  • I believe now that they were black metal, hands down.

  • Comment removed

  • The people who are bitching about Vortex and Mustis are simply owned.....

  • Yeah the good dimmu. Blekned blaner is my favorite song bit this is still good.

  • lastima que ahora sean una mierda

  • I refuge in these old songs I loved them I love them...

  • this is real Dimmu, now is the shit!

  • Well, this is awesome. Dissection kinda did it all tho. Jon was a proper satanist. He killed a guy, came out from prison 8 years later, put up a great show and the blew his brain out inside a pentagram...

  • Best Dimmu's Song EVER. It carries hate and coldness as HELL .....

  • This is really Black Metal! True Norwegian Black Metal \\m//

  • so they did play black metal

  • i don't get it why Dimmu Borgir have change in the last album Arbrahadabra

  • @monsterzombie84 like my satutes if this is what u think as well

  • ...The funny thing is 80% of Dimmu's fanbase have probably never heard this album. To them Dimmu Borgir's debut CD is Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia

  • @Dungarth not true. i first hear the sac scorn, from there abrahadabra, but now i listen to them al, EDT, for al tid, SPB, ISD, i like all albums from dimmu, except for death cult arm , which i found just boring, except for the song vredesbyrd

  • why dimmu stop playing like this!? :(

  • Comment removed

  • MELANCHOLIA

  • Think twice before you say Dimmu has never played black metal.

  • Waaa estos temas tan viejos de Dimmu Borgir pero buenos :)

  • Classic black metal from norway....

    I own this on vinyl.....Haha.

  • bass sounds cool at all the songs of this album

  • For all Tid and Stormblast are Dimmu's best albums!!

  • @The3XpL0D : The ONLY albuns ...

  • The riff its very similar to de mysteriis dom satanhas form mayhem

  • @Multi666MetalHead666 and the second part of Thornspawn Chalice by Isengard, and the first breakdown-riff from Summer Dying Fast by Cradle of Filth :)

  • @Multi666MetalHead666 It's kind of build in the same form , but De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas riff sounds more evil

  • @Multi666MetalHead666

mm .. nothing more than just a little overlap in the opening riff .... ATM is basically different ...

  • @Multi666MetalHead666 Mayhem - inspiration for a lot of bands out there.

  • Einfach nur geile Mucke, nicht dieses CoF Komerz Bullshit!

  • I love this song\:D/

  • this is the only good album <3

  • @Enemy0fGod This album is not even half as good as stormblast

  • @stewy1897 r u kidding man?!

  • @Enemy0fGod Their first stormblast (not that remastered piece of shit) is a lot better than this. So, no, I'm not kidding

  • @Enemy0fGod I'm with you.

  • @Enemy0fGod Correction: This is one of their best thank you very much. Your comment will only be stated as your opinion.

  • ...oh and shitty production done right is an absolute necessity! Hahaha

Well er..perhaps not always, Dissection had good production and the sound remained true, Xasthur and Circle of Ghosts however are examples of the grainy, crusty sound that is oh so fuckin sweet.

  • i cant find the lyrics!!!

  • @Empacack find them on darklyrics

  • @Empacack .com

  • @vladuzaurus

Wish it could be so easy .... it's been 12 years wandering the net search for those lyrics .... if anyone could help ....

  • I have to say @punkmanjon has a point. This is lacking aggression it is not bad but it certainly could do with a little more aggression. They fixed that at stormblast

  • classic....and best album of db

  • FOR ALL TID , junto con Death cult armaggedon... Godless savage garden, Entrhone Darkness Triumphant , in sorte diaboli ... son mis albums favoritos.... = ) . \m/

  • Very Old Dimmu Borgir is amazing and so much more low quality and Black Metal! Up until now I only really listened to thier newer and symphonic stuff like Death Cult Armegeddon, Stormblast MMV, Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, and even a slight amount of Abrahadabra. They really, REALLY need to get vortex back though!!!!!!!! Either that, or they should just go back to this!!!!! I dont understand how people can say they are posers, this album proves they're black metal! Good raw sound :D

  • @emhass I don't know why they got rid of Vortex, but I do know that Mustis left because he wanted more credit for his work (he wrote progenies of the great apocalypse almost single-handedly). Anyway, Dimmu has really always been Shagrath and Silenoz, and I personally like some stuff from all their abums. Hailz.

  • i dont understand why ppl hate Dimmu. sure its not aggressive but it captures a side that many bands ignore and thats a creative side. they could of gone with the random bashing that other BM bands do but that would be to easy and im glad that Dimmu took BM in a hole different direction

  • @exactinmidget92 Me too. They were the first black metal band i ever heard, and it changed my life dramatically. Finally music with spirit with it, music with deep meaning, with great vocals that aren't too harsh or too high pitch like COF. Honesty, if i heard any other BM band before Dimmu then i would have never liked the genre and i would still be searching for it.

  • @SonoftheMorning666 Yeah, first black metal band for me too I think. But actually, I don't like bands with that "agression" that much you guys are talking about. The atmosphere chains me more, that's why this is just way awesome, -can't stop listening.

Anyway, that is COF's filthy way, so yeah high pitches are a part of it, and it wouldn't be COF without them.

  • The begining sorta reminds me to De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas by Mayhem

  • It isn`t Black Metal at all. It´s one of the first, and the best, Viking Metal Albums ever produced. By the way the only metal album from Dimmu Borgir, beneath the first Stormblast recording. Every other album isn´t metal anymore, I´m sorry, but it is the fuc.... truth, it is POP! The early records get a thumb up, however,

  • @DerStrumpflose rofl, I bet you consider meshuggah to be power pop then?

  • @DerStrumpflose Your opinions should stay opinions. You can't call your opinions facts, that's simple mindedness at it's best.

  • well, i look at dimmu borgir right now as the most shitty, sell out and kinda like the justin bieber of black metal, but i gotta tell you i own this album and its so fucking great, what the hell they where thinking? i mean this sound realli pagan influenced and unique, and well they are unique rightnow but you what i whant to say by unique.

  • Comment removed

  • Their second best album, right after Stormblast.

  • such a great song.....

  • What happened to Dimmu...

  • so evil!!! hail dimmu!!!

  • i like to make this song played when it is snowing with a cigarets :) THIS is True Black Metal !!

  • just bought this album the other day...this is an awesome example of gets better with time, not as well produced as their new shit...but an awesome buy, probably will listen to this all day...the album.

  • Just perfect!!! 'tis was fucking awesome!!!

  • Say constipation

  • The second most beautiful black metal album ever recorded. words cannot describe it. truly tragic, the beauty of sorrow’s romanticism, Friedrich Nietzsche would have really appreciated such a melancholic work of art.

Such works as this was my birth of tragedy.

  • Wow, sounds like somthing Summoning would put out. The beging also sounds sorta like a track off of Abigor's Nachmystium album, cand remember the name though.

  • @Siksaneity77 Summoning?? nah...too cheesy too boring. Nachmystium is a superb album yet it can not touch such depths as on For All Tid..

their is one album which is the true successor to this.. it was recorded in 2002. this band & album is the true continuation of Early Dimmu Borgir,. & carried on where Dimmu Borgir left off,

yet! i can only recommend something else.. that is on the same poetic lines as early Dimmu Borgir

...And Oceans ~ Dynamic Gallery Of Thoughts.

  • @666Desolate999

Ved Buens Ende ~ Those who carres the pale demo

    and full length

    - Written in Waters 1995, the vocalist can also be heard on For All Tid :)

Manes ~ Under ein Blodraud Maane

  • sadly, this is not the dimmu we see these days :(

  • dimmu old material is a gem. now is more than a shit

  • maybe it is just a rip off of other black metal greats but as far as I'm concerned, i like it a lot and you can call me poser or whatever the fuck you want, Dimmu is always gonna have a place in my world of music

  • WTF

My "recomended for you" box had a Ke-dollarbill-ah video on it, because I watched this video.......

  • if someone dosnt like the song, they should fuck off!!!!

  • atmospheric

  • Thank you so much!!! vWhoever posted this Rules !!!

I ve been a Dimmu Borgir Fan since 2003... only got to see them live 3 times though...they're coming to Canada again.. i' ve seen them once in Europe and twice in North America, but Dimmu Borgir Rule! ( they're the best Musically extreme and Lyrically/ atmospherically outstanding ) Black MetalBand Ever !!! Hail Dimmu! The new album is a little bit different from what i expected to be honest... but even better than i thought

  • I like this! It's slower, really melodic, slightly folky, tortured vocals, norwegian lyrics... this is starting to sound like black metal!

  • do we realy talk about the same DIMMU BORGIR who do Gateways.

yeah i know we do but its unbelieveable how GENIUS they was.

  • perfect.

  • For all tid - stormblast are my favorite albums from dimmu.. pure feelings, no need to prim with super covers, face pictures, the beauty is inside the music.

  • this is beautiful , the sweetest melody ive heard in my life

  • i love the riff at the beginning

  • Comment removed

  • @detnyericket Wrong. Under korpens vinger= Under the wings of the raven

  • @Jernklo2 Thanks for the correction.

  • @detnyericket Actually can be Under The Wings of Crows as well

  • This kind of BM is about atmosphere not just aggression. Many other types of BM are about much more, deeper things than just pure aggression. Aggression is a simple feeling, most BM trancends just pure aggression and contains both aggression and atmospheric beauty. I mean listen to stuff by bands like Silencer,Burzum,Nyktalgia,Wigrid (2 name a few). Those bands have a lot of anger in the voice, hatred, despair, suffering but also a lot of atmospheric beauty to their music. Aggression is too easy.

  • @maidenslayer Well said!

  • @maidenslayer I concur!!!

  • @maidenslayer gay comment LOL

  • @Gruntsplatter wtf are you talking about.

  • @Gruntsplatter your gay thats what im talking about queer

  • @maidenslayer i also prefer athmosphere than brutality. Unfortunately most norwegian bm bands left athmosphere and just went to technical , agression, etc...

Instead, Harsh, raw, athmospheric bm is my favourite..

  • @lvsitiwdr - Well most supposedly 'true' (Black) metal heads say the only true BM is the Norwegian stuff. Yeah It is perhaps the most influential scene and theone that molded black metal into what it is today but to look no further than just Norway for black metal is pretty fucking dumb imo.Lately Germany and EVEN (!) the USA have been producing some great BM. Especially from the suicidal/atmospheric/depressive genre of BM.

  • @maidenslayer True. If black-metal has no atmosphere than it may sounds more like it's cousin, death-metal which focuses exclusively on aggression.

  • @maidenslayer Ah but thats the thing this shit has neither aggression NOR atmosphere. Its just trite, uninspired and silly like all of Dimmu's work.

  • @maidenslayer Wish everyone could read and understand this statement! No one could of said it better than you

  • @maidenslayer

    stop say agression

  • @maidenslayer HAHA!!! you make me smile. Idk why you just do.

  • @maidenslayer

While BM is not a genre I really like (some Dimmu I enjoy hence why Im here!) thank you for that comment. Not trying to troll or be an ass I swear, but most BM fans are, I think, trying to be hardcore or have anger issues. Your comment however was one of the best Ive seen.

  • @maidenslayer agreed, I'd say a prime example of this would also be Summoning, they are an excellent balance of what makes music brutal, yet beautiful at the same time.

  • @maidenslayer Furthermore, black metal, originally at least, well, particularly the second wave (the best!), was anti-christianity (favouring the religions of old) and anti-commercialism. We have similar taste, I like 'em raw and melodic! To me, only this album and Stormblast are worth owning as they are closest to my ideal of the greatest sound of black metal, Broderskapets Ring for example - fuckin classic.

  • @punkmanjon Black metal doesnt have to be filled with anger all the time. We are humans, we have more emotions than just anger.

  • @Jernklo2 I said aggression not anger and anyway this is (supposed to be) Black Metal and therefore does not deal with all emotions but only a select few such as hatred, nihilism, misanthropy, anger etc.

My real point was that this song is simply weak both musically and production wise. They should never have claimed to be Black Metal, this is more like Goth Metal.

  • @punkmanjon your an idiot who knows nothing about black metal

  • @deathmetalfan91 Wrong. I am a musical historian and have written books about the subject. I am an expert of Black Metal.

  • @punkmanjon saying youve written books on a subject is the weakest and most ridiculous argument ever, especially since these books you have written arent known of, or have even been published! (except self-published with your computer printer and stapled together at best)

    Loser.

  • How exactly do you know my work has not been published? Are you in the habit of reading books about gender theory and anthropology?

  • @punkmanjon You're saying black metal = gender theory and anthropology? You did say you've written books about the subject. Fucking retard. Stop speaking, you only dig yourself deeper.

  • @123121s1 No I have written books about the anthropology of Black Metal with reference to gender theory. Dont call me a retard just because you dont understand lol.

  • @punkmanjon So your argument is basically that you're written a nonsensical shitty book. Good one.

  • @punkmanjon regardless of whether you like dimmu or not, this album is black metal. select few emotions? listen to burzums "burzum" album. if you think those are the only emotions in black metal, then you know nothing because "burzum" is considered a black metal classic. production wise, its supposed to be shitty. thats part of what makes it more black metal.

  • @Jernklo2

tbh most real black metal bands have at least a few songs that are nostalgic.

  • @Jernklo2 FUCK HUMANS WE ARE DEMONS FROM HELL OR DO YOU THINK THE CHURCH LIKE YOU HAHAHAHAHA WE ARE IN WARRRRRRRRRRR

  • @punkmanjon this scared the shit out of me when I was younger a lot more than their new shit would have. BM is like an emotional rollercoaster. that's why its so awesome. if you want aggression listen to death metal...

  • @GeminoSmothers There is no emotion whatsoever in this as far as I can see. I dont really see any atmosphere either. Its just a pale immitation of the Black Metal greats (Emperor, Burzum etc). The songwriting is poor, the playing is rubbish and the keyboards are really irritating.

  • @punkmanjon I was talking about BM in general, but I still think this has its fair level of emotion. this is not the best song on the album but it still kicks ass. not as good as burzum or emperor, but not bad for a first album.

  • @GeminoSmothers Sorry but I think is dismal and unaccomplished. Dimmu have no place in the pantheon of Black Metal greats as far as I am concerned.

  • @punkmanjon fuktards like you ruin the meaning of music...this is a masterpiece

  • @666Ahil If my opinion is enough to ruin music for you then maybe you need to re-evaluate your priorities. I dont like, I entitled to say so and to say why. If you like it good for you but insulting me achieves nothing.

  • @punkmanjon isaid the meaning not the melody it self....if you dont like melodies and all you like is fukin brutal terrible noise then go listen to that..no need to go o nthe page of a song that you dont liek just to bitch bout it... its like kids who think they are metalheads go on justin bieber videos and start shit

  • @666Ahil I had never heard this before I came to this page. I came to listen and then gave my opinion as I am entitled to do. If you are so precious you cannot cope with someone who deosnt agree with you then perhaps it is you who shouldnt come on this page!

  • @punkmanjon all i said was that if your opinion about not liking this song is based on your shitty taste in music and therefore sucks, doesnt mean you can bash on the song and the people who like it

  • @666Ahil I didn't bash on anyone. You insulted me, I only insulted the song. Grow up and fuck off!

  • @punkmanjon relax kiddo, go back and open your eyes wider this time when you read what i wrote and what you wrote, and i dont have time to have an online retarded arguing right now, studying for my midterm, so please do not reply to this, take care.

  • @punkmanjon You can't insult a song. You need to eat fire & vomit.

  • @punkmanjon punk is dead

  • @AssPimple69 Yeah pretty much.

  • @punkmanjon Lol who the fuck told you black metal was about anger?

  • @EraOfBloodtv Where did Isay anything about anger? I said AGRESSION. Its different. This is very weedy metal. Im sick of you Dimmu fans bawling me out for this shit. I am allowed to dislike this if I want to.If you like it then bully for you but I think its fucking shit.

  • @punkmanjon Not all black metal is about agression either, you dumb fuck.

  • @TheFlagellator28 I believe it should be. People who say 'it all about atmosphere' are just making excuses cos this band are really weak sounding.

  • @punkmanjon It´s not all about atmosphere either. Black metal would suck if it was only about aggression or only about atmosphere.

  • @punkmanjon thats complete bullshit

  • @punkmanjon -- Fucking troll! You have no understanding of anything! Its the sorrow that creates hatered and aggression. Why bother?

  • This is the best depressive riffs yet by Dimmu Borgir, before the English accented it with a french name (they pronounced it Dimmu BOR-JURE, while Fagrath calls it Dimmy Boygir), I loved For All Tid and Stormblast, maybe even Devil's Path. But Under Korpens Vinger (aka Under Ravens Wings) is the best song on the album!

    Pride in Satan!

  • Oops, sorry guys, Korpens means crow... My evil :P

  • @Lunhyver that is not correct. Korp is an old word for raven.

  • @Lunhyver - Erm...I am English. Not all English people pronounce the band name wrong you know. As with ALL peoples speech and sounds differ everywhere so It is probably not just SOME English peaking people who pronouce the name of the band wrong you know. People are going to accent it into their own language. I mean That is also why a lot of German words beginning with 'W' for English people are spoke how they would be in English. For example a lot of people say WACK-EN wheras It is VACK- EN.

  • @Lunhyver RoFLMAO leave shaggy alone

  • EXCELENTE DIMMU BORGIR!!!!

  • i just love this album, maybe the best music i ever heard <3

  • in my personal opinion, anything dimmu borgir conjures u is a masterpiece.

  • In sorte diaboli is a good album but it sounds very polished and processed, especially the vocals.

  • a mi gosto el mejor y siempre sera uno de los mejores albumnes de black metal

Como se extraña al viejo dimmu, Este album es la pura neta

Ya el dimmu ahorita no la rifa, ya se cren mucho

Si el for all tide el mejor album

    contando mi favorita

    Transilvanian hunger - Darkthrone

  • @werdd909the2nd hehe the dimmu borgoroth XD

  • Dimmu Borgir shall always be so much better than bands like Gorgoroth..

  • @Anzelayne They're different subsubgenres so they're hard to compare. I do prefer Dimmu Borgir to Gorgoroth though.

  • When Borgir was a true black metal band

  • That is the most Badass songtitle I ever heard.

  • Old dimmu is great (the new stuff is bearable) but they should seriously perform songs from this, and stormblast (original) way more

  • fuck yeah

  • Helvítis ógeð

  • epical black 666

  • quite possibly the most epic song in existence

  • hell epical black metal

  • But I must say, Under Korpens Vinger (Under Crow Wings) is definitive of purifying spirituality

  • Yes, now the traitorous King ov Hell who tried stealing Gorgoroth from Infernus is doing a project with boy wonder Shagrath.. OV HELL... I have no opinion beyond this scope... that's why I like the Finnish Underground better.

  • What a shame that the new songs are not so good :[

  • i think this is the best dimmu borgir album ever!!!

  • i miss the odl dimmu borgir and the old line-up:astennu,silenoz,mustis,shagrath and nagash :'(

  • @midianxx5 sorry but the old line up was: Shagrath,Erkekjetter Silenoz,Tjdolav,Brinjard Tristan and Stian Aarstard.

  • i was watching this video but at the same time i was listening to deicide without realising it and i was thinking......dimmu sounds a little.....different

  • you multitasker metal head you. How do you head bang to two great bands at the same time... your neck must hurt like a mother fucker.

  • This is such an awesome song

  • I like the old dimmu and the new dimmu even though they changed a hell of alot

  • <
