He has succeeded in combining his passion for bikes & travel with his other passion of raising awarness for charities in some good forsaken areas of the world. I stopped watching the show after one episode opened with him killing mosquitoes. Not that I care about mosquitoes I just don't care about Boorman killing them. I watch travel shows to see the places not the faces of those shooting it. There was another scene in Iran with a great, wonderful temple somewhere and the camera did nothing but zoom in on Charley's mug. I don't mind the guy but if you're shooting a travel show then show the places you're in.

After watching Long Way Round again on TV I went out & got the DVD's, & its true what the boys said, it is the trip of a life-time...I hope to do it one day but to anyone else, if you & a mate or 2 get to go...just do it but plan it, enjoy the trip but be safe!

Yes it was the long map from the Long Way Down. To everyone who travels, however it may be, motorbike, bicycle, boat on foot, whatever. They stole our idea, only we have already done it, & a better job at that: EVERY continent -including Antarctica- no aeroplanes.. but we used push-bikes (couldn't afford motorbikes.) We used all sorts of other transport too... on 4000 quid. Blagged everything, no movie-star status or cash to get us by. I spoke to Charlie about our trip about 4 years ago at the telegraph travel adventure show, told him our plans... He signed one of our original brochures saying we are mad.. We've been swindled!
