wat is the perfect range for the sensitivity? and any suggestions for a mouse pad?

@ProcrastinatingGuy 150+ is common/average for most gaming pads. C4 NGEN would normally reach 170+ ! Try to get one. Helps in everyway to improve gameplay on your next session.

Personally I have tested about 3 to 4 m away from the console itself with no problem. but if u are playing online competitive, you may want to get the dongle as close to your fragchuck/mouse set as possible, it would reduce any chance of latency or jittering.

Yes, it is a laser mouse based. Invisible to naked eyes. It would work on your legs, but I think that would need getting used to for me personally.

hi, i believe you received a newer production batch which has new laser sensor, that is why your reading would shoot up over 170. There is no differences in performance though.

I believe there would be a new config version coming out soon that would address this.

Try to uninstall the driver from your PC.

Reboot and reinstall the driver.

The dongle button should not be pressed too long, or it would go into the firmware patching mode.

before you answered i tried it almost like you described it.

i have to say that i have windows 7 64 bit.

i had to conduct the complete procedure for installing the driver like you can find it on the official website of bannco --> FRAGnStein - Video Assistance --> Vista64&Windows7-64 Driver Installation

afterwards put out the dongle and put it back while holding the button for no longer than 2 seconds. then start the config tool. next press the start button of the mouse.

i have to perform this process every time i want to upgrade my firmware or config my settings.

that takes just a few minutes but its a little bit annoying.

but at the end everything works.

The FnS doesn't even register or move on my steelpad 4d - but works on a poorly painted metal desk with holes in it almost perfectly - lol.

i don't like this controller, it does not work right, stutters even after going through all the rf channels, it does not work unless you have the right mouse mat even though i got one of the best you can get.

it's so bad, i went back to my frag fx 2 total con.

My experience is totally different from yours. I also own the FragFX and Fragnstein, and the Fragnstein out performs the FragFX big time. With the FragFX I am rather chasing the target then really getting and hitting the target, like with the Fragnstein.

For both devices I do not use a mouse mat, but I either use my couch or my bed (talking about uber relaxed game, rofl) and both surfaces work very well with the devices.

i have frag fx V 2.... and despite being crapply made it out performs the fragNstein as it can be used on any gaming mouse mat, with ANY game without changing firmware.... the same cannot be said for the fragNstein... NO FIRMWARE actually has any use for pro FPS gaming except the mw2 FW but even that has snaking in the up and down motion, which i had to point out to bannco myself as they quote "missed that completely". i dunno what kinda gamers are praising the FnS, if they are real gamers

I can't say it out performs the Fragstein but my FragProFXv2 was the biggest waste of $ I ever made, thank God I was able to return it :) I did the fw upgrade and still when I went to play the mouse was severely choppy and horribly unresponsive. When I contacted Splitfish about this it seemed like they had no answer but kept dragging it out so it would void my 30 day warranty. But, no worries, I bought it from best buy so I was able to return it to the store.

that is exactly what the FnS is like for me... though it could be fixed when they finally fix mw2 eX FW... i don't get any choppyness with the ffx v2 well at least nothing that affects my gameplay, no so with the FnS... it always stutters... even the left hand grip... the other FW for it, is a deadzone nightmare too.

Frag FX is trash compared with this Fragstein... just compare all the reviews on Amazon... is like 4.5 stars for the Fragstein vs 1.5 or 2 stars for the Frag Fx

as i seem to get the impression that hardly anyone but me is reporting these short comings in the FnS at all....it fails big time the FW is just shit.... i don't know why any FPS gamer would not notice how bad this controller actually is... for the most part it is unusable to a pro... it cannot get the deadzone or sensitivity right frag fx 2 FTW...

Both on the FFX and the FnS I had to upgrade the FW to get good game play, but for me the FnS just does its job way better then the FFX.

Again it's fx v2 that i have, yes i did upgrade the fw..and it is better, sure you have a different experience... but you don't say wether its frag fx v2...(not a fw upgrade, different model)... and i just can't see how anyone who call themselves FPS gamers can use the FnS with any fw but the mw2 fw(which still does not work properly)so i can only assume that these gamers have a really weird love for deadzone or are just plain inexperienced, or are staff of bannco

Sorry that I was not clear, I do have the FragFX v2. I upgraded FnS to 2.2c and the FFXv2 to V2009.08.30. Until now my experience with the FnS is just better.

I am very happy that there are devices like the FnS and FFXv2, so playing 1st and 3rd person shooters are a lot more fun on the PS3 than with a DS3, imho. Still does not beat FPS gaming on a PC, but I got tired of the endless upgrading to be able to get a decent framerate.
