You probably skipped the tutorial, which would've got you further in skill and in just 5 minutes. After the tutorial, the #1 tip I got when I started was to READ THE SKILLS OF THE BLOODLINE you play and learn the hotkeys for them. Then you can move on to planning like in which order do you use your skills (comboing). Just learn one bloodline first.
There were really good tips in the video, but most were too advanced. The healing system is different than any game I have come across so far. The healing spell is AIMED (you can't target a team member and then just heal it), you have to land the spell on the team member you want to heal. When the spell lands on ground, it creates a splash and if a team member is in radius of that splash, he will be healed. Being more accurate heals more. It's hard due to everyone moving around.
Self healing is easy, though. You can press shift (default self cast key) + right mouse button (default hotkey for healing spells on all healers) and it will land on you, regardless of where the hell you aim at that moment. Shift-key can be used with a lot of skills for self-casting aswell on other bloodlines (tank shields and whatnot) and it speeds up a lot and being fast is essential in this game.
Basicly you learn the most when you play against people of your own skill level, so I recommend starting a new account, doing the tutorial, reading up the skills of one bloodline you want to use, learn the hotkeys and then solo queue. You might lose A LOT at the start, but you will eventually get hang of it and it. After that it's rewarding. Traits and medallions are advanced stuff and should not be worried about at first. Good luck to anyone who's reading this and is starting out. :)

Athene used a nonstandard key configuration making it harder for Presto to communicate with him... Also, Presto should have instructed him to spam heals, IMO; best way to start as a healer.

It takes a while to 'reprogram' yourself from RTS style of moving your hero around with right click to WASD + Aim. Athene kinda failed in this vid.

I am myself play blc since closed beta. Game have changed very much. Now there are 11 spells, not 7 as many believe. It HAD 7 spells back in beta. After that we got EX skills, turning to 9 spells total. With 2.0 patch we got medallions, adding 2 more spells. Game is more of arcade than shooter.

Did you not hear? This game is hard to start. He can't predict what's going to happen. New controls are the main problem. He obviously isn't scared to show himself doing these things, because he expects people to be realistic about his gaming skills. Gaming skills are LEARNT, otherwise anyone could magically be good. He should upload a video after 2 hours playing to shut you guys the fuck up.

It takes a while to 'reprogram' yourself from RTS style of moving your hero around with right click to WASD + Aim. Athene kinda failed in this vid.
BLC is so underrated, it's unfortunate Stunlock studios (the developers) are forced to be stuck with funcom (sorry, I mean failcom) as they are probably the worst publishers of all time

I am myself play blc since closed beta. Game have changed very much. Now there are 11 spells, not 7 as many believe. It HAD 7 spells back in beta. After that we got EX skills, turning to 9 spells total. With 2.0 patch we got medallions, adding 2 more spells. Game is more of arcade than shooter.

Did you not hear? This game is hard to start. He can't predict what's going to happen. New controls are the main problem. He obviously isn't scared to show himself doing these things, because he expects people to be realistic about his gaming skills. Gaming skills are LEARNT, otherwise anyone could magically be good. He should upload a video after 2 hours playing to shut you guys the fuck up.
