They are actually backup brakes, they were installed about 15 years ago when there was a accident on the Sea Serpant, I was one of the passengers, its there if the ride stops after the loop and between the cobra roll.

When we went up the second lift hill there was a weird noise coming from the back of the train. When the chain released us to go backwards, the back right wheels blew out and we ended up going through the loop and go stuck right after the loop going backwards towards the boomerang. We were rescued nothing really major. Just the back wheel blew out and yes it can happen.

@trendyboi25 that was also wit the old Arrow dynamics train the train we have now is way better n safer also as of last year we have installed better safer axles so that can never happen again n the brakes in between the loop are called looping brakes there for just in case the train happens to not make it to the 2nd lift or sumthin happens on lift 2 the brakes will hold the train so we can easily evacuate the guests the brakes have been there since the ride opened back in 1984

The brakes were not there when the roller coaster was installed. After the accident that happened, they were put in. This was part of the investigations, per NJ Inspectors that they needed to have this. I have the original investigation papers that stated that they needed to be installed.
