  • What recording software are you using? I can't find that slight echo effect on Audacity.

  • Superb!

  • Sounds good, but you're a bit fast. Try slowing it down to 6/8 time. Nice post tho, few people playing this on youtube. Thank you

  • well done!

  • can you make a toutorial pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee :) ?

  • you know, i thought i was finally getting this song...then i see this and want to throw my whistle out the window. bloody hell, you're amazing!

  • N-i-i-i-c-e. I was told the tune is Scottish, also told more than once to play it slow and stately, for the dance that is done to it is done double time.

    Now try Lord Gordon's Reel.

  • Nice, but persevere at a slower pace - it's too beautiful a tune to rush!

  • great!

  • Ha! I love your face when you play! You seem so into the music :) Great sound by the way :)

  • Great performance on a budget low D. Mine coming in a week. I'm scared of the streeeeeech. But seemingly it's not an issue for you.

  • Sweet! Nice one fella.

  • Nice, thanks!

Irish and Scottish whistle music sounds similar, moreso Ulster-Scots and Irish.

The shared Celtic legacy and heritage ensures that.

  • Excellent!

  • Oh - yes - you can do it...And well too. Anna

  • I think it's an irish song. Learnd to dance it years ago! But played wayyyy slower!!!

  • dude you rock. that was pretty sweet. would be cool to hear with accompaniment!

  • Very well done. I think it sounds good at the tempo you played it. Being a jig I think it should be played this way.

  • Very nice! Thanks for uploading this.

  • *w* such a good song <3

  • love the playing..

  • i absolutely love how you've done this! its beautiful :)))

  • where abouts are you from? [the accent]:)

  • Comment removed

  • ur really good! but this is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to fast for anyone to ever dance to! ill give it 5 stars

  • How come low whistles are so much more expensive then normal ones?? i got my High D whistle for like 10 bucks haha and it sounds real nice

  • I'm pretty sure it's because low whistles are not mass produced in factories. Generation, Waltons, Clarke, and others have machine made whistles produced hundreds at a time, but I think all low whistles are handmade (at least all that I've ever heard of)...

  • @To2ndMars There is a mass-produced whistle.

Susatos are injection-moulded ABS whistles. The Kildare series are done in that way, and the range covers all keys from high G to Low C.

Probably the only mass-produced low whistle.

  • @To2ndMars a low d is indeed always handmade and its bigger then other whistles just that makes em expensife

  • Very well done! You sound great!!! Thanks for the nice music!

  • Very nice! Thanks for posting this.

  • Whats the price approx. in US dollars of a low whistle? and where can I find it?

  • Well. Mine is a nickel Low D whislte and it was around 45 or 50 dollars for a good beginner one.

  • where did u buy it? all the ones i find are like 150+

  • @SLG7cello $70+ to $350+.

  • Great!!!! Why don't you make a tutorial to play the low whistle???

  • pfft everyones a critic, even the guys who've only played the skin flute.

  • Really good =D

  • Bravo!

  • Sounds pretty Scottish to me. Scottish jigs are way better, Nice work

  • rn't tin whistles similar to playing as a recorder if u get wat i mean

  • Somewhat

I've yet to hear a recorder hit the breathy notes like tin whistles can, though

  • OH! OH! This calls for a duet.

I played along on my concertina, and thought it sounded pretty good. I think this one calls for another one of your split screen wonders.

  • Great playin mate!! If I'd try that on my Shaw low D, I'd be in hospital drinkin pure oxygen........

    cheers Kees

  • nice one!

  • hey is that a tony dixon tunable polypenco low D ? I have dixon non tunable and i am quite happy with it too.nice rhytmn, nice melody.keep it up !

  • They are, it will just be lower.

  • I love that piece...such a beautiful sound and melody

  • Is that a Susato Low Whistler??

  • Nope, not a Susato - a Dixon! :-)

  • That is awesome when it's not on an accordion! Also, just to let you know, it is an Irish Set Dance. I should know, since it's my favorite, and best, dance. Great job!

  • Sounds nice. I count two parts that sound off-key, and I like the tempo. Very nicely done.
