or signature. In fact, I like the guy in this video much better. Oh yeah, I'm a drummer of 30 years. Guys like John Bonham had a certain spirit. He can play 2 bars of anything and make you drop what you're doing. Spirit is what's missing in music now. Isn't there enough of this "Mad all the Time" Music????

You obviously know nothing about the drums. Bonham is one of the top 5 drummers of all-time. Dave thinks so as well, hence the bonham tattoo he got before he joined nirvana, and the two cover bands he played when he was in Scream; Dead Zeppelin & The Zeppelin Brothers.
If anyone thinks John Bonham can't play, listen to the song "achilles Last Stand" or any live Zep audio.
the drum part on Goog Times Bad Times is very good. tough quick bass drum work that sounds to me like its done using one bass drum pedal only (hi-hat is pedalled in quavers at this point also).
He's a good player, and hits all the notes and stuff.
But, i think what makes Dave an awesome drummer is he proper gets into it. This dude looks as stiff as an ironing board. Just coz its all technically right, don't make it good.
Well for a drum lesson, i think its better to keep calm so its easier to watch and understand. If you have a guy going crazy its hard to pay attention to the actual notes being played.
none of these songs are from taylor hawkins. What are you talking about? Taylor wasn't even in the band for the recording of The colour and the shape. Dave is on all of those tracks, with the exception of a couple intros to songs that William Goldsmith played before he was gone.
Song for the dead isn't hard to play, even in it's entirety, but is totally kickass. This guys' performances are pretty sterile though, even if he is playing note for note.
Taylor Hawkins joins the Foo Fighters when The Colours And The Shape are already recorded. With Dave on the drums. So in tracks like Monkey Wrench, Everlong, My hero.. it's all Dave!
A song for the dead isnt too hard to play, i learnt it all after only lsitening to it through twice, and i can play it 100% accuratly....this guy doesnt really give off the "grohl vibe" either...just doesnt have the power there.
Dave is my favorite drummer but his parts are honestly kinda easy to play. The only thing he ever made that I couldn't play is that thing from Know What You Are by NIN. This guy is playing Smells Like Teen Spirit wrong like most people do good drummer though. Dave is awesome because he can make the drums as much a part of the song as the guitars without being a showoff. Also he ripped the My Hero beat from the Melvins song Night Goat and the beginning to Song for the Dead from a Black Flag song.
you're almost right. Dave did all the instruments for the first foo album, and sings/ plays mainly rythm guitar/ does all tracks bar four for TCATS, i believe, which William Goldsmith did before they had a falling out and left
no william did the drums for 4 tracks, and 2 are only part of the song, 1 is a bonus track, and the 4th is "Doll", which doesn't even really count as a song. dave did the drums on every other song

Some may laugh, but a really challenging album to pick apart and play to is Tears For Fears first album The Hurting.
Manny Elias did an incredible job on that one. Also, check out Echo and the Bunnymen's Ocean Rain. Pete did the entire album with brushes.
Sit down with those 2 albums and you'll agree that they are challenging.

You obviously know nothing about the drums. Bonham is one of the top 5 drummers of all-time. Dave thinks so as well, hence the bonham tattoo he got before he joined nirvana, and the two cover bands he played when he was in Scream; Dead Zeppelin & The Zeppelin Brothers.
If anyone thinks John Bonham can't play, listen to the song "achilles Last Stand" or any live Zep audio.

the drum part on Goog Times Bad Times is very good. tough quick bass drum work that sounds to me like its done using one bass drum pedal only (hi-hat is pedalled in quavers at this point also).

He's a good player, and hits all the notes and stuff.
But, i think what makes Dave an awesome drummer is he proper gets into it. This dude looks as stiff as an ironing board. Just coz its all technically right, don't make it good.

Well for a drum lesson, i think its better to keep calm so its easier to watch and understand. If you have a guy going crazy its hard to pay attention to the actual notes being played.

none of these songs are from taylor hawkins. What are you talking about? Taylor wasn't even in the band for the recording of The colour and the shape. Dave is on all of those tracks, with the exception of a couple intros to songs that William Goldsmith played before he was gone.
Song for the dead isn't hard to play, even in it's entirety, but is totally kickass. This guys' performances are pretty sterile though, even if he is playing note for note.

A song for the dead isnt too hard to play, i learnt it all after only lsitening to it through twice, and i can play it 100% accuratly....this guy doesnt really give off the "grohl vibe" either...just doesnt have the power there.

Dave is my favorite drummer but his parts are honestly kinda easy to play. The only thing he ever made that I couldn't play is that thing from Know What You Are by NIN. This guy is playing Smells Like Teen Spirit wrong like most people do good drummer though. Dave is awesome because he can make the drums as much a part of the song as the guitars without being a showoff. Also he ripped the My Hero beat from the Melvins song Night Goat and the beginning to Song for the Dead from a Black Flag song.

you're almost right. Dave did all the instruments for the first foo album, and sings/ plays mainly rythm guitar/ does all tracks bar four for TCATS, i believe, which William Goldsmith did before they had a falling out and left
