  • True story. I knew this mtf who used to hang out at my local lgbt center, and she told me all about being at the riots the second night, and how the queens were dancing the canne canne in a line and throwing their high heels at the cops. They threw there wigs at them too. They pulled the whole thing off fashionably and gave those pigs a hell of a time.

  • 6:03 Ian McKellen WHOOO!

  • It would be nice to be able to hear what they are saying... but that friggin disco music is blasting over them.

  • this has nothing to do with stonewall008 in league of legends

  • @MasterA55a55in ......

This is fucking history dude, a game or a player has NOTHING to this.

  • Best moment of the whole docu was between 4.57 and 5.00! :)

I wish the music was not on the track..it spoils it and hard to concentrate on this absolutely amazing event!!

  • and by the way just cause i wanna see what happened historically with this crazy shit dont mean we're gay. does someone who looks into ww2 or hitlrer mean they are anti semetic?

  • fuck faggots

  • @catsnake7

I'm sure you'd like to but we don't go for ugly morons. So sweet cheeks- go back to fucking your sister

  • Great, but the background music is way too loud at points; I can't understand what the persons being interviewed is saying around 5:15 and at 6:39.

  • where can i find the interveiws expressed in the video

  • Who are these people in these interveiwss

  • i think its time to open all of the closets in the worl!d! :)

  • the police are always homophobic thats why i dont call them

  • The Stonewall Riots were one of the worst events mankind ever faced.

  • I am Jamaican and Lesbian and its about time we had our Stonewall.

  • @eviltreemonster Hell yes, sister. I've read stories about what's happening to LGBT in Jamaica, and frankly it makes me a little sick. Get out there and spread the word. You'll be doing far more than I am.

  • @TwoCows23

I once tried asking God to protect me from the haters but thats not how God works so I just shot them and asked for forgiveness.

  • watch?v=3FeOGwe6QS0

  • Informative video but the 'background music' often gets too loud!

  • i would do anything to go back in time to the stonewall riots.

    that would be amazing.

    scary, violent.

    but amazing.

i have so much admiration for the people who rioted. :)

i still think we should riot about the crap that is prop 8.

    its unfair.

    anyway

    great video. :)

  • We're not going anywhere! So love us or leave.

  • Closet queen. Why would you even be watching this video in the first place? I bet you secretly fantasise about taking a huge dick up your ass.

  • what's with the audio? you can't hear them talking over that stupid song.

  • Damn New York needed! those riots.

  • (I am the uncle of this U Tuber's account) I was a freshman at NYU back then, lived on Charles St. My bar was Julius's,(sawdust floors, great burgers,Bloody Mary Sunday's). This clip brought back a vivid memory as if yesterday- hanging from the ceilings, large signs "WAITERS WORK FOR TIPS ONLY". I was a poor college kid (albeit handsome, drinks at Julius's arrived freely) - it was the most extraordinary time of times....

  • tell more tell more!

  • As I was there the night of the raid NOT the riot the next day. The dance floor was where the bar is now and the bar was in the back where the steps are now, and a wishing well for coins there and a very small bar with Maggie Jiggs the one to know in those days..(with her drinking chalice). The large bar was next door to the right and you can still see the bricks that closed the connecting entrance to the dance floor and juke box from the Stonewall now What great people.

  • awesome, but cut the music when the guy's talking =]

  • Thanks for drowning out the commentary with crappy music. When I don,t want to hear what I'm being told I can get that experience in a gay bar. Now how about reposting it without the music or with subtitles for those who are not dumbed down or shallow scene queens.

  • If you'd like to hear the commentary then go to Charlie Rose...but thanks for your comment

  • Honestly, your vid is great but aholmes is right, it's impaired by the music that is sometimes too loud! Too bad, the vid is great but you sabotage it yourself. I'd love a music-less version (at least when people are speaking!)

    But thx anyway :)

  • bitchy.

    i love it.

  • @govbruce There is no such commentary as Stonewall Riots Charlie Rose. where now?

  • @aholmes18 I'm a shallow scene queen--AND I didn't like the music either. Don't speak for me, fag!

  • Awesome, thanks for posting.

  • that the 1rst gay bar i ever went 2 they couldnt shut it own bcuz its a historic lan mark....lol

  • I went to my first Pride in 1971. Bus loads of all Black Baptists showed up to protest, and kick the shit out of us. The police watched and laughed. I had my neck broken, my shoulder dislocated and my wrist broken. I was in the hospital 9 days becuase of the mass beating at Pride, 1971. Never again will I allow anyone to step on me again.

Never forget what those of us had to endure to be what we are. Never go back, never let one inch of ground we've gained be lost again.

  • Informative video, but the editing needs some work

  • The definitive history of the Stonewall Riots is "Stonewall: The Riots That Sparked The Gay Revolution" by David Carter (St. Martin's Press, 2004)

Remember the Stonewall! Happy Gay Pride Everyone!!!

  • From what I understand gay bars have been around for a long time. The cops used to make alot of protection money from the bars. The bars would pay off the cops. But this before I was before my time. I admire Trudeau for one thing "The government has no place in the bedrooms of Canadians".

  • thankx a ton. thats sad though. is this the whole movie. were can i find it online?

  • loved it thanks so much its perfect for my presentation on the stonewall riots!! =]
