the original in 1972 with Macqueen and Macgraw is unique, the fighting scene is the best and this one is too heavy, and dont forget that its suppose to be Doc who slaps Carol only like the original
Heavy scene. From a guy's perspective, I think Alec did a good jobportraying all the vented up anger, jealousy, and wild thoughts we men would replay in our head knowing our lady was with another man we despised. I wouldn't hit a woman, but at least he took a smack back himself. Still, Alec shines more so in comedy.
What an awful Steve McQueen imitator. Alec Baldwin is good in some roles (I loved him "Hunt for Red October") but this movie stinks and he's not Steve McQueen.
The original with Steve McQueen is better.

This scene was so much better than the Steve McQueen/Ali McGraw one.
In the original, he just hit her and she took it. So much better when she slaps him back AND when he beat up the car.
