The arcade version looks amazing! I own the snes version and play as Sabrewulf and Orchid. Eyedol is a pain in the butt to beat! He fights so cheap so fighting fire with fire makes sense. lol
Rare should at least release a two in one game (KL1 & KL2 Arcade Versions) for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii(Since Nintendo did have something to do with Rare & the KL series)
Considering there are licensing issues with both of the originals games since Nintendo had a hand in them, the only thing you are likely to get, if you ever get another Killer Instinct, is a Killer Instinct 3.
You can't release the SNES version obviously. Nintendo and Midway had a hand in both arcade games, and Midway doesn't even exist anymore, Warner Brothers bought them, and I doubt they would be interested. So ports of the originals aren't happening.
@risenwarfare So I guess you are new to the concept of different characters having different endings? This is what WOULD have happened had sabrewolf won the tourny. He didn't which is why he's doing the exact same thing in 2 as he was this one. Had he won the tournament, he probably wouldn't be in the sequel.
And the storyline is one of the POSSIBLE storylines. It didn't happen. In the official one, Orchid killed Eyedol. What do you want them to do? You beat the game with a particular character, and the ending says "Sorry, your character didn't win. This is what really happened" ?

cinder didnt win the tornament but they were smart enough to leave him out in part 2 cause in 1 he just took of after winning and getting away from the cops ......
You missed the freaking point. The ending was if he WON. He didn't. You saw what happened to him if he won the tournament. He didn't. Orchid did. Cinder died in the original. Glacius killed him.
Riptor was killed by T.J. Combo, that's why he didn't come back. Chief Thunder found out what happened to his brother, that's why he didn't come back.
Each character had an ending to show you what happened if they won, but officially no one but Orchid did.

Rare had already done a Banjo-Kazooie game for the XBox360. So doing a rerelease of the original game wasn't a huge leap. And they approved a rerelease of Perfect Dark done by a third party. But that does not mean they are going to rerelease Killer Instinct.
With the exception of Banjo-Kazooie, NONE of their previous IP's have been done into a new game (minus Perfect Dark Zero, which was already in development) as Microsoft seems unhappy with them redoing their previous work

@Sabrewulf007: Microsoft has basically stripped Rare down into a skeleton crew. Everyone that worked on KI is now gone. Rare only exists as a patsy for their Kinect and Avatar shovel-ware. Apparently Microsoft doesn't like money either. Digitally-remastered versions of Killer Instinct 1 & 2 up-scaled to 1080p would shatter all sales records for downloadable games EASILY. Oh well. A the trick to beat him with Cinder is to fly from one side to the other, and moving away from him when you land, when he jumps towards you, hit him while he's in the air, keep repeating this.
My chep tactic is to guard until he jumps, then jump kick him as he comes in, then do something like what you did, only with a small 3 hit or 4 hit combo. I use Jago most of the time.
It's not cheap. Winning is winning, especially in the arcade version when you are broke, you want to find whatever means to make your quarters last LOL.

it's a Rareware game, and they are owned by Microsoft now, if any KI game comes out it will be a 360 game... which I will have to buy a 360 if they do... game mags are saying KI3 IS in the works... if so there better be classic versions of the game on the disk as well!

all players can do short combos or certain hits that make the other player dizzy, this was on the 1.4 version, the final version 1.5, this double slap wouldn't make the other player dizzy... I think :D my arcade only had 1.4 and I haven't played too much 1.5 in MAME...
Orchid won the KI tournament, all other character ending turn into "what if" situations...

Sabrewulf: Captured by Ultratech in the first tournament after being severely injured and beaten. Has been driven mad by experimentation from Ultratech. With cybernetic arms and being 2,000 years in the past, Sabrewulf desperately seeks a cure for his lycanthropy.
I think they should make this game again for one of current next-gen consoles. The KI series kicked butt back then, and I'm sure it can kick butt now, in a newer perspective.
a KI3 would be nice, but RARE is owned by Microsoft... and Nintendo owns the intellectual property that is Killer Instinct... I would like to see them get into bed with each other and make this love child...

Wow!! Amazing technique! I already mastered the double "uppercut" thing, but can't figure out how to do the LP (or MP?) brutal combo.

it's 2 MP hits in the air, it will link the combo while jumping across! you can do another linker, ender, or even a finisher when you land!
you can juggle after the combos I do in this video as well, I don't know why I didn't, would have been more punishment!

Alreay tried it, but it didn't work. Does it work only with Eyedol? Seems like it'll take a little more practice :P As for the double uppercut, it owns! You'll always stun your opponent. Thanks for the info!

What console is this on? Is this the arcade version? I have the SNES version, but I know these graphics are way to good to be on SNES. Good fight, btw.

it's a Rareware game, and they are owned by Microsoft now, if any KI game comes out it will be a 360 game... which I will have to buy a 360 if they do... game mags are saying KI3 IS in the works... if so there better be classic versions of the game on the disk as well!

all players can do short combos or certain hits that make the other player dizzy, this was on the 1.4 version, the final version 1.5, this double slap wouldn't make the other player dizzy... I think :D my arcade only had 1.4 and I haven't played too much 1.5 in MAME...

Other "Cheap Tactic" is put the character -anybody- at the extreme of the screen, Eyedol jumps over you, and do the Uppercut XD
Or with Glacius, simply go forward and "medium punch" (Y) at his side...

I think they should make this game again for one of current next-gen consoles. The KI series kicked butt back then, and I'm sure it can kick butt now, in a newer perspective.
