I feed almost every night twice. Is that why I don't get sun damage? I thought I was doing something wrong. When I use the wait command for like 2 days I instantly die.
What are these restrictions for fast travel? I'm level 6 and have no problems fast traveling.
@vdochev how it works is if you feed at least once every 24 hours it prevents the vampirism from worsening the following day, unless you reach 100% vampirism then it cannot be reversed unless you cure yourself.
you cannot fast travel during the day if you have 50% or more vampirism, if you start traveling at late night and you end up at your destination during the day you will retain sufficient sun damage according to the distance traveled during the day.
@hungoverjerk you only get sun damage at 50% or more vampirism, and if you have 75% you can fed twice in one day and you will revert to 25%, but lets say you wait for 2 days outside, each following day you would have needed to feed, and since you are outside you will also retain damage for each of those days. thats why you are dying. for more info check out the wiki. they have lots of useful info.

As for the fast traveling you just have to watch the time. Just before the sun rises fast travel to the nearest cave or house, wait till night and then go out :)
i screwed up my first player accepting being a vampire from lucien lachance or whatever his name is. it sucks when your a full fledged vampire, you cant be even the slightest sun and are screwed if your in the middle of the map and traveling you have like a 70% chance of not making it their before being killed from sun damage

If you need A Vampire Mod, Google the Unholy Darkness Mod, it is 100x better than the crappy Vanilla Vampires. If you want a werewolf mod, go on tesnexus.com and download "Curse Of Hircine Resurrected" . I use both of them together so im a hybrid as i love both. I really suggest that you try it out.
the best part is once you've done this you can save it there and when you want to start again just load that one oh and if you choose all of the skills you are master in you can level up to level 30+ but if you're smart, you can go to all he places where you can train in the rest of them to master and you have completely mastered your character at the start of the game and like i said it will take awhile but its worth it in the long run, this can work for bothe console and pc
oh and block i forgot to mention block in the last one. once done goto the gate to leave but dont leave, change your class to mage (and still dont leave untill this is done) and make heaps of magic potions keep leveling up your magic skill up till you are satisfied and yuo sould be master in light armor, heavy armor, alchemy, repair (maybe), block, all magic (if you want them to be), all fighting styles (again if you want them to be) and still be able to change class and looks...
do this and keep making potions as fast as you can (to save time) and youll be master in it within 5-10 mins next is (either one or all) blade,blunt,hand to hand and archery when you reach the point where the blades tell you to protct the emperor run sraight into battle mand make sure you have heaps of healing potion and repair hammers hint: in one corner make a pile oh healing potions and in another a pile of repair hammers itll also help in leveling up your repair skill...
once done to at least 100 health potions, go and confron the rats but dont kill them there should be 5-7 rats, round them up and epuip heavy or light or both, let them ttack you till your armor skill is 100 for both and restoration is at least 23-25
then kill them if you wish to.
next is alchemy and the dupe glitch is needed for this o keep your items up e.g. tomatoes and cheese etc, dupe them till you get at least 1000 for each and you need to get the mortar and pestle
once you have them gather the rats to one point and i cant stress enough before you try this make sure you know the dupe glitch so that you can make plenty of healing potions, if you don its like this: make sure you have more than 10 arrows, hit and go to your equipment, epuip the arrows till it says you cant equip then during battle (or something like that) then goto your potions and dro them itll exit your equipment screen and potions will be copied and dropped on the ground
i have a much more simpler way of becoming a high leveled character at the biginnig of the game even for thoughs without mods but it takes some time but helps in tthe long run.
1st: get to the point where you split paths with the emperor and the blades
2nd: go to the next room whwere it tells you to practice your magic but ignore it and DONT KILL THE RATS, kill the zombie but not the rats oh and make sure you have he iron and leather armor...
DONT become a vampire because of it i had to start a new game :/ because i had 1 hp left and no hp pots or bed and the wait command dident work and both my saves were with 1 hp so fuck vampirism

I've became a vampire while sleeping in the Bloodworks, before the match for the title of Grand Champion. I play with the highest difficulty, so it was quite fucked up match against the Grey Prince, furthermore it was around 12:30 pm in the middle of the fucking daylight... That was fun, but I hardly won it.
I know you have to drink blood from humans to avoid becoming even more vampire-ish, but can you drink those bottles/potions title "Human Blood" to avoid more vampirism?
Any of you seen Diary Of A Vampire? Its about a depressed man who has nothing; anymore, and as he is about to die is stopped by a vampire and given eternal life. He regrets it after 500 years of darkness, & watching his friends die. And having to feed on innocent little children. Let's just say it put me off being a vampire in real life and in games.
@InShadowsLight Well vampires don't necessarily have to feed on humans. Blood in general is what they need. Human blood though is the best if you will. Too bad Oblivion doesn't allow you to feed on cattle or at least sample blood from things.
The argument that you are weak at the start of the game is nonsense, Oblivion's leveling system removes the feeling that you get stronger when you level up.
@s1monz look at it this way, if your character(non-vamp) has a blade of 40 to start with and mine(vamp) has 40+10=50, whose stronger(blade based), yours or mine?

"Unholy Darkness" its BY FAR the best and most realistic/fun vampire version and strives to create a great and fun experience for a player looking to become a vampire.
P.S i dont own or distribute the mod i just want as many people as possible to acknowledge this excellent moders work.
@Losuurx being a vampire has no faction(But would urge me even more to be one), however, it does have some special powers you get such as a 5 magicka spell with nighteye and something else. This is one of four spells useful to almost any character. It also has skill/attribute bonuses, such as speed that allows you to run faster. hope this helps
I didn't bother with vampirism at the beginning, I waited til' I was high level, just because the only reason I did that quest was because I simply wanted to though I prefer werewolves, but the vids I've seen of the werewolf mod make it seem kinda dull, and because the design of the werewolf itself is a little dumb. And no, before anyone implies I do, I don't like Twilight.
I agree that you should be a vamp at begining but I not a vamp fan I dont care instead I love the lich whoo from a mod it rules and also I heard a vamp mod that gives wicked abilities such as turning into a wolf, mist , bat, and something else. Also if anyone has a pc and hates sunlight on tesnexus I think their is amod that give a hood tha protects from sunlight.
They should do that in Skyrim, where only being in direct sunlight would harm you, if you stick to the shadows, or wear clothes that protect your whole body, you don't get damage
Its a shame you can be a vampire only once. I became a vamp, didnt like it much, and got it cured. now I want to be a vampire, nothin much i can do now
the only problem I have with being a vampire is that it makes the arena go a bit slower, but I'm patient enough to deal with it. Besides, the "Natire of the Beast" mod (Pc only) gives even MORE bonuses to vampirism.
i like being a vampire myself but only because i dont have to cure it with the quest because i have deepscorn hollow so i dont get annoyed and i can feed on the prisoner.

enemies level up with you in this game. its easy to beat the game at level one by never leveling up and getting custom spells and enchantments in the mages guild. an item enchanted with weakness to magicka+drain health 100pts will defeat even bosses with 1 or 2 strikes when you are all at level 1.

I'd think that whether being a vampire id worth it or not would depen on how you plan to play your character,like if you plan to use stealth a lot,vampirism is great for you.But I've only played one type of character build so far.Also,I hate how you look like a damn monkey at 100%.And they also manage to screw it up for Dark Elves by making your skin a pale blue.I like the color,I might even choose it in the character creator,but it's not like they make Redguard vamps white.
i tend to make 3 charcters......a mage...a warrier..and a acrobat....my acrobat is being a vapire no question...but as my mage is a ahigh elf and has like 80 health at lvl 11 and the healign spells take a while to cast......she is not being one....u think this is right....PLEASE TELL ME
@burningcynders It's crucial in oblivion that you put points in endurance in the beginning of the game, however, you can easily move the difficulty down and that should void the problem.
I'd say unless you like being a vampire and don't wanna be a cured despite the flaws then it works out I became one because i like the bonuses and just the vampirism itself I only hate the feeding since it causes you to wait at night for ppl to sleep instead of like regular vampires and just grabbing a person. The other is mainly sun damage when I do my quests i have to many with set times and if i wait it means adding another day to the vampirism which i hate but eh

The simplest counter to sun damage is to be born under the sign of the Lord. The healing spell it grants should last you through most of the game. The only downside? The birthsign also increases your weakness to fire magic, which as a vampire, is already pretty high to begin with.

@epicmeisepic I don't think disease resistance will do anything to your chances of catching vampirism. If it does, however, you can still always get it as a quest reward at the Dark Brotherhood.
@epicmeisepic well, you could always contract it by doing some Dark Brotherhood quests, and taking up Valtieri on his Dark Offer. But you also forget about Weakness to Disease destruction magic effect: if you play the game as a race immune to disease, or almost immune, just find a way to get the Weakness to Disease spell effect cast on yourself while you're around vampires (most logical and easiest solution is to join the Mage's Guild and create a custom spell). Then, wa-la!
so when i became a vampire for the first time i was like "oh no, ima vampire ahhh" So i did the cure quest wich i hated cuz for some reason the witch kept attacking me near the end so it was pretty hard to get her to cure me. When she did, and idk how i got her to, i realized that i relied way to much on vampire magic and i missed it.....
Vampire is uber, just the spells which you have make you a hunter and nothing can surprise you in the dark and you can also predict the situation, which makes you way superior to your enemies.
the prob with vampirism is that if you stack alot of loot and then feed youre inhanced strengh will be normal agian so its decreasd. so you get overcucumbered. i tried selling my things when this prob occured but even with my seduction spell the merchants wont talk.and i cant do quests normally. i then tried to put half my stuff in my house but when i came agian..... EVERYTHING DIsSAPERED!!!!!!!!!!!!
my first character was an orc and i decided to become a vampire with him and it was really good at first but sometimes the sun damages is quite anoying and i cant seem to complete the cure quest cause i cant find blood grass and all the oblivion gates are shut now.
If you have htis gmae for xbox and do not have Xbox live can the cure vamperism quest still be done?

I wish you could get minions or followers for being a vampire.
Also, you should be able to gain stronger bonuses and a few more specific vampire targeted weakness's such as silver or "garlic posion".
Maybe you could even alter your looks when you turn, such as decide on the degree of vampirism looks you could have.

Any of you seen Diary Of A Vampire? Its about a depressed man who has nothing; anymore, and as he is about to die is stopped by a vampire and given eternal life. He regrets it after 500 years of darkness, & watching his friends die. And having to feed on innocent little children. Let's just say it put me off being a vampire in real life and in games.

@InShadowsLight Well vampires don't necessarily have to feed on humans. Blood in general is what they need. Human blood though is the best if you will. Too bad Oblivion doesn't allow you to feed on cattle or at least sample blood from things.

The argument that you are weak at the start of the game is nonsense, Oblivion's leveling system removes the feeling that you get stronger when you level up.

I love vampirism. All you have to do is feed so you're at level one continually, and you get all the stat boosts and junk. Awesome.

primarily in the fact that if you drink blood you get stronger and more able to disguise yourself as opposed to the regular oblivion experience where you get weaker as you drink more blood? what the f*** was up with that?

"Unholy Darkness" its BY FAR the best and most realistic/fun vampire version and strives to create a great and fun experience for a player looking to become a vampire.
P.S i dont own or distribute the mod i just want as many people as possible to acknowledge this excellent moders work.

Vampirism gives a bonus to many skills , including sneak and security.
one of the only downsides is sun damage....but do u ever break into a house at day??

Morrowinds Vampires were sucky as hell, but at least they had 14 quests after you became a vampire and 3 clans of vampires.

@Losuurx being a vampire has no faction(But would urge me even more to be one), however, it does have some special powers you get such as a 5 magicka spell with nighteye and something else. This is one of four spells useful to almost any character. It also has skill/attribute bonuses, such as speed that allows you to run faster. hope this helps

I didn't bother with vampirism at the beginning, I waited til' I was high level, just because the only reason I did that quest was because I simply wanted to though I prefer werewolves, but the vids I've seen of the werewolf mod make it seem kinda dull, and because the design of the werewolf itself is a little dumb. And no, before anyone implies I do, I don't like Twilight.

I agree that you should be a vamp at begining but I not a vamp fan I dont care instead I love the lich whoo from a mod it rules and also I heard a vamp mod that gives wicked abilities such as turning into a wolf, mist , bat, and something else. Also if anyone has a pc and hates sunlight on tesnexus I think their is amod that give a hood tha protects from sunlight.

They should do that in Skyrim, where only being in direct sunlight would harm you, if you stick to the shadows, or wear clothes that protect your whole body, you don't get damage

the only problem I have with being a vampire is that it makes the arena go a bit slower, but I'm patient enough to deal with it. Besides, the "Natire of the Beast" mod (Pc only) gives even MORE bonuses to vampirism.

enemies level up with you in this game. its easy to beat the game at level one by never leveling up and getting custom spells and enchantments in the mages guild. an item enchanted with weakness to magicka+drain health 100pts will defeat even bosses with 1 or 2 strikes when you are all at level 1.

ok, so i was playing oblivion and i got to the point where i could level up again, so i go to a bed, sleep, and wake up to be a vampire, i dont understand why i bacame one though because i never tried to become one. does it have something to do with joining the dark brotherhood? i never and the vampire in the dark brotherhood to turn me though, SOMEBOdY PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

I'd think that whether being a vampire id worth it or not would depen on how you plan to play your character,like if you plan to use stealth a lot,vampirism is great for you.But I've only played one type of character build so far.Also,I hate how you look like a damn monkey at 100%.And they also manage to screw it up for Dark Elves by making your skin a pale blue.I like the color,I might even choose it in the character creator,but it's not like they make Redguard vamps white.

i tend to make 3 charcters......a mage...a warrier..and a acrobat....my acrobat is being a vapire no question...but as my mage is a ahigh elf and has like 80 health at lvl 11 and the healign spells take a while to cast......she is not being one....u think this is right....PLEASE TELL ME

@burningcynders It's crucial in oblivion that you put points in endurance in the beginning of the game, however, you can easily move the difficulty down and that should void the problem.

I'd say unless you like being a vampire and don't wanna be a cured despite the flaws then it works out I became one because i like the bonuses and just the vampirism itself I only hate the feeding since it causes you to wait at night for ppl to sleep instead of like regular vampires and just grabbing a person. The other is mainly sun damage when I do my quests i have to many with set times and if i wait it means adding another day to the vampirism which i hate but eh

The simplest counter to sun damage is to be born under the sign of the Lord. The healing spell it grants should last you through most of the game. The only downside? The birthsign also increases your weakness to fire magic, which as a vampire, is already pretty high to begin with.

@epicmeisepic I don't think disease resistance will do anything to your chances of catching vampirism. If it does, however, you can still always get it as a quest reward at the Dark Brotherhood.

@epicmeisepic well, you could always contract it by doing some Dark Brotherhood quests, and taking up Valtieri on his Dark Offer. But you also forget about Weakness to Disease destruction magic effect: if you play the game as a race immune to disease, or almost immune, just find a way to get the Weakness to Disease spell effect cast on yourself while you're around vampires (most logical and easiest solution is to join the Mage's Guild and create a custom spell). Then, wa-la!

so when i became a vampire for the first time i was like "oh no, ima vampire ahhh" So i did the cure quest wich i hated cuz for some reason the witch kept attacking me near the end so it was pretty hard to get her to cure me. When she did, and idk how i got her to, i realized that i relied way to much on vampire magic and i missed it.....

the prob with vampirism is that if you stack alot of loot and then feed youre inhanced strengh will be normal agian so its decreasd. so you get overcucumbered. i tried selling my things when this prob occured but even with my seduction spell the merchants wont talk.and i cant do quests normally. i then tried to put half my stuff in my house but when i came agian..... EVERYTHING DIsSAPERED!!!!!!!!!!!!

my first character was an orc and i decided to become a vampire with him and it was really good at first but sometimes the sun damages is quite anoying and i cant seem to complete the cure quest cause i cant find blood grass and all the oblivion gates are shut now.
