@shitefromaheight It was night and the crew was winching a halyard that had gotten tangled with the end of a mast spreader. They didn't notice and kept winching until the spreader broke off and fell to the deck. The skipper was fired by the team's owner shortly after this if I recall.

@starchaser28 think he had an abcess in his knee or something don't quote me on that. It was something that wasn't desperately serious but could have been life threatening if it got infected mid-ocean. He was picked up by a fishing boat off the coast of Cape Verde..

hey gabri104, you have more than enough time, if its what you really want.  You need to start crewing, you volunteer for day rides, etc. Get immersed and do it quickly. Check out greek and international publications, people always looking for crew members of all skill levels. Get out and do it, be prepared to learn.
