Interesting... since Bach was Lutheran, did the Lutherans change the Mass, or did Bach write this for Catholics, and the Catholic Church changed the Mass? Because this too doesn't fit in with the order of the Mass at my Catholic parish. This would be a stanza of the Greater Doxology, not its own piece.

The individual numbers in the Mass in B minor are all so wonderful. You think you've heard the most beautiful piece and then the one after it is just as beautiful.
