TV was so good before the year 2000...when we had SITCOMS..now it's just reality :( But the same guy did the theme songs for Family Matters, Full House and Step by Step..no wonder everyone loved those theme songs :)
Didnt one of the girls on this show become a porn star when Step By Step went off the air? Maybe Im thinking of another 1990s ABC show, but I think it's this one.
There needs to be a sitcom where the parents beat their kids. Hardout as fuck, whipping's with a jug cord, punches and bitchslaps. Smart alec tv show kids spout shit at adults with impunity, Where in real life they'd be punched fuckin dead within 2 minits. DAMAGE !!
Im with you too and tI thought the dad sang the male part lol. I dunno it kinda sounds like them. I wonder who sings this song. Sounds like Rod stewart i maybe wrong.
angela watson, the girl with black hair, i had a crush on her when this show first came out.....damn it's been years..but i didn't even know the show ran as long as it did
Thank god for you tube,,im 27 now and this my favourite thing on tv when i was a child and to hear the theme tune again makes the hairs stand on my back and gives me a lovely feeling inside, havent heard it in donkeys years but have always been signing it to myself over the years..thanks for posting
I love this show and this theme song one of my favorite shows of all time these shows bring back my child hood i love it thats one thing i like about all these shows brings back my child hood alot thanks for the post i give it 5 stars
That sounds like an episode of Growing Pains...when Carol's bf played by a young Matthew Perry gets in an accident, he's ok at first and even talks to Carol after the accident, but then he dies from internal injuries. Mike breaks the news to her and she thinks he's playing a terrible joke on her at first.
I'm glad I"m not the only one to notice this. It pisses me off that the creators lack the brain cell to create theme songs these days. I really wish shows still had theme songs. That's what made them memorable. Now TV shows not only suck, but it's like they can't have theme songs anymore because they need to make room for more commercials--as if we don't have to suffer through enough of them already.
I remember when I used to watch that show, Step By Step, when I was little. And I also like the theme song, too. It was sung by Jesse Fredrick and Teresa James. I hope me and my favorite singer Ralph Tresvant would do the cover of the theme song "Step By Step" someday.
...step by step, day by day, fresh start over a different hand to play. The deeper we fall, stumble we stay we'll be better second time around. Step by step, day by day fresh start over a different hand to play. Time will tell but you know what they say we'll make it better, second time around.
If only shows like this were still around. Clean family fun that's not afraid to be oozing cheese. It makes you feel at least a little more positive, and what's wrong with that.
He was fired from the show. His wife accused him of battery, and once the story got around to the press, and then all over, the producers told him he had to go.
yea these cheesy early 90's theme songs somehow get to me, cause we all know, in this day in age, will never hear these kind of theme song/intros in tv again
Dam, some of these TGIF shows were corny ass shit, but they somehow had the magic to draw ya in each Friday night. Why don't they just make one big ass box set in several volumes with all the episodes of Step by Step, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Boy Meets World, and the corniest of em all...Full House in these different volumes. Yeah...thats right...I'd buy it. I grew up with this crap when I couldn't drive just yet. Anyone remember emergency 911 with William Shatner?
cool! I miss TGIF the most though. Sure, the shows were corny like Full House, but it somehow drew ya in. I just hate all the "reality show" crap they have today, and its so freakin scripted. I mean come onnnnnnn....do ya ever see any plus sized women on the bachelor for example? By the way...I'm a guy, so don't think I'm a plus sized woman in defense. lol I'm just making an example. Heres an aged old sayin; "they just don't make em like they use to." Yeah, the 90's were cool.
I recall Just the Ten of Us and Dinosaurs, but I don't remember Lubbock Babes. That couldn't of been a TGIF show could it??? Ya remember Staci on "My 2 Dads" don't ya?
the Lubbock babes was reference to Just the Ten of Us. The older sisters (Marie, Wendy, Cindy, and Connie) were also known as the Lubbock Babes....of course I remember Staci on My Two Dads!
I used to watch that show "Step By Step" when I was little. I also love the theme song. It was sung by Teresa James and Jesse Fredrick. Maybe someday me and Ralph Tresvant will do the remake of theme song "Step By Step" along with Bell Biv DeVoe, JoJo and Bobby Brown.
Isn't it amazing how shows like this would NEVER work in this day and age? I mean, just look at it. Not for nothing, for the time in which this was a hit, it was about all one could expect.
Holy shit, after watching this again I remember some things that always bothered me. I hate how fake it is when the popcorn flies straight out when the dude sneezes in it. Of course, not to be outdone by the HORRIFIC fake roller coaster scene near the end. That was failure of epic proportions.
I got tired of family shows by the early 90's. This show only fueled that fire. It has it's moments but not my favorite sitcom. This song kinda rocks though.
Wait huh when did this happen Ive been looking around to find the news report on his death and there's nohing infact there are articles that he has a 9 year old daugther and she still lives with him Brandon Call isnt dead are you sure you dont mean someone else??
This theme song sooo reminds me of the Family Matters theme. I'm sure that it's the same male singer in both. Not surprising since they're both ABC shows from the '90s.
