasn't the point of the video, it is just my opinion. I love lecrae's music just like I enjoy Em's. I really like Lecrae, but Eminem has wowed me with his talents and that's undeniable despite what he rapping about, he has more impressive raps then what is displayed here too. First of all Eminem "IS" one of the best rappers of all time. His talent just blows Lecrae out the water but "Music" is a form of "Art." So I get it when people say Eminem sends a bad message to everyone but keep in mind Eminem has been through so much. More then any Preacher or Priest can imagine. All Eminem did was tell the world about his struggles in life. I too would be pissed off at the world if everything i did got thrown back in my face.

i used to be an eminem fan too and i thought i was a christian but would only listen to him to get pumped up for football games. little did i know he was molding me into a completely new person and after less than a month i was totally different. now lecrae is getting me back on track and i've found he actually pumps me up more than i could've imagined because he reminds me that football is a gift from God to me and he's the only reason i'm out on the field.

Eminem is an AMAZING rapper and some of his songs actually do have a good message if you listen close enough, but on the other hand, Lecrae is also very good and his messages are extremely clear. If Eminem came to christ and really meant it and did a duo rap with Lecrae it would be that best thing to ever happen to the world of rap Cristian AND Secular EVER!

I can't say whether Em has changed his ways now, but his song sure does not show it at all. He showed no signs of stopping his evil ways and instead said "forget the world, I'm still going to do things my way" (NOT LYRICS FROM SONG, but clean version of what he said).

I'm 51 female who is youthful and a christian-to some, I'm extreme, to others I'm not enough. My point is I love/d Em and also really like Lecrae! his words are excellent! I'm a recovering addict and pray for Em a lot and for many addicts getting clean or are clean to find Christ.

Case in point: P.O.D.
When Christian music is good, it becomes popular with even secular people. P.O.D's music is in Commercials, TV, Movies, and MTV. But then there was this whole controversy where youth pastors were telling their kids not to listen to P.O.D. cuz it was worldly. Not even close.

As far as raw talent and production values goes, the only Christian artist I can think of that exceeds his secular counterparts is Israel Houghton. Most other Christian artists are just "okay" when put in the same room as a similar secular artist. I'm rooting for the Christians, being one myself, but we're not representing. Rapping about Jesus doesn't make you a good rapper. Confused? Think Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin, I'm big fans but they're not the best by a longshot.

Today the most popular rappers are on top because of their talent, and what I'd call their "honesty". They don't care what people think about them, so it frees them to be themselves on a track, for better or worse. Christian rappers lack this freedom, ironically.

i used to be an eminem fan too and i thought i was a christian but would only listen to him to get pumped up for football games. little did i know he was molding me into a completely new person and after less than a month i was totally different. now lecrae is getting me back on track and i've found he actually pumps me up more than i could've imagined because he reminds me that football is a gift from God to me and he's the only reason i'm out on the field.

It's like one rapper raps about inspirational things and things not of the world, while the other says he's back and changing and yet he still raps about things of this world. And the only reason Em sales more than Crae is because he's of the world and Crae isn't. That's biblical that Christians will be hated by the world. You can see that if you go to any Christian video here there's always someone who's mean, rude, and nasty.

I think there are two things missing.
1) Maybe this is because I'm a DJ, but I would love to have seen you take the original tracks and remix them together even if it's on a totally new beat. That's generally the best way to do.
2) match videos when ever possible or do something more than just the cover. Agreed, that's a ton of work but there are people on youtube doing just that.
Otherwise, good concept and I appreciate what you're doing and why.

Eminem is an AMAZING rapper and some of his songs actually do have a good message if you listen close enough, but on the other hand, Lecrae is also very good and his messages are extremely clear. If Eminem came to christ and really meant it and did a duo rap with Lecrae it would be that best thing to ever happen to the world of rap Cristian AND Secular EVER!

Lecrea, FLame and G.R.I.T.S got my heart listening. I grew up listening to Christian Metal but I couldnt understand the Word and realized they never spoke about Christ but these Guys are not afraid to speak about Christ in their Music. Lecrea hands down

Lecrae has awesome messages about christ and eminem has really good messages about living life. really eminem will be thought of as a legend in rap in this world but his reward only stays on earth. @jnlacrosse17 My friend, the "Not Afraid" song was not about someone changing their old ways, it was about sobering up or “revising“ his old ways, yet just because he is sober now does not mean he has changed. I can't say whether Em has changed his ways now, but his song sure does not show it at all. He showed no signs of stopping his evil ways and instead said "forget the world, I'm still going to do things my way" (NOT LYRICS FROM SONG, but clean version of what he said).

Jesus however, will forever be remembered and known as the one Supreme example to live by. He far surpasses any human being that ever lived, and he is also our Creator God, the one who made us, our eternal Father, whether one believes in Him or not, whether one loves Him or not. He is always there and no one will ever forget Him for He is above all.

I'm 51 female who is youthful and a christian-to some, I'm extreme, to others I'm not enough. My point is I love/d Em and also really like Lecrae! his words are excellent! I'm a recovering addict and pray for Em a lot and for many addicts getting clean or are clean to find Christ.
