ntn1987...common sense tells us that we learn more as we grow ("older but wiser") and common sense also tells us that we become more resistant to changing our thinking as we grow ("can't teach old dog new tricks"). The only finality in common sense is when it is interpreted by one party - a king, a dictator, or a simple majority. And in most of those cases, "common" would be a poor description of the reasoning.

Abortion and bear arms is obviously controversial and most likely will be seen in the Court at some time. Also, look into what Roe v. wade said as it seems that you have your facts wrong.

She has no business as a nominee to the supreme court. The ruling for Roe-vs-Wade was based on the arguement that "we don't know when life begins" and if it were later determined when life begins then the issue would have to reconsidered. Yet, she can't even answer if new findings from new techologies should be considered with regard to Roe-vs-Wade. She can't even say if we have a right to bear arms in self-defense?!?! what the...! Seriously? what an idiot.

Roe-vs-Wade was not based upon the courts opinion of "where life begins" that is to say they were not ambivalent. The ruling stated that until the point of fetal viability it was an issue of privacy. It is a strange ruling which was not backed by legal precedence. In my opinion understanding (or what little understanding) of the court system had I been arguing for the plantiff I should not have used the privacy argument.

he's not asking her questions that would pertain to her job. you can ask her what she'd do as a supreme court justice and expect an answer. you can't ask her a question about something peripheral to her job (the answer to which would likely be damaging) and expect her to give you anything other than "I can only tell you what the Supreme Court said."
